APRIL 14, 2013 (SUNDAY) – APRIL 25, 2013 (THURSDAY) ROSS TERANISHI & JOHN
APR. 14 (SUN) HONOLULU {REVISED 07/24/12} 
Leave Honolulu Int’l Airport via Japan Airlines flight. Lunch and a Snack will be served aboard the flight. FREE MOVIES and DRINKS.

APR. 15 (MON) YOKOHAMA (YOKOHAMA BAY SHERATON HOTEL & TOWERS)
Arrive at Narita Int’l Airport and after clearing government formalities, by bus to our hotel in Yokohama 2nd largest city in Japan. Our hotel is located right in front of the train station and connected to the Underground Shopping Mall, ¥100 Yen Store, Yodobashi Camera (Electronics Store), Super Market, etc. After hotel check in your tour guide will show you around the hotel.

APR. 16 (TUE) HANNO (HOTEL HERITAGE HANNO STA)
Proceed to Mt. Takao, “awarded the maximum of three stars as a sightseeing spot in Japan by the European Guide Book”. Ride Japan’s steepest Cable Car with 889ft deference of elevation and gradient as steep as 31º degrees while viewing Cherry Blossoms blooming along the way (Depending on climate conditions of the year). After arrival at Mt. Takao Station you can observe a superb view of the Kanto Plain and skyscraper of downtown Tokyo (depending on the weather). We will also visit the Monkey Garden where you can see 60 monkeys up close. Then go to the Trick Art Museum to experience and enjoy the excitement of trick arts. You will be surprised by many of the trick arts and even take trick pictures while making yourself as part of the trick art. In the afternoon head to Hanno in Saitama Prefecture. Our hotel is connected to the train station and Shopping Mall. Enjoy shopping after hotel check in.

APR. 17 (WED) MINAKAMI (GENSEN NO YADO MATSUNOI (ONSEN) ♨ )
Proceed to Chichibu while enjoying a drive through a National Park filled with nature. Visit Seiunji Temple to see the Shidare Zakura (Hanging Cherry Blossom Tree). There are 30 Cherry Blossom trees in the temple grounds including the 600 years old Edo Higan Zakura which will overwhelm you! (Blooming level depends on climate conditions of the year). Go to the Chichibu Festival Museum which exhibits actual floats that are used for the famous Chichibu Night Festival. Also experience the climax of the festival through a Hi Vision Movie. Our hotel is a “Traditional Japanese Ryokan Type Hotel” {room has bed} located along the Tone River and surrounded by nature. This hotel has a “Large 8 Acre Japanese Landscape Garden” where you can enjoy a peaceful walk in the morning. The Onsen uses “100% Pure Hot Spring Water”. Soak and Relax in your 1st Onsen Hot Spring Bath in this tour!

APR. 18 (THU) NIIGATA (HOTEL OKURA NIIGATA)
Proceed to Tokamachi, Niigata to visit Kiyotsu Gorge considered as “One of Japan’s Three Great Gorges”. You will be overwhelmed by magnificent rocks and the limpid stream with remaining snow. Walk through a tunnel made particularly for visitors to observe the gorge up close. Then visit the Shirone Kite Museum with its exhibit of a huge kite the size of 24 tatami mats which is actually used in a kite battle held every June together with a collection of 700 kites and also see a dynamic 3-D movie of the kite battle. Then go to our hotel in Niigata. Our hotel is located right in front of the “longest river in Japan”, Shinano River. After hotel check in your guide will take you to Holo-Holo around the hotel.

APR. 19 (FRI) SADO ISLAND (**NO WESTERN ROOMS) HOTEL AZUMA - (ONSEN)♨
Proceed to Niigata Pier to board the Jetfoil to Sado Island. It has a lot of picturesque coastal scenery and also the old customs such as the Okesa Dance. Upon arrival view the fantastic scenery of Senkaku Bay Scenic with its steep cliffs that stretches over 1 mile. Next visit the Sado Gold Mine which opened in 1601 and had been operating for 388 years. Go inside the mine with its displays of robots recreating scenes from the old gold mining days. For those who have been here before, it is suggested that you try the “Doyuko Course” with an actual “Haulage Audit Tunnel” which had been used until 1989. You will also see “Doyu no Wareto” (Split Mountain) at the end of the route. After dinner enjoy seeing the “Sado Okesa Dance Show” (traditional local dance in Sado) at the hotel lobby. This night, you will get a chance to sleep on a traditional Japanese Tatami Floor. “Sorry No Western Rooms” are available at this hotel. Soak and Relax in the Big Bath and Open Air Onsen Bath while enjoying a view of the beautiful seascape from the bath. Also a “Private Onsen Bath” (2 Rooms Only) is available (At Your Own Expense).

APR. 20 (SAT) NIIGATA (HOTEL OKURA NIIGATA)
Continue to visit some scenic places on Sado Island. Visit the Meoto Iwa Rocks (“Meoto” means husband and wife), two rocks lined-up close to each other like a couple. Then visit Mano Park praised as “the Best Sakura Viewing Place in Sado” filled with cherry trees which should be blooming this time of season (if timing is right). Stop at Toki no Mori Park (Crested Ibis Park) to see the symbolic bird of Sado Island. See a real live Toki, an internationally protected species with your own eyes. Later, catch the Jetfoil to go back to Niigata City. After arrival at the hotel, it will be “Free Time” to meet your relatives, enjoy shopping or just rest.

APR. 21 (SUN) AKAKURA (AKAKURA KANKO HOTEL (ONSEN)♨)
In the morning we will “enjoy grilling senbei (rice cracker)” at Senbei Kingdom. You can also buy fresh Senbei at the factory store. Then visit Niigata Furusato Mura to shop for local specialties and to see the “History of Niigata”. Next go to “One of the Best Sakura- Viewing places in Japan”, Takada Park to see Cherry Blossoms in bloom (depending on climate conditions of the year). Enjoy 4,000 Cherry Blossoms in bloom with a Castle and its moat. Later proceed to Myoko Heights. We will stay at a “Classic Mountain Resort Hotel” nestled high on the slopes of majestic Mt. Myoko. Enjoy a Hot Spring Bath and Open Air Bath with beautiful mountain scenery. Also a “Private Onsen” (1 Room Only) is available {“FREE”}.

APR. 22 (MON) KOMAGANE (KOMAGANE RESORT LINX (ONSEN)♨)
Head to Obuse Town called “Little Kyoto in Nagano”. This town is renowned for its charming streets with historic sites. Obuse is also famous for chestnuts. Good chance to buy a variety of products made from locally grown chestnuts. Visit the Katsushika Hokusai Museum. Hokusai is an artist of the Edo Period who was a leading practitioner of “Ukiyoe Wood Block Print” who loved this town.
We will see an exhibition of his masterpieces. Then proceed to Anzu no Sato to see Apricot Blossom in bloom. We will also go to Ina Baien. If timing is right we will see Ume, Narcissus, Forsythia and Sweet Violet blooming at the same time. Our hotel is a nice Mountain Resort Hotel surrounded by forest. Soak and Relax in the Onsen Hot Spring Bath.

APR. 23 (TUE) TOYOHASHI (HOTEL NIKKO TOYOHASHI)
Proceed to Achi Village to see Hanamomo (Hana Peach) Blossom. This is a type of peach tree with 3 different pink colored flowers blooming from 1 tree. If timing is right the whole village will be filled with pink color from 5,000 Hanamomo Trees! Next visit Magomejuku, a well preserved Shukuba Machi (Post Station during the Edo Period). Stroll through the delightful 0.3 miles stone paved street containing a variety of wooden and plaster Edo-style Houses. Then head to Toyohashi and our hotel located next to Ito-Yokado Super Market where you can enjoy shopping before and after dinner.

APR. 24 (WED) TOYOHASHI (HOTEL NIKKO TOYOHASHI)
Go to Gamagori to enjoy “Strawberry Picking”. “Taste the Fresh Japanese Strawberries” in season. Also enjoy shopping at Laguna Gamagori carrying local specialties including Ebi-Senbei (Shrimp Chips) of which Aichi Prefecture has 95% share of its production.
Later go to the AEON Shopping Center for Shopping and Lunch {At Your Own Expense}. Your room is paid for, but meals (LUNCH / DINNER) will be at your own expense to let you eat your favorite foods before returning home. We will give everyone a carton box to use for packing his or her gifts. (2 Pieces Per Person Baggage Allowance. The member will pay for any excess).

APR. 25 (THU) HONOLULU {ONLY BREAKFAST IS INCLUDED THIS DAY}
At check out time, our agents will come to tape & tie-up the boxes and take the baggage’s to be checked-in down. In the afternoon, proceed to Chubu Int’l Airport to catch Japan Airlines flight in the evening to Honolulu, arriving the same morning, APRIL 25, 2013 (THURSDAY). After clearing U.S. Custom, proceed home. THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR JOINING OUR SPRING NIIGATA/ SADO OHANAMI TOUR #6. Clients remaining back will be assisted in obtaining train, plane and hotel reservations. Members may return to Honolulu individually, but no later than 3 months from day of departure. TOUR CONDITIONS

AIR TRANSPORTATION: AIRFARE IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE AND MAY BE CHEAPER AT TIME OF PURCHASE.
Minimum stay is 3-Days and maximum stay is 3 Months. $225.00 Cancellation Fee. 

INCLUDES: All transportation included in the itinerary, all hotel accommodations, meals and all sightseeing listed, all transfer of passenger and baggage, souvenir picture and tour tax. Roundtrip air transportation by Economy Jet.

DOES NOT INCLUDE: Individual expenses after termination of tour as stated in itinerary. Also, wine, liquor, mineral water, laundry and other items of personal nature, cost of obtaining passport and visa or other necessary documents.

BAGGAGE: Limited to (1) pieces and (1) hand-carry.

RESPONSIBILITY: The tour organizer or any travel agencies involved, act only as agents for the passengers in regards to travel, sightseeing, hotel and meal arrangements, and other tour services. The organizer/agency will accept no responsibility or liability in respect of either person or property for any loss, damage, injury, accident, delay or irregularity, however, occasioned, sustained, or suffered in or during any journey, trip, or tour, or in carrying out of any arrangements booked by or through it.

If the agency becomes aware that a passenger has a special chronic health problem, the agency shall ensure that it is provided with a letter from the passenger’s personal physician stating the nature of such health problem and certifying that the passenger is physically fit to participate in the tour. Also, in our endeavor to ensure congenial membership, we reserve the right to refuse the application of anyone and / or to expel from the tour, members whose conduct is incompatible with the interests of the tour. Further, we reserve the right to refuse the application of any handicapped passenger if it is determined that such passenger would impede the schedule of the tour and greatly inconvenience the majority of tour members. However, if a handicapped passenger accepted for the tour requires any form of special assistance, he/she must be accompanied by a qualified helper who takes total responsibility for the handicapped passenger’s well being.

Baggage’s are at owner’s own risk. The right is reserved to make any necessary changes in tour if deemed advisable. Also, the airlines and other transportation companies concerned are not to be held responsible for any act, omission, or event during the time passengers are not on board their carriers concerned. The airline ticket and passage contract in use by the airlines concerned when issued, shall constitute the sole contract between the airlines and purchaser of the tour and/or passenger.
