TOUR ITINERARY
13 APR (TUE) HONOLULU
Leave Daniel K. Inouye Int’l Airport. Dinner and Breakfast will be served aboard the flight. Free Movies and Drinks.

14 APR (WED) YOKOHAMA,
YOKOHAMA BAY SHERATON HOTEL & TOWERS
Arrive at Narita Int’l Airport and after clearing government formalities, By bus to hotel in Yokohama, 2nd largest city in Japan. Hotel is connected to underground shopping mall with department store, 100-yen shop, Big Electronics Store, Supermarket, etc. After hotel check-in, tour guide will take you Holo-Holo around the hotel.

15 APR (THU) YOKOHAMA / TOKYO,
YOKOHAMA BAY SHERATON HOTEL & TOWERS
In the morning, visit Yokohama Central Wholesale Market to enjoy shopping of Japanese traditional foods, such as Tsukemono (pickles), Umeboshi, Nori seaweed, etc., at a wholesale price. Then head to Tokyo to visit Shinjuku Gyoen Park that holds over 65 varieties of 1,300 Sakura trees. This urban park is Tokyo’s most popular place to see the double-flowered cherry blossom “Yaezakura.” It will be the season to admire the enchanting varieties of Yaezakura depending with the help of mother nature. And visit Ameyoko, one of Japan’s most popular shopping streets, filled with many shops offering discounts on all kinds of products including dried seafood, candies, T-shirts, snacks, etc. Then go back to the hotel in Yokohama. Upon arrival, enjoy shopping or just rest.

16 APR (FRI) SENDAI,
HOTEL METROPOLITAN SENDAI
Visit Sankeien Garden, a spacious classical Japanese style garden with historic buildings, pond, seasonal flowers, wonderful walking trails that make you feel like you are in Kyoto. Enjoy peaceful walk in the “Best Japanese garden in Yokohama.” After enjoy shopping and lunch at Aqua City Shopping Mall in Odaiba, catch a Tohoku Shinkansen Bullet Train from Tokyo Station. Enjoy an amazing experience by train with speeds reaching up to 199 M.P.H! After arrival in Sendai, largest city in the Tohoku region which is known as a “modern city in harmony with nature,” walk to hotel located next to Sendai station. After hotel check in, you can visit its shopping area carrying local souvenirs, traditional crafts, etc.

17 APR (SAT) YAMAGATA,
HOTEL METROPOLITAN YAMAGATA
In the morning, visit Aoba Castle Ruin built in 1600 by Date Masamune the legendary Samurai warlord known as “Dokuganryu” the one-eyed dragon. A typical Japanese hilltop Castle with a massive Statue of him riding a horse is the symbol of the city. If the timing is right, we will see Cherry Blossoms around the castle grounds. Then head to Yamagata, Japan’s premier Sake-producing region beloved for its clean and light flavor Sake. Visit Dewazakura Sake Brewery founded in 1892 “One of the Japan’s most prestigious Sake breweries.” They produce a delicious and smooth tasting Sake with a sweet fruity fragrant. This Sake is often called “Wine drinkers’ Sake.” Fruity flavor compares to certain white wines. They have won Gold medals for 19 consecutive years by the U.S. National Sake Appraisal. Then proceed to our hotel, that is connecting to Yamagata station and its shopping building which you can buy local souvenirs, etc. After hotel check in tour guide will take you to shopping area.

18 APR (SUN) NIIGATA,
HOTEL OKURA NIIGATA
Visit “Kajo park” that is the “Best Sakura cherry blossom viewing spot in Yamagata” with about 1,500 cherry trees. If timing is right, we will see the spectacular reflection of cherry blossoms on the surface of the castle moat with the majestic entrance of the main gate of the castle. Later head to the beautiful and rustic old castle town of Yonezawa is known for traditional cloth weaving used by the powerful Uesugi clan and is nationally famous for Yonezawa beef. We will enjoy the National Traditional Craft of Safflower dying experience. You can make your own “One and Only” souvenir of Yonezawa. Then proceed to Niigata City and our hotel located along the longest river in Japan the Shinano River. After hotel check in, tour guide will take you Holo Holo near the hotel.

19 APR (MON) SADO ISLAND,
FAMILIO SADO AIKAWA (ONSEN) ♨
Board the Jetfoil to Sado Island, Japan’s 6th largest island filled with a lot of picturesque scenery, an interesting history, unique culture, traditional arts, and entertainments. After we will enjoy riding Tarai-bune an old-style Japanese fishing tub boat. We will visit Mano Park praised as the “Best Sakura viewing place in Sado.” The park should be filled with Cherry blossoms blooming during this time of year. Then visit Obata Sake Brewery, Enjoy the fine taste of the famous Sado Sake and see a short English movie about Sake. Next visit Meoto (husband and wife) Rocks to view fantastic scenery of Sado Island. These 2 huge rocks standing next to each other like a couple. You can buy famous local salt here. Hotel is a pleasant beachside resort offers a grand view of the East Sea from your room. Soak and Relax in Onsen hot spring bath.

20 APR (TUE) NIIGATA,
HOTEL OKURA NIIGATA
Continue to visit highlight attractions on Sado Island. Visit Sado Gold Mine had been operating for 388 years since 1601. We will go inside the mine with its robotic display that recreate scenes from the old gold mining days. For those who have been here before, you can try Doyuko Course with actual hauling inspection tunnel which had been used until 1989. You will see symbolic Doyu-no Wareto (split mountain) at the end of this route. Later stop at Toki (Crested Ibis) no Mori Park to see symbolic bird of Sado Island “Toki (Crested Ibis)” which is once became extinct in Japan. You will be able to see a real living Toki, an internationally protected species with your own eyes. Then catch a Jetfoil to go back to Niigata city. After arrival at hotel, free time to enjoy shopping, meet your relatives or just rest.

21 APR (WED) AKAKURA HEIGHTS,
AKAKURA KANKO HOTEL (ONSEN) ♨
Niigata is known as the “Rice capital of Japan” and the “Best rice in Japan” and “High-quality rice products.” We will visit Senbei Kingdom to enjoy “Grilling your own Senbei (rice cracker).” You can also buy fresh Senbei at the factory store. Next visit Niigata Furusato Village to see the history and culture of Niigata and enjoy shopping for local specialties such as Traditional handicraft, Sake, Dried Seafood, etc. Afterwards enjoy Strawberry Picking tasting fresh and sweet a Japanese strawberry in season. Then proceed to Akakura Heights. We will stay at the Classic Japanese Mountain Resort hotel nestled high (Altitude 3,300 feet) on the slopes of majestic Mt. Myoko. Enjoy ultimate Japanese Mountain Resort experience with Hot Spring Bath and Open-Air Bath with beautiful Mountain scenery. They have 1 Private Onsen available free of charge.

22 APR (THU) KOMAGANE HEIGHTS,
KOMAGANE RESORT LINX (ONSEN) ♨
Head to Obuse, renowned for its charming streets with historic sites where Japanese tourists love and known as “Little Kyoto in Nagano”. We will visit Katsushika Hokusai Museum. Katsushika Hokusai (1760~1849) is author of Japan’s exquisite and aesthetic Ukiyoe Woodblock Prints. Enjoy Japanese beauty through exhibits of his celebrated beautiful masterpieces. Obuse is also famous for its delicious Chestnuts. There is a good chance to buy a variety of locally grown chestnuts products such as Chestnuts Yokan, Kuri paste, etc. We will visit Floral Garden Obuse, a symbol as a flower town. There is a greenhouse containing over 5,000 tropical plants grown in a giant flower bed, planted with colorful pansies, etc. It creates beautiful scenery. Then head to Komagane Heights located at the foot of the magnificent Southern and Central Japan Alps. Our hotel is secluded and lovely mountain resort hotel surrounded by forest. Soak and relax in Onsen hot spring bath.

23 APR (FRI) HAMAMATSU,
HOTEL CROWN PALAIS HAMAMATSU
In the morning, see Hanamomo (Hana Peach) Blossom. This is unusual type of peach tree with 3 different shades of pink flowers blooming from 1 tree. If the timing is right the whole village will be filled with pink color. This beautiful scenery is called “Shangri-La in Japan.” Later visit Magomejuku Old town where you can experience the Edo period (17th - 19th century) of ancient Japan in the well-preserved post station. You will be able to stroll through the charming stone paved street featuring Edo style houses built using local techniques using materials of unique wooden and plaster. You will feel like you traveled back in time to Samurai period! Then proceed to the “City of Music” Hamamatsu city is world renowned for musical instrument manufacturing center. Our hotel is located within easy walking distance to Hamamatsu station and its shopping area.

24 APR (SAT) HAMAMATSU,
HOTEL CROWN PALAIS HAMAMATSU
Visit the famous Eel pie (!!) factory. Eel pie is the kind of pie cookie and the most popular souvenir in this area. Lake Hamana is famous for the eel farming. This delicious cookie doesn’t taste or smell like eel at all. We will visit their factory and see how this local specialty is made. You can buy freshly made ones at the factory store. After enjoy lunch and shopping at Aeon Shopping Mall, we will visit Hamamatsu Museum of Musical Instruments that house over 1,500 instruments from all over the world. Learn about the way they sound and how they are played. You may feel like you are taking an instrumental trip around the world. (Lunch and dinner will be at your own expense.)

25 APR (SUN) HAMAMATSU / HONOLULU
At checkout time our agent will come to tape & tie-up the boxes and take the baggage to be checked-in down. Afternoon proceed to Chubu Int’l Airport to catch Flight in the evening to Honolulu. Arrive in Honolulu the same morning, 25 APR (SUN) After clearing U.S. Customs, proceed home. (Lunch and dinner will be at your own expense.) 

Clients remaining back will be assisted in obtaining plane, train and hotel reservations. Members may return to Honolulu individually, but no later than 90 days from day of departure. Weekend returns will cost more per person. Please call our office if you are extending your stay. MAHALO!
