TOUR ITINERARY
SEP. 22 (TUE) HONOLULU 
Leave Honolulu Int’l Airport via Japan Airlines flight. Lunch and a snack will be served aboard the flight. Free Movies and Drinks.

SEP. 23 (WED) SHIN URAYASU,
ORIENTAL HOTEL TOKYO BAY
Arrive at Narita Int’l Airport and after clearing government formalities. By bus to the hotel in Shin Urayasu, Chiba Prefecture. Hotel is located within easy walking distance to the Train Station and Big Shopping Complex with Supermarket, 100 YEN Shop, etc. After hotel check-in, tour guide will take you to the station area where you can have fun shopping.

SEP. 24 (THU) MUSASHI HILL,
SAITAMA HERITAGE RESORTS (ONSEN) ♨
Proceed to Soka City, known for “the Most Famous Brand of Rice Crackers in Japan”. We will visit the Senbei (rice cracker) Factory to enjoy “Grilling Your Own Senbei and Shopping”. Then visit Iwatsuki Doll Museum which will open in February 2020. It shows the history and culture of doll manufacturing in the area with extensive collections featuring various dolls and toys from Japan and overseas. Then to Gyoda to see the amazing “World’s Largest Rice Paddy Art”. The huge picture in rice paddies are created by carefully planting different varieties of rice. From ground level, the designs are invisible. However, if you go up to the observatory you can see the entire image of amazing art work created with Rice Paddy Crops. Our hotel is located in a National Park surrounded by natural forest. There are lots of Onsen such as Jacuzzi, Zashiki (Tatami) Buro, etc. Enjoy your first Onsen Hot Spring of the tour!

SEP. 25 (FRI) KARUIZAWA,
KARUIZAWA PRINCE HOTEL EAST (ONSEN) ♨ 
Visit Nagatoro, surrounded by the beauty of nature that is designated as a “National Place of Scenic Beauty”. Enjoy River Boating and the gorgeous valley and views provided by strangely shaped rocks while cruising down powerful rapids and gentle currents. Visit Iwadatami where the rocks look like successive layers of tatami overlapping each other. This is Nagatoro’s breathtakingly beautiful naturally made work of art. Then to Tomioka Silk Mill, registered as a “World Heritage Site” in 2014 as Japan's oldest modern model silk reeling factory established in 1872. We will look inside this well preserved brick building which had been operating until 1987. This historic factory is a starting point of Japan’s modernization. Next proceed to Karuizawa, which thrived as “Japan’s Most Popular Upmarket Mountain Resort Area”. Our hotel is located close to Prince Shopping Plaza, a huge outlet mall offering a wide range of shopping opportunities. After hotel check-in, enjoy “Holo Holo” and shopping.

SEP. 26 (SAT) KUSATSU,
KUSATSU NOW RESORT HOTEL (ONSEN) ♨
In the morning, visit Shiraito Waterfall, a 10 feet high and 230 feet wide lovely waterfall. The sight of water falling down in slender streaks looking like so many white threads is indeed magnificent. Later visit Karuizawa Ginza Shopping Street, the main center of town. It has a pleasant atmosphere with venerable old stores, Souvenir Shop, Bakery, etc., standing side by side. Visit Onioshidashi Park which features a landscape of volcanic lava formed by a big eruption of Mt. Asama in 1783. Take a closer look at the volcanic rocks of various curious shapes and impressive panoramic site created by mother nature. Then head to Kusatsu, “One of Japan's Most Famous Hot Spring Resorts” because of its high quality hot spring water said to cure every illness. Upon arrival, for those who wish to, catch the hotel bus to Yubatake (hot spring field), “the Symbol-existence of Kusatsu”. We will see the Yumomi Show, to enjoy a traditional Kusatsu folk song and dance while they stir the bathwater with large wooden paddles. Soak and Relax in the Onsen Hot Spring Bath & Open Air Bath of “One of the Best Three Onsens in Japan”. A Private Onsen Bath is also available (At Your Own Expense).

SEP. 27 (SUN) MYOKO HIGHLAND,
APA RESORT JOETSU MYOKO (ONSEN) ♨
Enjoy driving along the Shiga-Kusatsu Scenic Road which runs through a series of volcanic peaks while viewing magnificent panoramic mountain scenery. The route is richly endowed with nature with a highest point of (7,125 feet) among the National Routes in Japan. Autumn colors can be spotted fairly early around here. Then proceed to Mayumi Takahashi Doll Museum. Life in the Japanese countryside is faithfully recreated with elaborate dolls. Heartwarming dolls take you into the quaint rural world in Japan. Then head to Kurohime Heights. If timing is right, we will see Cosmos blooming in the huge ski ground. (Blooming level depends on climate of the year). Our hotel sits on a highland area overlooking a magnificent view of the stunning and impressive mountain scenery. The annual Illumination Festival is held during this season. In the night, you can walk through “One of the World’s Largest Light Displays” which covers the huge ground in front of the hotel.

SEP. 28 (MON) HAKUBA,
SIERRA RESORT HAKUBA (ONSEN) ♨
Proceed to Nagano, the representative mountain resort area which is home to the majority of Japan’s highest mountain peaks. We will “have fun picking apples”. Nagano is the “2nd Largest Producer of Apple”. Nagano Apple is noted for its sweetness and great color. “Taste the Fresh and Juicy Nagano Apples” right in season. Later go to visit Nagano’s main attraction “Zenkoji Temple” revered for over 1,400 years as “Japan’s Primary Center of Buddhist Faith”. Its “National Treasure Main Hall” is nicely ornamented and praised as the “Masterpiece of Buddhist Architecture”. Then stop at Kinasa, a secluded small town nestled in the mountains. This town is known for delicious “Oyaki Bun”, one of the most famous local foods of Nagano. You will get a chance to try this nutritiously balanced snack that is a buckwheat bun stuffed with local vegetables or Anko bean paste. Later proceed to Hakuba, situated in the heart of breathtakingly beautiful Northern Japan Alps thus considered “Japan's Premier Alpine Resort Destination”. We will stay at an excellent mountain resort hotel which is ranked high in the “Most Popular Hotels in Japan” by TripAdviser. Enjoy the Hot Spring Bath where you can see the Japan Alps beyond the forest.

SEP. 29 (TUE) MATSUMOTO,
MATSUMOTO HOTEL KAGETSU
Hakuba was chosen as “One of Japan’s 36 Most Beautiful Places” by CNN. In the morning, we will stop at a good photo spot where you can see a beautiful view of the Northern Japan Alps. Then ride a gondola lift to get breathtaking views of the Northern Japan Alps. Later visit Azumino Art-Hills Museum boasting the “Largest Public Collection of Local and International Glassware”. You can find a great souvenir at this huge gift shop of various pieces of glass. Also visit Daisekkei Sake Brewery producing “High Quality Sake Using Pure Water from the Japan Alps and Locally Grown Rice”. Finally head to Matsumoto, a tranquil Old Castle Town nestled by the Japan Alps. We will stay at a lovely hotel located just a couple blocks from the Castle and Shopping Street. You will get a chance to visit Nawate-dori Shopping Street by walking. It gives the feeling of an “Old Castle Town” lined with around 40 Shops including Antique Shops, Candy Stores, Senbei Rice Cracker Shop, etc.

SEP. 30 (WED) MATSUMOTO,
 MATSUMOTO HOTEL KAGETSU
Head to Kamikochi, selected as “One of the Most Scenic Spots in Japan” which is surrounded by lofty peaks of 10,000 feet high mountains. Pass by Taisho Pond to visit the “Kappa Bridge” (a suspension bridge) over the crystal clear water. It is the best example of how naturally blessed Japan is. Nagano is famous for its Shinshu Miso which is made by many premium miso manufacturers with histories of over 100 years. We will visit Ishii Miso Factory producing miso by a unique traditional natural method since 1868. See the “Process of Making Local Shinshu Miso, Taste Miso Soup and Purchase Them”. For those who wish to, we will take you to Matsumoto Castle, designated as a “National Treasure”. The oldest castle donjon remaining in Japan has been praised as the “One of the Most Complete and Beautiful among Japan’s Original Castles”.

OCT. 1 (THU) KOMAGANE HIGHLAND,
KOMAGANE RESORT LINX (ONSEN) ♨
Go to Narai Juku Old Town, a picture perfect small town registered as “One of the Most Important Traditional Building Conservation Areas in Japan”. Stroll through this delightful main street almost resembling a historic film set with a variety of wooden plasters and Old Edo-style Buildings surrounded by a spectacular backdrop of forested mountains. Then visit Hombo Mars Distillery. Recently Japan’s luscious and silky whisky has been very popular around the world. Their whisky has a full and balanced flavor. You can sample whisky and purchase it. Also visit Kanten Papa Garden. Kanten (agar) is a Japanese traditional food made from seaweed. You will see various healthy, tasty and easy to prepare Kanten products such as instant soup, gelatin, pudding, etc. Later go to our hotel which is a secluded and lovely mountain resort hotel surrounded by forest. Soak and Relax in the Onsen Hot Spring Bath.

OCT. 2 (FRI) TOYOHASHI,
LOISIR HOTEL TOYOHASHI
In the morning, ride the Komagane Ropeway, which carries you 3,117 feet high into the sky. From an altitude of 8,570 feet, You can enjoy the superb panoramic view of Southern and Northern Japan Alps, Mt. Fuji (Weather permitting). It will be the season of Autumn color. If timing is right, a slope at a height of over 8,000 feet becomes a colorful tapestry interwoven with the red leaves of the mountain ash trees. Later visit the fruit farm to enjoy Berry Daifuku-mochi making. Make your own Berry Daifuku (Soft tender Mochi with sweet Anko wrapped around strawberry and blueberry) and taste it with tea. Then go to Toyohashi. Our hotel is located right next to MEGA Don Quijote Shopping Mall. You can enjoy shopping before and after dinner.

OCT. 3 (SAT) TOYOHASHI,
LOISIR HOTEL TOYOHASHI
Visit Toyokawa Inari Shrine, “One of Japan’s Big Three Inari Shrines” which deifies the fox as a god of business prosperity and family well-being. You will see thousands of stone foxes and carvings located throughout the picturesque precincts. It is definitely an interesting and unique place. Later enjoying shopping at Laguna Ten Bosch, a big shopping place carrying a variety of local specialties including dried seafood, local snacks, sweets, etc. Main feature in this area is Ebi Senbei (Shrimp Chips). You can sample lots of flavors and purchase it. Also visit the AEON Shopping Mall for Shopping and Lunch. After going back to the hotel “FREE TIME” to finish Shopping, Packing, etc. We will give everyone a carton box to use for packing their gifts. 2 pieces Per Person Baggage Allowance. Any excess will be paid for by the member. (Lunch & Dinner will be at your own expense.)    

OCT. 4 (SUN ) CHUBU AIRPORT NAGOYA / HONOLULU {ONLY BREAKFAST IS INCLUDED THIS DAY}
At check-out time our agent will come around to tape and tie-up the boxes and take the baggage’s to be checked-in down. In the afternoon go to Chubu Centrair International Airport, Nagoya to catch a flight in the evening to Honolulu. Arrive in the same morning, October 4, 2020 (SUN). After clearing U.S. Customs, proceed home. (Lunch & Dinner will be at your own expense.) 

Clients remaining back will be assisted in obtaining train, plane and hotel reservations. Members may return to Honolulu individually but no later than 3 months from day of departure. Weekday returns will cost less per person. Please call our office if you are extending your stay. MAHALO!
