TOUR ITINERARY
25 MAR (THU) HONOLULU
Leave Daniel K. Inouye Int’l Airport. Dinner and Breakfast will be served aboard the flight. Free Movies and Drinks.

26 MAR (FRI) KOBE,
ANA CROWNE PLAZA HOTEL KOBE
Arrive at Kansai Int’l Airport and after clearing government formalities, by bus to Kobe, one of the most pleasant cities in west Japan. We will stay at a luxury hotel connected to Shin-Kobe train station building.

27 MAR (SAT) OKAYAMA,
HOTEL GRANVIA OKAYAMA
In the morning, we will ride the Shinkansen Bullet Train from Shin Kobe Station to Okayama Station. What an amazing experience reaching speeds up to 186 mph! Okayama is nicknamed the “Fruit Kingdom” because of their different varieties of sweet and delicious high-quality fruits. Upon arrival we will transfer to our bus to enjoy Strawberry Picking in season. You will be able to eat as many fresh and sweet Japanese Strawberry. Then head to Fukiya Furusato Village called “Hidden Miracle village” with a unique and distinctive townscape. This picturesque preserved town has a very remarkable appearance because the entire village is unified with a brownish-red (Iron oxide) color material called “Bengala.” The row of red colored traditional local houses lined the streets that have been beautifully preserved since the Edo period (17th century). Then go back to Okayama and our hotel located by a big Aeon Shopping Mall where you can enjoy shopping and dinner for your favorite food here!

28 MAR (SUN) MATSUE,
MATSUE EXCEL HOTEL TOKYU
Go to Historical Preservation District of Katsuyama. Enjoy strolling along the authentic old Japanese street with a traditional white-walled storehouses called “Kura” and merchant houses adorned with colorful and distinctive designs of “Noren” Curtains. This beautiful old townscape has selected for a “Beautiful Townscape Award” and “One of the Best 100 walking streets in Japan.” Later visit Yasugi-bushi Entertainment Hall to enjoy live performance of Yasugi-bushi which is one of Japan’s most famous 300 years old traditional local folk songs associated with Dojo Sukui (loach-scooping) dance, famous for its comical facial expressions and pelvis movements. Then head to Matsue, called “Water city” due to its location sandwiched between Lake Shinji and the Japan sea. Hotel is located across Matsue Station and department store. Enjoy shopping after hotel check in.

29 MAR (MON) MATSUE / IZUMO,
MATSUE EXCEL HOTEL TOKYU
Visit symbol of Matsue, Matsue Castle built in 1611 is one of only 5 castles designated as a National Treasure. You can go inside the original castle tower for a panoramic view of the surrounding cityscape, Lake Shinji and Mt. Daisen. Later visit Izumo Taisha Grand Shrine, Japan’s oldest shrine dated back to 1,500 years ago and considered as “Japan’s 2nd most important shrine.” This region was believed the annual gathering place of Shinto’s 8 million Gods. You will feel the spiritual, sacred, and serene ambiance in the “Land of the Gods.” Then proceed to Matsue Vogel Park, with stunning exhibits of amazing flowers and lovely birds in a gorgeous natural setting. Enjoy strolling several greenhouses filled with magnificent plants and birds. Also, you can enjoy feeding the birds and watching the Flying Owl Show. In the evening enjoy Lake Shinji Sunset Dinner Cruise. Lake Shinji is particularly famous for its breathtaking sunsets. Take a leisurely Sunset dinner cruise taking in a spectacular orange sunset over the lake with a traditional castle town scenery.

30 MAR (TUE) TOTTORI,
HOTEL NEW OTANI TOTTORI
In the morning, visit Sakaiminato Fish Center to enjoy shopping for dried seafood and seaweed from the Japan Sea. You can try at your own expense boiled Snow Crab freshly land at Skaiminato Port. Then go to Encho-en Garden with beautiful Chinese architecture to look around and watch a Chinese Acrobatic show. Enjoy the amazing unbelievable show performed by talented artists who perform stunts. Then had to Tottori Dune 1 of “Japan’s 36 most beautiful places” selected by CNN. The largest dune in Japan stretching 10 miles long and 1.5 miles width facing to the Japan Sea. Enjoy breathtaking, beautiful natural land formation, created by sand and winds over the last 100,000 years. Our hotel is located right in front of Tottori Station and next to Daimaru department store. Enjoy Holo-Holo after hotel check-in.

31 MAR (WED) MIYAZU, KYOTO,
HOTEL & RESORTS KYOTO MIYAZU(ONSEN) ♨
Go to San’in Kaigan UNESCO Global Geopark to visit Genbudo Cave Museum. See various kinds of magnificent minerals including jewels, curious stones and fossil remains collected from around the world. If you wish to you can walk up steps to see Genbudo Cave (lava flow rock formation). The marvelous landscape formed by the eruption of 1.6 million years ago. Then stop at Konotori (Oriental Stork) no Sato Park to see a special protected animal on the sanctuary grounds. Wild Konotori in Japan was eradicated in 1971. Storks were obtained from Russia and been successfully reintroduced into the wild and became the symbol of the area. Later visit one of Japan’s 3 best scenic views, “Amano Hashidate,” a 2-mile long sandbar lined with a thick grove of pine trees and has been called as a place of incomparable beauty since ancient times. We will catch a cable car to the observatory in Kasamatsu Park. Try bending down and looking at the view through your spread legs. It is said that the view will resemble a “Bridge to the Heaven”. Then go to luxurious resort hotel overlooking Amano Hashidate. Soak and relax in Open air Hot Spring bath.

1 APR (THU) NARA,
HOTEL NIKKO NARA
Head to Sasayama, an old castle town full of historical and cultural attractions. Visit Sasayama Castle Oshoin the Great Reception Room, which is completely restored large scaled building where important political meeting used to be held. Also see the original stonewall built in 1609 which is designated as the National Historic Site. Later stop at Tamba Traditional Art Craft Park, the original place of Tamba Pottery which produced pottery for 800 years. It features a distinctive rustic coloring with simple and calm appearance. You can see countless displays from famous “Old Tamba” antiques to modern works and purchase from 50 pottery producers. Later head to Nara, the first permanent capital of Japan founded in 710. Nara has been praised as one of Japan’s most rewarding travel destinations where you can savor the traditional beauty of Japan. Our hotel is located close to the Nara train station. After hotel arrival, tour guide will take you Holo-Holo around the station area.

2 APR (FRI) NARA,
HOTEL NIKKO NARA 
All day Kyoto City Tour! The old imperial capital and cultural heart of Japan that carries the reputation as “Most beautiful city in Japan”. We Will visit Arashiyama, one of Kyoto’s most important sightseeing districts since ancient times. Pleasant scenery combined with its landmark Togetsu Bridge, river flow and the thickly forested mountain in the background is breathtaking. Having fun riding the Sagano Scenic Railway known for its charming and old fashioned “Torokko Train.” This open window train gives you nice breeze while viewing beautiful river flow with forested ravine during the ride. Then visit one of the most familiar symbols of Kyoto, Kinkakuji Temple, known as the famed “Golden Pavilion” positioned scenically over the reflecting pond often called Kyoto’s most impressive sight. Also visit Nishijin Textile Museum. A great place to take in the beauty of the Nishijin textiles with a long history dating back to 16th century. 

3 APR (SAT) LAKE HAMANA,
HOTEL TOKYU HARVEST CLUB HAMANAKO
Visit World heritage Todaiji temple, one of Japan’s most famous and historically significant temples which originally constructed in 752. Daibutsuden the Big Buddha Hall is the world’s largest wooden building that holds the world’s largest bronze statue “50 feet high tall Big Buddha” which widely admired and worshipped as a symbol of the ancient capital of Japan. Then proceed to Toyota Commemorative Museum of Industry and Technology. Learn the history how Toyota established and has been developing from very early period when Toyota was a department of loom making company with 4,000 of dynamic displays of original equipment. Then head to Shizuoka Prefecture, an important point of Tokaido road. We will stay at a nice resort hotel located beside Lake Hamana, the largest of all brackish lakes in Japan and a very scenic place with beautiful surroundings. Soak and Relax in the Big Public Bath and Open-Air Jacuzzi Bath (Not a Onsen Hot spring).

4 APR (SUN) DAIBA, TOKYO,
GRAND NIKKO TOKYO DAIBA
Shizuoka is the “Green tea capital” responsible for over 40% of Japan’s tea production. Visit Green Pia Makinohara to enjoy tasting Japanese tea and shopping for green tea and tea products. If the weather is fine, we will ride the Fuji Sky View Ferris wheel that overlooks Mt. Fuji on our way to Hakone an internationally well-known holiday resort within Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park. We will visit Owakudani Valley, also called Jigokudani “the Hell Valley,” a volcanic valley with active sulfur and hot springs. A short walking trail leads into the volcanic zone with several steam vents and bubbling pools. Then head to our hotel in Daiba, a new major shopping district of Tokyo. Hotel is easy walking distance to Aqua City Shopping Mall with 100-YEN shop, restaurant section, Ramen alley, etc. After hotel check in, your tour guide will take you to shopping area. In the evening, beautiful illumination of Rainbow Bridge and Tokyo tower, etc., can be seen from right in front of our hotel.

5 APR (MON) DAIBA, TOKYO,
GRAND NIKKO TOKYO DAIBA
All day Tokyo City Tour! Enjoy riding Yurikamome, Tokyo’s new waterfront transit system to visit Toyosu Wholesale Market opened in 2018 to enjoy shopping for Dried Seafood, Tsukudani, Tsukemono pickles, etc (those who want to). Next, proceed by bus to Asakusa, Tokyo’s most visited tourist destination. Visit Senso-ji Temple Tokyo’s oldest temple originally built in the 7th century. Also, you will get chance to walk through and shop at Nakamise Shopping street, lined with many traditional souvenir shops and food stalls begin from Kaminari Gate with large red lantern that is familiar landmark of Tokyo. (Lunch and dinner will be at your own expense.)

6 APR (TUE) TOKYO / HONOLULU
At checkout time our agent will come to tape and tie-up the boxes and take the baggage to be checked-in down. Afternoon proceed to Narita Airport to catch flight in the evening to Honolulu. Arrive in Honolulu the same morning, 6 APR (TUE) After clearing U.S. Customs, proceed home. (Lunch and dinner will be at your own expense.) 

Clients remaining back will be assisted in obtaining plane, train, and hotel reservations. Members may return to Honolulu individually, but no later than 90 days from day of departure. Weekend returns will cost more per person. Please call our office if you are extending your stay. MAHALO!
