NOV. 07 (THU) HONOLULU
Leave Honolulu Int’l Airport via ALL NIPPON AIR flight. Lunch and a Snack will be served aboard the flight. FREE Movies and Drinks.

NOV. 08 (FRI) KAGOSHIMA KAGOSHIMA SUN ROYAL HOTEL (ONSEN) ♨
Arrive at Haneda Int'l Airport and after clearing government formalities, catch a domestic flight to southern part of Kyushu, “Kagoshima”, the birthplace of Saigo Takamori who was the main character of NHK’s Taiga drama “SEGODON” and became, the central figure of the Meiji Restoration in 1867 to 1868 drive to modernize Japan and still remembered as “The Last Samurai” in Japanese history. We will stay at the hotel facing to the magnificent Sakurajima Island, the symbol of Kagoshima. Relax in the Hot Spring bath while viewing Sakurajima.

NOV. 09 (SAT) KAGOSHIMA KAGOSHIMA SUN ROYAL HOTEL (ONSEN) ♨
Go to Senganen Garden, constructed in 1658 which was used as a shooting place for “SEGODON”. You may remember scene of the drama while you are strolling the garden. This spectacular garden is made with fine design and has a refined taste, using Kinko bay to resemble the pond and Sakurajima as part of the garden. Later visit Saigo Park where the biggest statue of Saigo Takamori is located. It displays his dignified appearance. And visit the Museum of the Meiji Restoration located close to the Birthplace of Saigo Takamori and Okubo Toshimichi. Both were considered "One of the Three Great Leaders of the Meiji restoration". This extraordinary museum immerses you in pivotal period when Samurai rule came to an end and Japan’s modern period begins. Also we will watch realistic Robot show giving you the sense of being in the middle of the historical action when Japan took the direction toward becoming a modern state from Samurai era.

NOV.10 (SUN) KAGOSHIMA KAGOSHIMA SUN ROYAL HOTEL (ONSEN) ♨
Whole day tracing Saigo Takamori’s footsteps. Head to Mt. Shiroyama, site of Takamori’s Last stand. Visit “Saigo cave” where Takamori spent the last five days of his life after being defeated by the imperial army. For those who wish to, you can visit Site of Takamori’s Death, where he committed suicide (15 minutes by walk). Also visit Saigo Memorial Museum introducing his life and achievements. The museum exhibits his possessions, clothing, his handwritten diary, personal letters., etc. Also you can visit Nanshu Cemetery where over 2,000 of fallen samurai warriors from Takamori’s army including Takamori rest.

NOV. 11 (MON) IBUSUKI ONSEN IBUSUKI ROYAL HOTEL (ONSEN) ♨
Head to Kawanabe Butsudan (Buddhist alter) Hall to try your hand on making “Raden” accessory. Raden is a traditional craft creating beautiful luster by putting previously designed shell into surface of the lacquer or wood and is often used for decoration of Butsudan Buddhist Alter, Festival float etc. Later head to Chiran, a small town with rich history called “Small Kyoto”. Enjoy strolling around the graceful Samurai residential area selected as the preservation district for the groups of important historic buildings. Its immaculate gardens are designed as a National Cultural Asset by being evaluated as a Place of Scenic Beauty. And visit Flower Park Kagoshima, a large attractive park that numerous of seasonal flower blooming including Cosmos. Then head to Ibuskuki, a popular seaside Hot spring resort area. Enjoy soaking and relaxing famous Hot Spring Bath and Open air bath.

NOV. 12 (TUE) ICHIHINO ONSEN HOTEL GREEN HILL (ONSEN) ♨
Visit Satsuma Denshokan, spectacularly designed museum exhibit rare and valuable collection of world renowned Satsuma pottery in “Kinrande style”(gold brocade) which developed in Meiji period (1868-1912) when Japanese government was trying to develop the country with industry by exporting art works including this type of pottery. Later go to Amami-no Sato, a complex where you can learn about culture and nature of Amami island (Takamori was exiled here for 3 years), featuring Oshima Tsumugi textile and Amami style traditional garden. Later proceed to Satsuma Kinzangura originated in gold and silver mine that was actually operating till 1997. Try riding on trolley train going down mine road way to see part of the mine that is currently being used as distillery of Shochu (common distilled liquor in Kyushu). Then go to Marutake Samurai armor factory producing traditional Samurai armor called “Yoroi”. You will see collection of their armors including ones actually used in Samurai movie and TV drams. Soak and relax in Onsen Hot Spring bath!

NOV. 13 (WED) AMAKUSA HOTEL ALEGRIA GARDENS AMAKUSA (ONSEN) ♨
In the morning watch “Nabe-Zuru (hooded crane)” which comes from Russia. About 10,000 cranes stay during winter. It’s representing more than 80% of the world population of this species. Then catch ferry (30 minutes) to visit Japan’s newest World Heritage site Sakitsu Village, one of the places of the Hidden Christian sites kept their faith alive in secret through centuries of persecution and suppression. Visit Sakitsu Church, a symbol of the village and the Christian revival. It’s a beautiful example of gothic architecture on the outside has traditional tatami flooring inside. Soak and Relax in Onsen Hot Spring and Open Air bath. Private Onsen is available at your own expense also!

NOV. 14 (THU) KUMAMOTO HOTEL VERDE (ONSEN) ♨
Visit Amakusa Shiro Museum that introduces "Amakusa Shiro" who was the teenage leader of famous Christian peasant uprising in 1637, against Edo government that was prohibiting Christianity. We will see the trail of the history and the passion of people who fought for freedom and peace. Later stop at Misumi West Port, a historic masonry-stone wharf built in 1884. It was designated as World Heritage Sites in 2015, as an important and unique national legacy of Japan’s era of industrial modernization. Then enjoy driving “One of the 100 Best Scenic Roads in Japan” Amakusa Pearl Line with the five bridges which praised as like a string of the pearl-like islands. View beautiful saw-toothed coastline and the small islands scattered across the sea. Later visit Tabaruzaka Seinan war museum, located at major battlefield during the last Civil war in Japan between Japan New Government and Saigo Takamori’s troop. See a large number of weapons, ammunition, supplies etc. Then go to resort hotel located close to amusement park. Soak and relax in Onsen Hot Spring bath and Open Air bath.

NOV. 15 (FRI) FUKUOKA CANAL CITY FUKUOKA WASHINGTON HOTEL
Head to Hizen Yume Kaido, a historical theme park of reconstructed old post station which retains the atmosphere of the Edo period. Enjoy watching exciting Ninja Performance show. Later try tasting seasonal Autumn fruit in Japan. Picking Sweet Japanese Persimmons in season. Then heading to the largest city in Kyushu, Fukuoka. Upon arrival, visit Kawabata Shopping Arcade, Hakata’s oldest shopping street lined with various kind of stores carrying Japanese Tea, Kimono wear, etc. Our hotel is connected to Canal City Hakata shopping mall, a large shopping and entertainment complex filled with numerous attractions including “Ramen Stadium” which has eight ramen shops including the local specialty “Hakata Ramen”. Enjoy shopping after hotel check in.

NOV. 16 (SAT) YUDA ONSEN HOTEL KAMEFUKU (ONSEN) ♨
Visit Tagawa Coal Mine Museum exhibiting 15,000 items pertain to coal mining. In particular their Sakubei Yamamoto’s annotated painting collections telling us how miners had been working at that time. This documentary heritage was registered as UNESCO’s Memory of the World Register in 2011. Later cross Kanmon Strait to get to Shimonoseki (entering Yamaguchi prefecture). Visit Karato fish market for some fun shopping of dried sea foods, seaweed etc. And good chance to eat fresh SUSHI at the market. (You can try it from 1 piece at you own expense) Those who wish to, you can visit Akama Shrine, dedicated to Emperor Antoku, who died when he was 8 years old in the Battle of Dan-no-Ura in 1185 (need to go up steps) Then go to Chofu Garden, a traditional Japanese style landscape garden with a circular path which is expected to turned to Autumn color all over the garden. Hotel is located at Yuda Onsen with over 800 years history. Soaking in Onsen Hot Spring bath known as “Bijin-no Yu (Hot spring make you beautiful) ”.

NOV. 17 (SUN) KOKURA RIHGA ROYAL HOTEL KOKURA
Head to Hagi, a former castle town since 1604. Hagi produced many capable men who played leading roles in the construction of modern Japan. Enjoy browsing around well preserved old castle town district with residence of Kido Takayoshi who had a meeting with Saigo Takamori to form “Saccho military alliance” that would eventually overthrow the Tokugawa Shogunate. He is another "One of Three Great Leaders of the Meiji Restoration" along with Saigo Takamori. Also visit Meirinkan School, a Hagi domain School founded in 1718 that Kido Takayoshi was educated at. Then proceed to Akiyoshidai Plateau, Japan’s largest limestone karst plateau. Vast lands are dotted with limestone pinnacles, and filled by pampas grass at this season. Later go to the hotel close to Kokura train station. Enjoy holo-holo after hotel check in.

NOV. 18 (MON) KOKURA RIHGA ROYAL HOTEL KOKURA
Ride a Mt. Sarakura Cable Car to the summit (2,041 feet high) where observation decks is located. It offers great panoramic views of the entire Kitakyushu city and all the way to the Kanmon Strait. Then enjoy peaceful walk at Fukuchi Sanroku Flower park where various type of seasonal flowers blooming. It is expected to see beautiful Autumn colors as well. Enjoy shopping and lunch at AEON Shopping Mall. And visit Kokura Castle, once the renowned swordsman Miyamoto Musashi moved here in 1634. You can enter the castle building and learn it’s history with huge screen using the latest technology. (Lunch and Dinner at your own expense)

NOV. 19 (TUE) HONOLULU {ONLY BREAKFAST IS INCLUDED THIS DAY}
At check-out time, we will come around to tape and tie-up the boxes and take the baggage’s to be checked-in down. Later proceed to Fukuoka Airport to catch a domestic flight to NARITA Airport. Then catch a ALL NIPPON Airways Int’l flight in the evening to Honolulu, arriving the same morning NOV. 19 (TUE). After clearing U.S. Customs proceed home. However, if a handicapped passenger accepted for the tour requires any form of special assistance, he/she must be accompanied by a qualified helper who takes total responsibility for the handicapped passenger’s well being.
