FEB. 5 (TUE) HONOLULU
Leave Honolulu Int’l Airport via Japan Airlines flight. Lunch and a snack will be served aboard the flight. FREE MOVIES and DRINKS.

FEB. 6 (WED) NARITA/CHITOSE ANA CROWNE PLAZA HOTEL CHITOSE
Arrive at Narita Int’l Airport and after government formalities, transfer to your connecting flight to Chitose Int’l Airport in Hokkaido. Upon arrival, go directly to our hotel in Chitose City located close to AEON Supermarket. {About 10 min. from the airport}.

FEB. 7 (THU) LAKE SHIKOTSU / SAPPORO TOKYO DOME HOTEL SAPPORO
In the morning, go to the shoe store to buy your snowshoes before heading to Lake Shikotsu to see its popular “Hyoto Matsuri” Festival with Ice Sculptures made of water from the lake. You will be impressed by the wonderful ice statues colored “Shikotsu Blue”. Next visit the Asahi Beer Brewery (HIC!) to view the process of making beer and “Taste the Freshly Brewed Beer”! Then go to Sapporo, Hokkaido’s largest city and pass by the symbol of Sapporo, the famous “Clock Tower” on the way to the hotel. Our hotel is located in front of the “Odori Park Sapporo Snow Festival Site”. It is an internationally known event with gigantic snow statues and hundreds of medium sized and small statues of snow and ice. After dinner, you can enjoy the night view of the illuminated snow structures and ice statues of the “64th Sapporo Snow Festival”. Enjoy the amazing arts made of Snow and Ice. {OPTIONAL For Those Who Wish To}.

FEB. 8 (FRI) ASAHIKAWA ASAHIKAWA TERMINAL HOTEL
In the morning we will have day view or the “Sapporo Snow Festival” to enjoy one of the most adorable and amazing events in Japan. The stunning ice sculptures and tempting snow statues will definitely leave you in awe. Then proceed to Asahikawa, the 2nd largest city in Hokkaido. Along the way, stop at Sunagawa Highway Oasis, a big shopping area where you can buy the famous “Pumpkin Seed Cookies” and other local specialties. Later visit the “Asahikawa Winter Festival Site” famous for its Gigantic “Guinness Book Class” Snow Statues. Our hotel is located next to Asahikawa Station. After hotel check in, you will get a chance to enjoy shopping and seeing, many ice carving works of the “Ice Sculpture World Contest” along the shopping mall.

FEB. 9 (SAT) MONBETSU MONBETSU PRINCE HOTEL (ONSEN) ♨
Visit the Otokoyama Sake Brewery (HIC!), which makes the “Best Sake in Hokkaido”, to learn its history and “Taste Fresh Sake”!
Next visit Asahikawa Winter Amusement Park to experience riding the exciting Snowmobiles, Snow Rafting, etc. (for those who wish to). Then head to Monbetsu, the town facing the Sea of Okhotsk. Enjoy a “Kani (Crab) Shabu-Shabu Dinner” and warm “HOT SPRING BATH” and “OPEN AIR BATH”. Also after dinner, the hotel staff will perform a “Mochi Pounding” demonstration in the hotel lobby! You can also try mochi pounding if you wish to.

FEB. 10(SUN) LAKE SAROMA LAKE SAROMA TSURUGA RESORT (ONSEN) ♨
In the morning visit the Giza Ice Floe Museum to watch a short film about the four seasons of the Okhotsk Area including the beautiful winter ice floe scenery on a 360º degree full screen. Also see and touch the real drift ice from the Ice Floe in a freezing room and experience a minus 4º Fahrenheit Temperature. Then proceed to Cha-Cha World Doll Museum, filled with wooden toys from forty different countries. 100,000 Wooden Toys, including puppets, mechanical toys and nutcracker dolls, are on display here. Later go to Kitami City, the biggest city in the Okhotsk Region. Enjoy shopping at AEON Supermarket before going to beautiful Lake Saroma. We will stay at a beautiful resort hotel with Onsen Hot Spring located beside the lake. You can see the frozen lake from your room (Depending on the temperature of the year). Enjoy a delicious buffet dinner featuring local seafood etc., and relaxing “HOT SPRING BATH” with a chance to try the “OPEN-AIR BATH (ROTEN BURO)”!

FEB. 11(MON) SHIRETOKO HOTEL SHIRETOKO (ONSEN) ♨
Go to Abashiri to catch the “Icebreaker Boat” to see the Ice Floes (Ryuhyo) up close (if the timing is right!). Abashiri faces the Sea of Okhotsk and is a prime site for observing the huge Ice Floes (Weather Permitting). After lunch, proceed to Shiretoko Peninsula, a “World Heritage Site” where the scenery turns into a winter wonderland of ice and white snow. View the nice Ice Floe scenery along the way to our hotel in Utoro Hot Spring Town. Visit the popular Oshin-Koshin Waterfall, selected as “One of the 100 Most Beautiful Waterfalls in Japan”. You can see the falls are largely separated into two. Enjoy another “Big Buffet Dinner” with crab, etc., then go to see the “AURORA FANTASTIC LASER SHOW” at Utoro Pier by bus (FOR THOSE WHO WISH TO). Another good chance to soak and warm up your body in the “HOT SPRING BATH” and “OPEN-AIR BATH (ROTEN BURO)”.

FEB. 12(TUE) LAKE AKAN TSURUGA RESORT HANA YUKA (ONSEN) ♨
By bus to Unabetsu Ski Grounds for some winter amusement in the snow and have some fun Skiing and Sledding (Ski/Sled Rentals are OPTIONAL). Then proceed to Lake Kussharo with its Sunayu (Sand Bath), and many wild Swans which come in from Russia. Then visit mystical Lake Mashu considered by many to be Japan’s most beautiful lake because of its solemn beauty. In winter trees whitened with snow and ice line the lake shore and stand in stunning contrast to the blue surface of the lake. Later, proceed to Lake Akan and our hotel located at lakeside. Many winter activities including fishing on the frozen lake, ice skating and snowmobile, etc. (Optional). After a “Big Buffet Dinner”, you can enjoy the “Fireworks” from your room. This is your last chance to Relax and Soak in the “HOT SPRING BATH” on this tour.

FEB. 13(WED) KUSHIRO ANA HOTEL KUSHIRO
In the morning, visit the Ainu Village to see their Dance & Singing. Ainu are the Aborigines in Hokkaido. These dance rites have been designated as an “Important National Intangible Cultural Property”. Next proceed to the International Crane Center to see one of Japan’s national symbols, the “Tancho Zuru” (Japanese Red-headed Crane), designated officially as a “Living Japanese Monument” ane its habitat is only around Kushiro. Snowy white with black tipped wings and throat and a bright rd cap, it is the biggest and most magnificent bird in Japan. Later head to Hokkaido’s busiest fishing port, Kushiro, pass the famous Nusamai Bridge. Four bronze images of the maiden of the four seasons which four typical Japanese engravers manufactured are set on the railing. Our hotel is near the big shopping center MOO’s Fisherman’s Wharf. Last chance to purchase your Hokkaido Souvenirs and Pupu’s! Your last dinner in Hokkaido will be a “ Japanese Kaiseki Dinner” in the hotel.

FEB. 14(THU) YOKOHAMA YOKOHAMA BAY SHERATON HOTEL & TOWERS
Proceed to Kushiro Airport to board the morning flight to Haneda Airport, Tokyo. Upon arrival, go directly to your hotel in Yokohama City, the 2nd largest city in Japan. After arrival at the hotel, FREE TIME TO FINISH SHOPPING, PACKING OR JUST REST. Your hotel is located close to Yokohama Station and within easy walking distance of Department Stores and the big Yodobashi Camera Electronics Store. There is also a 100 Yen Shop and an Underground Shopping Area. We will give everyone a carton box to use for packing his or her gifts. (2 Pieces Per Person Baggage Allowance. Any excess will be paid for by the member).

FEB. 15(FRI) YOKOHAMA YOKOHAMA BAY SHERATON HOTEL & TOWERS
FREE DAY TO CONTINUE SHOPPING ETC. Good chance to visit the Yokohama Wholesale Market by the city bus to purchase Tsukemono (Pickles), Umeboshi, etc. Also visit the famous Yokohama Chinatown District, etc., {OPTIONAL For Those Who Wish To}. {LUNCH and DINNER will be At Your Own Expense}.

FEB. 16(SAT) HONOLULU
At checkout time our agents will come to tape & tie-up the boxes and take the baggage’s to be checked-in down. In the afternoon, proceed to Narita Int’l Airport to catch Japan Airlines flight in the evening to Honolulu, arriving the same morning, FEBRUARY 16, 2013 (SATURDAY). After clearing U.S. Custom, proceed home. THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR JOINING OUR 41ST ANNUAL HOKKAIDO WINTER FESTIVALS & “ICE FLOE” TOUR #2! Clients remaining back will be assisted in obtaining train, plane and hotel reservations. Members may return to Honolulu individually, but no later than 3 months from day of departure. RESPONSIBILITY: The tour organizer or any travel agencies involved, act only as agents for the passengers in regards to travel, sightseeing, hotel and meal arrangements, and other tour services. The organizer/agency will accept no responsibility or liability in respect of either person or property for any loss, damage, injury, accident, delay or irregularity, however, occasioned, sustained, or suffered in or during any journey, trip, or tour, or in carrying out of any arrangements booked by or through it.

However, if a handicapped passenger accepted for the tour requires any form of special assistance, he/she must be accompanied by a qualified helper who takes total responsibility for the handicapped passenger’s well being.
