MARCH 8, 2014 (SATURDAY) – MARCH 19, 2014 (WEDNESDAY) 

MAR. 8 (SAT) HONOLULU
Leave Honolulu Int’l Airport via Japan Airlines flight. Lunch and a Snack will be served aboard the flight. FREE Movies and Drinks.

MAR. 9 (SUN) KOBE KOBE BAY SHERATON HOTEL & TOWERS
Arrive at Kansai Int’l Airport and after clearing government formalities, by bus to the hotel at the center of Rokko Island in Kobe. Our hotel is located close to the Monorail Station and Convenience Store. 

MAR. 10 (MON) LAKE BIWA ROYAL OAK HOTEL
The Sake Tour starts from Nada, Kobe “the Biggest Sake Producing Area in Japan”. Visit the Nada Sake Brewery to “Enjoy the Fine Taste of the Famous Nada Sake” and see a short movie about Sake in English. Then proceed to Kyoto to visit Matsuo Grand Shrine an interesting ancient shrine founded in 701. It enshrines the “Deity of Water” which sake brewers worship. Hence large stacks of sake barrels are displayed on the shrine grounds. Also visit Arashiyama with its landmark “Togetsu Bridge”. It’s beautiful scenery has been celebrated since olden times. Stop at Kitano Tenmangu Shrine filled with 2,000 Ume Trees which should be in season to bloom. Then proceed to Lake Biwa “the Biggest Lake in Japan”. This night’s accommodation is a deluxe resort hotel with beautiful garden. Hotel is located lakeside with a Shopping Center one block away. After hotel check in enjoy shopping, walking in the garden and lakeside or just rest. 

MAR. 11(TUE) LAKE BIWA ROYAL OAK HOTEL 
Go to the “Heartland of Sake Brewing Fushimi in Kyoto” “One of the Greatest Old Sake Brewing Areas in Japan”. We will visit the Gekkeikan Sake Museum displaying in detail the intricate process of making the brew along with the tools actually used and sample different kinds of sake from sweet to dry. This museum is located in a historic tranquil town featuring white-walled sake warehouses dating back to the Meiji Restoration. We will also visit Teradaya Historical Inn, a former riverside accommodation in the Edo Period where Sakamoto Ryoma met his wife Oryo. This is the place where the famous "Teradaya Incident" occurred in which Ryoma was attacked by the Magistrate of the Edo Government. We can enter the room where he often stayed and view the sword cut on a pillar from that confrontation. In the afternoon, go to Sunaino Sato Garden, where Ume Flowers start blooming during this time of season. This huge garden is owned by the famous Japanese Confectionary Shop “Kano Shojyu An”. You can enjoy shopping for Japanese Sweets such as Yokan, Manju, Jelly, etc. 

MAR. 12(WED) TAKAYAMA HOTEL ASSOCIA TAKAYAMA RESORT (ONSEN) ♨
Visit the Kirin Beer Brewery (HIC!) to view the process of making Japanese Beer and “Taste the Refreshing Freshly Brewed Beer”! Then proceed to Aquatotto Gifu Aquarium, the “World’s Largest Fresh Water Aquarium”. It features fishes and creatures inhabiting the Nagara River, “One of the Top Three Clear Flowing Rivers in Japan”. Later go to our hotel located in the beautiful Takayama Highlands. This hotel has a “Big Onsen Hot Spring”. Enjoy Soaking and Relaxing in the Onsen Hot Spring Bath and Open Air Roten Buro Bath which commands a superb unobstructed view of the Northern Japan Alps {Weather Permitting}. At Dinner Time you can bring the Sake that you bought at the brewery. {1 Bottle Per Person}. 

MAR. 13(THU) NAGANO SHINSHU MATSUSHIRO ROYAL HOTEL (ONSEN) ♨ 
Go to Hida Takayama, an old town retaining a traditional touch like Kyoto. Visit the Historical Government House, the only remaining building of its kind in Japan with a history of over 300 years. The Famous Takayama Morning Market is held in front of this building. Lots of stands sell local crafts, souvenirs, farm products, etc. Then visit the Sannomachi Historic District to enjoy strolling and shopping along the beautifully preserved old houses including some traditional Sake Shops. The Hina Doll Festival is held during this time of season. Traditional Hina Dolls including antique dolls from the Meiji Era are displayed at various locations throughout the old town. Later proceed to Okuhida to visit Hirayu Waterfall. Okuhida is still covered by deep snow during this season and the waterfall is still frozen. Enjoy a fantastic snow scenery drive going to Nagano. Dinner this night will be a Japanese Set Menu where you can bring “Your Own Sake” purchased during the tour. {1 Bottle Per Person}. 

MAR. 14(FRI) NAEBA NAEBA PRINCE HOTEL (ONSEN) ♨
Visit the Suzaka Hina Doll Festival where thousands of traditional Hina Dolls are exhibited at the museum. These dolls have been treasured and passed down through the ages in this area. Then go to Unno-Juku Old Post Town, a well preserved Old Post Station established in 1625. Take yourself back to the Edo Period while enjoying a stroll through the old town. We will also visit a small museum in an old building built in 1790. Later proceed to Komoro to visit a Winery. This region is suited to wine growing because of its dry and cold climate which is similar to the wine producing Provinces of Bourgogne and Bordeaux in France. Enjoy tasting Japanese Wine before going to Naeba, a famous Ski Resort Area located in a National Park. Our hotel is a “Huge Ski Resort Hotel” still surrounded by snow where you can enjoy the winter scenery from your room. 

MAR. 15 (SAT) NIIGATA HOTEL OKURA NIIGATA
In the morning we will ride the Gondola Lift and go up to the middle of Mt. Naeba (4,416 ft). Enjoy the dynamic scenery of nature of the deep snow land. (In case of lift cancellation due to weather conditions, we will do another snow activity). Then enjoy “Strawberry Picking” to “Taste Fresh and Sweet Japanese Strawberries” in season. Later head to Tsubamesanjo and enjoy shopping at the Kitchen Ware Store. Tsubamesanjo has been known worldly for its big Cutlery Production since the Edo Period. You can buy kitchen ware here at a wholesale price. Later proceed to Niigata City and our hotel located right in front of Shinano River, the “Longest River in Japan”. After hotel check-in your guide will take you to “Holo-Holo” around the hotel. At Dinner Time, you can bring "Your Own Sake" that you purchased earlier (1 bottle per person). 

MAR. 16 (SUN) NIIGATA HOTEL OKURA NIIGATA
Visit the “Biggest Sake Event in Japan” (attracting 100,000 visitors), “Niigata Sake no Jin”. This is an annual sake-fair attended by 90 Sake Breweries from across Niigata Prefecture including famous "Koshino Kanbai", "Hakkai San", etc. You can “Taste a Large Variety of Niigata Sake”, as much as you like! {Over 500 Different Sake!}. “It must be like heaven to Sake lovers”! For those not going to this event, we will take you to Pia Bandai Fish Market near the festival site. Enjoy shopping for local specialties in Niigata. In the afternoon we will visit Niigata Furusato Mura where you can “learn the history and culture of Niigata with life-size models of old houses, snow machine, etc”. This is a good place to buy local souvenirs of the whole area of Niigata such as Rice Crackers, Handicrafts, Seafood, etc. At Dinner Time you can bring “Your Own Sake” that you purchased at the Sake Event Site to dinner {1 Bottle Per Person}. 

MAR. 17(MON) YOKOHAMA YOKOHAMA BAY SHERATON HOTEL & TOWERS
In the morning, catch the Joetsu Shinkansen (Bullet Train) from Niigata Station to Takasaki Station. Upon arrival, transfer by bus to the AEON Shopping Center for Shopping and Lunch. Later go to Yokohama the 2nd Largest City in Japan. The hotel is located within easy walking distance to Department Stores, a Big Electronics Store, ¥100 Yen Shop and Underground Shopping Mall. After hotel check in your guide will take you to “Holo-Holo” around the hotel. 

MAR. 18(TUE) YOKOHAMA YOKOHAMA BAY SHERATON HOTEL & TOWERS
Enjoy shopping at the Yokohama Central wholesale Market to buy Tsukemono, Umeboshi, etc. at wholesale prices. Later head to Hama Rikyu Garden, a large attractive landscape garden in Central Tokyo. This is a typical "Daimyo (Japanese Feudal Lord) Garden of the Edo Period" with an atmosphere of utter tranquility. The garden is surrounded by high-rise skyscrapers of the adjacent business district. The stark contrast between old and the new is superb. Later visit Ameyoko, a busy market street lined with discount stores carrying various products such as dried food, candies, clothes, etc. Then go back to the hotel. Upon arrival it will be "FREE TIME" TO FINISH SHOPPING, PACKING ETC. Your rooms are paid for, but meals (LUNCH & DINNER) will be at your own expense to let you eat your favorite food before returning home. We will give everyone a carton box for packing his or her gifts. (2 Pieces Per Person Baggage Allowance. Any excess will be paid for by the member). 

MAR. 19 (WED) HONOLULU {ONLY BREAKFAST IS INCLUDED THIS DAY}
At check-out time we will come around to tape and tie-up the boxes and take the baggage’s to be checked-in down. Later proceed to Narita Airport then catch a Japan Airlines flight in the evening to Honolulu, arriving the same morning MARCH 19, 2014 (WEDNESDAY). After clearing U.S. Customs proceed home. RESPONSIBILITY: The tour organizer or any travel agencies involved, act only as agents for the passengers in regards to travel, sightseeing, hotel and meal arrangements, and other tour services. Further, we reserve the right to refuse the application of any handicapped passenger if it is determined that such passenger would impede the schedule of the tour and greatly inconvenience the majority of tour members. However, if a handicapped passenger accepted for the tour requires any form of special assistance, he/she must be accompanied by a qualified helper who takes total responsibility for the handicapped passenger’s well being.

Also, the airlines and other transportation companies concerned are not to be held responsible for any act, omission, or event during the time passengers are not on board their carriers concerned.
