Departing Daniel K. Inouye International Airport on Japan Airline Flight #73 at 11:40 A.M. A meal and snack will be served aboard the flight. Free Movies and Drinks.


02 DEC (MON) KAWASAKI,

HOTEL METROPOLITAN KAWASAKI

Arrive at Haneda International Airport at 3:55 P.M. and after entry formalities, proceed by bus to our hotel in Kawasaki. Kawasaki city is the 3rd largest city in the Tokyo metropolitan area. We will stay 3 nights at this hotel that’s within walking distance to Kawasaki Train Station, and Lazona Shopping mall with over 300 shops.


03 DEC (TUE) KAWASAKI,

HOTEL METROPOLITAN KAWASAKI

Today we will enjoy “Momiji gari” or “Autumn Leaf-Hunting” one of Japan’s fascinating Tradition in Autumn. We will drive around the Tokyo metropolitan area to take in the incredible fall colors. First, we will drive by Meiji shrine Outer Precinct, noted as the most beautiful Autumn foliage spot in Central Tokyo. If timing is right, we will see rows of uniquely trimmed Ginkgo trees with stunning golden color leaves. The drive pass the National Diet Building will lead us to another famous spot with a superb view of beautiful foliage of the Ginkgo trees. We will then proceed to Toyosu, home of Tokyo’s largest wholesale market. We will also visit Tokyo’s newest attraction Senkyaku Banrai a shopping and entertainment facility that open in February 2024. We will enjoy shopping and strolling its retail section of “Edomae Market.” That’s drawn rich inspiration from the streets of past of Tokyo’s, Edo period (1603-1868). We will visit Tokyo Tower; this famous red and white colored tower is the defining image of Tokyo. The 1,092 ft. tall tower is one of Tokyo’s most iconic structures and remains a beloved symbol of the capital for over 60 years. We will ascend to the observation deck which provides extensive panoramic views of Tokyo. We will also visit Zojoji temple, that was originally built in 1393 and was the family temple of Tokugawa Shoguns that ruled Japan in (1603-1868) Edo period. The beautiful and peaceful temple’s massive main building with the symbolic Tokyo Tower in the background makes for a postcard like pictures. In the evening, you can enjoy Yokohama Night View tour. Yorunoyo Night Illumination Festival will be held during this season. The city transforms into a light up magical winter wonderland by special performances consisting of elaborate and beautiful illuminations and searchlights with large-scale projection mapping.


04 DEC (WED) KAWASAKI - KAMAKURA,

HOTEL METROPOLITAN KAWASAKI

We will go to the historical picturesque town of Kamakura; the city has retained traces of the turbulent medieval Japan. It has a long and illustrious history reflected in its architectural legacy in shrines and temples. We will visit Kamakura’s most important and significant shrine Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine. It became the center of politics and culture during the Kamakura Period (1185-1333). The fabulous Autumn colors leaves of reds and yellows blend remarkably with the shrine buildings making it an unforgettable sight. Later we will enjoy a leisurely stroll on Komachi Street lined with Japanese-style sweet shops, Traditional souvenir shops, etc. We will also visit the Great Buddha of Kamakura this is Japan’s second largest bronze Buddha statue and the symbol of Kamakura standing at 43.8 ft. It was cast in 1252 and designated as a National Treasure.


05 DEC (THU) AKISHIMA,

FOREST INN SHOWAKAN

Today we will visit Ameyoko, one of Japan’s Most Popular Shopping Streets that’s filled with over 400 shops offering discounts on all kinds of items including seafood, sweets, T-shirts, snacks etc. After bargain shopping, we will visit the Japan Open-Air Folk House Museum, this outdoor museum contains 25 well preserved traditional Japanese houses that were relocated here from all over Japan. You will see traditional farmhouses, samurai houses, merchant houses, houses from post towns, homes from fishing villages and a kabuki stage are set within a beautiful scenic location. You will feel like you are taking a trip back in time while strolling around these buildings. Later we will visit Tokyo’s largest amusement park Yomiuri Land to see its popular “Jewellumination” combining the 2 words Jewels and Illumination is the largest illumination festival in Kanto region. This amusement park will be lit up by 6.5 million lights with a beautiful winter landscape sparkling like a thousand jewels. Lastly, we will proceed to Akishima in western Tokyo with nearby Yokota Air Base. We will stay at quiet urban resort hotel within a 16-acre of forest where you can enjoy a peaceful walk in the morning while viewing Autumn colored trees.


06 DEC (FRI) LAKE YAMANAKA,

HOTEL MOUNT FUJI (ONSEN)

This morning we will visit Mt. Takao, or Takaosan this 599-meter mountain is still located within metropolitan Tokyo is one of the closest natural recreational areas offering beautiful scenery, an interesting temple and attractive hiking opportunities. The appeal of Mt. Takao is that even elderly people and families with small children can easily reach the midway point of the mountain. We will ride up and down on one of Japan’s steepest Cable Car we will climbs up 889 ft. difference of elevation in about 6 minutes the to enjoy the beautiful Autumn scenery depending on climate of the year. On a clear day you can observe a superb view of the Kanto plain, skyscrapers of downtown Tokyo, etc. Later visit Saru-hashi (Monkey bridge), 1 of 3 most famous ancient bridges in Japan, designated as National Place of Scenic Beauty. This bridge keeps its original form made by layering bridge girders without using any pier in the last 1,300 years. Then visit Maglev Exhibition Center. The world’s fastest bullet train at 374 MPH based on Maglev technology will start operation in 2027. We will learn about the superconductive linear mechanisms in detail. We will head to Lake Yamanaka, the largest of the 5 lakes of Mt. Fuji. Mt. Fuji is best visible in winter and the chances are best at that timing. We will stay 2 nights at this hotel located in highland look over the lake Yamanaka and Mt Fuji. Soak and Relax in Onsen Hot Spring bath and Open-air bath with spectacular view of Mt. Fuji.


07 DEC (SAT) LAKE YAMANAKA,

In the morning we will visit the Herb Garden Tabi-nikki to take an easy stroll around the botanical garden along with herbal flowers. You will be able to enjoy tasting different herb tea and shopping for herbal products like natural and organic cosmetics, hand cream, soap, etc. With the onset of winter one popular sight in these areas are farmhouses and homes using traditional way of “Drying Persimmons” you will see them hanging from the overhangs of these buildings. This sight will create an attractive photo opportunity for you. You will be able to purchase this Japanese Dried Persimmons as they are a delicacy in winter. We will also experience an exciting attraction at the foot of Mt. Fuji. “Fuji Airways” is called the “Next generation Movie Theater.” This virtual 4-D flight simulation ride will give you a full sensory experience with stunning aerial views of Mt. Fuji. For those that still have energy we will take you to Lake Yamanaka Art Illumination Festival. We will see about 100 different illumination displays over a huge area creating a brilliant scene of lights. You can enjoy a relaxing soaking in Onsen Hot Spring bath & Open-air bath.


08 DEC (SUN) IZU HATAKE ONSEN,

DAISENYA (ONSEN)

We will visit Chichibunomiya Memorial Park. This was originally Gotemba imperial villa where former Prince and Princess stayed during and after World War II. You can stroll around the garden with Autumn leaves from which Mt. Fuji can be seen on clear days. We will then proceed to Atami in Izu Peninsula, a pleasant seaside resort town famous for its scenic beauty with seasonal aspects surrounded by the sea and mountains. We will visit Atami Baien Garden, known as the latest Autumn color to change in Japan. We will enjoy its Maple Festival. You can see picturesque Autumn sceneries while strolling along the pathway with beautifully colored maple trees along stream. We will also enjoy the popular seasonal attraction in Izu is Mikan Tangerine picking. “Izu Mikan Tangerine” has the perfect balance of sweetness and tang. Afterwards we will head to our onsen resort hotel where Mt. Fuji can be seen on clear day. Enjoy a delicious Japanese Kaiseki dinner in the evening and a relaxing soak at Onsen Hot Spring bath and Open-air bath.


09 DEC (MON) NIHONDAIRA PLATEAU,

NIPPONDAIRA HOTEL

Today we will head to Shuzenji, one of the oldest and most famous hot spring resort towns in Izu. This area is well-known to see the Autumn Color. We will visit the Shuzenji Maple Forest where you can take a picture of over 1,000 Japanese Maple trees with deep crimson leaves making your pictures stand out with the autumn scenery. Later we will visit Izunokuni Panorama Park to ride Rope way up 1,483 ft high mountain top where you can enjoy stunning beautiful landscapes with Mt. Fuji on clear day. We will visit Japan’s longest pedestrian only suspension bridge at 1,312 feet long “Mishima Skywalk.” Here you can see “3 of Japan’s Bests” all at once. The bridge is the longest pedestrian suspension bridge in Japan, Mt. Fuji is the highest mountain in Japan and Suruga Bay is the deepest bay in Japan. We will stay at Deluxe Resort hotel located on the top of Nihondaira Plateau which is the #1 “Plains” in Japan’s top 100 sightseeing destinations because of the greatest view of Mt. Fuji. Tonight’s hotel our room will have a large picture window facing Mt. Fuji, you can enjoy breathtaking view of Mt. Fuji while lying down in bed (wishing good weather!)


10 DEC (TUE) GOTEMBA,

GOTEMBA KOGEN HOTEL (ONSEN)

We will go to Shizuoka and widely known as the “Green tea capital” that’s been producing over 40% of Japan’s tea production. We will visit a Japanese tea factory here you can sample and purchase the famous Shizuoka “Deep-Steamed Green Teas” which is said to be the Best Tasting than all other types of Japanese Green Tea. We will head to AEON Shopping Mall for some shopping and lunch. Afterwards we will visit another World Heritage Site “Shiraito Falls” (White Thread) this falls has been designated as National Place of Scenic Beauty and Natural Treasure of Japan. The 492 feet wide cascade is fed by snowmelt water from Mt. Fuji and flows off the edge of a 66 feet high arc-shaped cliff. Hundreds of thin white waterfalls that looks like white silk threads from the lava wall. Next, we will proceed to Gotemba, which boast the most beautiful views of Mt. Fuji on a clear day. We will stay at popular resort hotel which is located in the Gotemba highlands resort complex. In the evening you can enjoy a spectacular Night Illumination featuring 5.5 million lights in 1,500 feet long tunnel. You can experience this fascinating display of lights and winter atmosphere after dinner. Afterwards you can also enjoy a relaxing soak at the Onsen Hot Spring bath this will be your last chance to visit an onsen.


11 DEC (WED) YOKOHAMA,

YOKOHAMA BAY SHERATON HOTEL & TOWERS

Today we will head to Hakone a well know sightseeing place for Japanese and foreign tourists with views of Mt. Fuji. We will enjoy peaceful Boat Cruise on calm Lake Ashi surrounded by beautiful mountains. You will see the best views of the lake in combination with Mt. Fuji by boat. We will then go to Odawara originally developed as a castle town in the 16th century. We will visit the newly opened Totoco Odawara, a shopping complex carrying local seafood, marine products, and souvenirs that represent Odawara’s prosperous days as a castle town during the Edo period. Later head to Yokohama, 2nd largest city in Japan. We will stay 2 nights at hotel which is connecting to underground shopping mall and within easy walking distance to department stores, big electronics store, 100 Yen shop, etc. After hotel check-in, tour guide will take you “Holo-Holo” around the hotel.


12 DEC (THU) YOKOHAMA,

YOKOHAMA BAY SHERATON HOTEL & TOWERS

In the morning we will visit Yokohama Wholesale Market to buy Japanese traditional foods such as Tsukemono pickles, Umeboshi, etc., at wholesale price. Afterwards, we will visit World Porters Shopping Mall for lunch and shopping. We will drive through Yamashita Park Avenue hopefully timing is right as the streets will be lined with golden carpet of ginkgo leaves. We will take a relaxing cruise on the Sea Bass Ocean bus. Sailing round the bay and enjoying the fresh ocean breeze is a very enjoyable way to view Yokohama’s most famous landmarks. You will get a chance to visit the Yokohama Christmas Market as well. After going back to the hotel, you will have Free Time to continue shopping, packing etc. (Lunch/Dinner will be at your own expense)


13 DEC (FRI) YOKOHAMA / HONOLULU

At checkout time our agents will come to tape and tie-up the boxes and take the baggage to be checked-in down. We will proceed by bus to Haneda International Airport to catch Japan Airline Flight #74 departing at 9:00 P.M. Upon arrival we will check in for our international flight to Honolulu. Arrive in Honolulu the same day 13 DEC (FRI) After clearing U.S. Customs, proceed home. (Lunch/dinner will be at your own expense.) 


Clients remaining back will be assisted in obtaining plane, train, and hotel reservations. Members may return to Honolulu individually, but no later than 90 days from day of departure. Weekend returns will cost more per person. Please call our office if you are extending your stay. MAHALO!
