FEB. 06 (SAT) HONOLULU

Leave Honolulu Int’l Airport via Japan Airlines flight. Lunch and a snack will be served aboard the flight. FREE MOVIES and DRINKS.

FEB. 07 (SUN) NARITA/CHITOSE HOTEL NIKKO CHITOSE

Arrive at Narita Int’l Airport and after government formalities, transfer to your connecting flight to Chitose Int’l Airport in Hokkaido. Upon arrival, go directly to your hotel in Chitose City. {About 15 min. from the airport}.

FEB. 08 (MON) LAKE SHIKOTSU / SAPPORO SAPPORO CENTURY ROYAL HOTEL

In the morning, go to the shoe store to buy your snowshoes before heading to Lake Shikotsu to see its popular “Hyoto Matsuri” Festival with Ice Sculptures made of water from the lake. Then to Sapporo, Hokkaido’s largest city and visit the Asahi Beer Brewery (HIC!). View the displays in the factory showroom and “Taste the Freshly Brewed Beer”! Later pass by the symbol of Sapporo, the famous “Clock Tower” on the way to the hotel. After dinner, visit the “61st Anniversary Sapporo Snow Festival Odori Park Site” to enjoy the night view of the illuminated snow structures and ice statues (OPTIONAL). Our hotel is located close to the Underground Shopping Arcade and Daimaru Department Store.

FEB. 09 (TUE) SAPPORO / ASAHIKAWA ASAHIKAWA TERMINAL HOTEL

Visit Odori Park again, to get a day view of the main site of the famous “SAPPORO SNOW FESTIVAL”. It is an internationally known event with gigantic snow statues and hundreds of medium-sized and small statues of snow and ice. Then proceed to Asahikawa, the 2nd largest city in Hokkaido via the Do-o Expressway. Visit the “Asahikawa Winter Festival Site”, beside the Ishikari River, also famous for its Gigantic “Guinness Book Class” Snow Statues. Later visit the Otokoyama Sake Brewery (HIC!), which makes the “Best Sake in Hokkaido”, to learn its history and “Taste Fresh Sake”! Our hotel is located next to Asahikawa Station. You will get a chance to enjoy shopping and seeing, many ice carving works of the “Ice Sculpture World Contest” along the shopping mall.

FEB. 10 (WED) ASAHIKAWA / WAKKANAI WAKKANAI GRAND HOTEL (ONSEN) ♨

Proceed to Wakkanai, the northernmost city in Japan and also a port town sandwiched between the Japan Sea and Okhotsk Sea. We will visit Cape Bakkai to see wild seals (if time allows), on the way to Wakkanai. Upon arrival at the hotel in Wakkanai, go Holo-Holo in the Saijo Supermarket {for those who wish to}. Enjoy a delicious “Sukiyaki Dinner” and then relax in the nice “HOT SPRING BATH” before going to sleep.

FEB. 11(THU) WAKKANAI / MONBETSU MONBETSU PRINCE HOTEL (ONSEN) ♨ MONBETSU PRINCE HOTEL (ONSEN) ♨


In the morning, enjoy shopping at “Maruzen Marine Gift”, carrying local and dried seafood. Then visit “South Pole High Land Festival” at Wakkanai Air Port Park to experience Tube Sledding and riding the exciting Snowmobiles {OPTIONAL} (weather permitting). Next to Cape Soya, the northernmost tip of Japan, where you can see Sakhalin Island (Russian held Island) on a clear day. Continue to Monbetsu, with a stop for shopping at the Sarobetsu Scallop Shop on the way. Enjoy a “Kani (Crab) Shabu-Shabu Dinner” and another warm “HOT SPRING BATH”

FEB. 12(FRI) MONBETSU / LAKE SAROMA LAKE SAROMA TSURUGA RESORT (ONSEN) ♨

Visit the Giza Ice Floe Museum to watch a short film about the four seasons of this area including the beautiful winter ice floe scenery,. Here you will also be able to see and touch the real drift ice from the ice floe. Then proceed to Ikutahara Town to see its Cha-Cha World Doll Museum, filled with wooden toys from forty different countries. 100,000 Wooden Toys, including puppets, mechanical toys and nutcracker dolls, are on display here. Later go to Kitami City, the biggest city in the Okhotsk Region. Enjoy shopping at a local supermarket before going to beautiful Lake Saroma. Enjoy a delicious buffet dinner featuring local seafood etc., and relaxing “HOT SPRING BATH” with a chance to try the “OPEN-AIR BATH (ROTENBURO)”!

FEB. 13(SAT) LAKE SAROMA / SHIRETOKO HOTEL SHIRETOKO (ONSEN) ♨

Proceed to visit the famous Abashiri Prison before going to the pier to catch the “Icebreaker Boat” to see the Ice Floes (Ryuhyo) (if the timing is right!) up close. Abashiri faces the Sea of Okhotsk and is a prime site for observing the huge Ice Floes (Weather Permitting). After lunch, proceed to Shiretoko Peninsula, a “World Heritage Site”. View the nice Ice Floe scenery along the way to our hotel in Utoro Hot Spring Town. Visit the popular Oshin-Koshin Waterfall. As you can see the falls, are largely separated into two and dynamically flows into the frozen ocean. Enjoy another “Big Buffet Dinner”, then after dinner, go to see the “AURORA FANTASTIC LASER SHOW” at Utoro Pier by bus (FOR THOSE WHO WISH TO). Another good chance to soak and warm up your body in the “HOT SPRING BATH” and “OPEN-AIR BATH (ROTENBURO)”.

FEB. 14(SUN) SHIRETOKO / LAKE AKAN NEW AKAN HOTEL (ONSEN) ♨

By bus to Unabetsu Ski Grounds for some fun Skiing and Sledding (Ski/Sled Rentals are OPTIONAL). Then proceed to mystical Lake Mashu. The water of this lake is renowned worldwide for its clarity, which is one of the clearest in the world and changes into seven different colors. Then continue on to Lake Kussharo with its Sunayu (Sand Bath), and many Swans. Later, proceed to Lake Akan and our hotel. The “Frozen Lake Festival” will be held in front of the hotel and you can enjoy the “Fireworks” from your room. This is your last chance to enjoy a “Big Buffet Dinner” and Relax and Soak in the “HOT SPRING BATH”.

FEB. 15(MON) LAKE AKAN / KUSHIRO ANA HOTEL KUSHIRO

Proceed to Tsurumidai Plain to see the famous “Tancho Zuru” (Japanese Red-headed Crane). Later head ro Hokkaido’s busiest fishing port, Kushiro, pass the famous Nusamai Bridge. Four bronze images of the maiden of the four seasons which four typical Japanese engravers manufactured are set on the railing. Our hotel is near the big shopping center MOO’s Fisherman’s Wharf. Last chance to purchase your Hokkaido Souvenirs and Pupu’s! Your last dinner in Hokkaido will be an “Excellent Japanese Kaiseki Dinner” in the hotel.

FEB. 16(TUE) KUSHIRO / YOKOHAMA YOKOHAMA BAY SHERATON HOTEL & TOWERS

Proceed to Kushiro Airport to board the morning flight to Haneda Airport, Tokyo. Upon arrival, go directly to your hotel in Yokohama City, the 2nd largest city in Japan. FREE TIME TO FINISH SHOPPING, PACKING OR JUST REST. We will give everyone a carton box to use for packing his or her gifts. (2 Pieces Per Person Baggage Allowance. Any excess will be paid for by the member). Your hotel is located close to Yokohama Station and within easy walking distance of Takashimaya, Okadaya and Sogo Department Stores and the big Yodobashi Camera Electronics Store. There is also a 100 Yen Shop and an Underground Shopping Area.

FEB. 17(WED) YOKOHAMA YOKOHAMA BAY SHERATON HOTEL & TOWERS

FREE DAY TO CONTINUE SHOPPING ETC. Good chance to visit the Yokohama Wholesale District by the city bus to purchase Tsukemono (Pickles), Umeboshi, etc., or visit the famous Yokohama Chinatown District, etc., {OPTIONAL}. {LUNCH and DINNER will be at your own expense}.

FEB. 18(THU) HONOLULU

At checkout time our agents will come to tape & tie-up the boxes and take the baggage’s to be checked-in down. In the afternoon, proceed to Narita Int’l Airport to catch Japan Airlines flight in the evening to Honolulu, arriving the same morning, FEBRUARY 18, 2010 (THURSDAY). After clearing U.S. Custom, proceed home. THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR JOINING OUR 38th ANNUAL “ICE FLOE” SNOW FESTIVAL TOUR #1! Clients remaining back will be assisted in obtaining train, plane and hotel reservations. Members may return to Honolulu individually, but no later than 3 months from day of departure. Weekend returns will cost more per person. Yokohama Travel Inc. will charge you if you need their assistance in returning home individually from Yokohama, around $90.00 per person. TOUR CONDITIONS

AIR TRANSPORTATION: Airfare is based on VALUE FARE.
Minimum stay is 3-Days and maximum stay is 3 Months. $225.00 Cancellation Fee.
INCLUDES: All transportation included in the itinerary, all hotel accommodations, meals and all sightseeing listed, all transfer of passenger and baggage, souvenir picture and tour tax. Roundtrip air transportation by Economy Jet.
DOES NOT INCLUDE: Individual expenses after termination of tour as stated in itinerary. Also, wine, liquor, mineral water, laundry and other items of personal nature, cost of obtaining passport and visa or other necessary documents.

BAGGAGE: Limited to (2) pieces and (1) hand-carry.

RESPONSIBILITY: The tour organizer or any travel agencies involved, act only as agents for the passengers in regards to travel, sightseeing, hotel and meal arrangements, and other tour services. The organizer/agency will accept no responsibility or liability in respect of either person or property for any loss, damage, injury, accident, delay or irregularity, however, occasioned, sustained, or suffered in or during any journey, trip, or tour, or in carrying out of any arrangements booked by or through it.

If the agency becomes aware that a passenger has a special chronic health problem, the agency shall ensure that it is provided with a letter from the passenger’s personal physician stating the nature of such health problem and certifying that the passenger is physically fit to participate in the tour. Also, in our endeavor to ensure congenial membership, we reserve the right to refuse the application of anyone and / or to expel from the tour, members whose conduct is incompatible with the interests of the tour. Further, we reserve the right to refuse the application of any handicapped passenger if it is determined that such passenger would impede the schedule of the tour and greatly inconvenience the majority of tour members. However, if a handicapped passenger accepted for the tour requires any form of special assistance, he/she must be accompanied by a qualified helper who takes total responsibility for the handicapped passenger’s well being.

Baggage’s are at owner’s own risk. The right is reversed to make any necessary changes in tour if deemed advisable. Also, the airlines and other transportation companies concerned are not to be held responsible for any act, omission, or event during the time passengers are not on board their carriers concerned. The airline ticket and passage contract in use by the airlines concerned when issued shall constitute the sole contract between the airlines and purchaser of the tour and/or passenger. TRAVEL ETIQUETTE: No one likes to be known as the last to arrive. When traveling in a group it is very important that everyone be punctual. Please remember, also, NO SMOKING AND TO ROTATE SEATS ON BUSES. Everyone likes to sit by the window and front seats.
FOOD REQUEST: If you cannot eat certain foods, please do not forget to turn-in your request form, 1 week before departure or earlier, so we may try to comply with your request.

The COST OF TOUR includes ground tour an airfare. The ground tour is based on ¥100 yens to a U.S. DOLLAR RATE. In case of any re-valuation, the price shall be adjusted accordingly at time of payment. IF YOUR FLIGHT LEAVES EARLIER THAN THE TOUR GROUP, YOU MUST FIND YOUR OWN WAY TO THE AIRPORT. THE TOUR AIRFARE PORTION WILL BE SUBTRACTED FROM THE TOUR PACKAGE COST. THANK YOU!
