MAY  30 (SAT) HONOLULU {REVISED 08/29/14}        
Leave Honolulu Int’l Airport via Japan Airlines flight.  Lunch and a Snack will be served aboard the flight.  FREE Movies and Drinks.

MAY 31 (SUN) HIMEJI - HOTEL NIKKO HIMEJI
Arrive at Kansai Int’l Airport (Or Itami Airport?) and after clearing government formalities, by bus to the hotel located in front of Himeji Station.  After hotel check-in around 9:00PM, you can have a good night's rest.  {HOTEL SUBJECT TO CHANGE}

JUNE 1(MON) SHODOSHIMA ISLAND - BAY RESORT HOTEL SHODO SHIMA (ONSEN) ♨ 
In the morning, catch a ferry to Shodoshima in the Seto Inland Sea.  This island is a very attractive spot with a Mediterranean Atmosphere and is called "Island of Olives" because it is the "Birth Place of Olive Cultivation in Japan".  Visit Olive Park, home of century old olive tree groves overlooking the many beautiful islands of the Seto Inland Sea.  The island is also well known as the filming location for the popular movie "Twenty-four Eyes".  This is a story about a school teacher and her class of students during the period leading up to WWII.  We will visit Nijushi no Hitomi Movie Village, the preserved movie set used in the filming.  The entire reconstructed village including, a school house, old houses, etc. convey a nostalgic atmosphere of past decades and is pleasant to explore.  Later visit the Tsukudani Factory producing the island's popular local specialty.  Tsukudani, simmered seafood, seaweed, etc. in soy sauce is a traditional Japanese food.  This island's Tsukudani made with local soy sauce has a 400 year history.  Our hotel is located in front of the ocean so you can enjoy the Onsen Hot Spring & Open Air Bath with a beautiful view of the ocean.      

JUNE 2TUE) TAKAMATSU - JR HOTEL CLEMENT TAKAMATSU
Ride the Ropeway and go up to breathtaking Kankakei Gorge, ranked as "One of Japan's Top Three Most Beautiful Gorges".  The gorge is filled with rocks shaped in unusual formations.  From the upper station you can get a nice panoramic view over the gorge of the islands and the Seto Inland Sea.  Later visit the Somen Museum.  Somen (thin wheat noodles) are another famous delicacy in Shodoshima.  Traditional methods of preparation continue unchanged from 400 years ago.  Next catch a ferry to Takamatsu a central city in Shikoku. Upon arrival, head to Ritsurin Park, absolutely "one of the finest landscape gardens in Japan".  This stroll-type landscape garden is exquisitely laid out with mounds, ponds and trees. Water Lilly, Azalea, etc. will be in season to bloom.  Our hotel is located close to the station and shopping area.  After hotel check in, the tour guide will take you to "Holo Holo" around the hotel.          

JUNE 3(WED) IMABARI - IMABARI KOKUSAI HOTEL (ONSEN)♨
Visit Shikoku Village a pleasant hillside park preserving and exhibiting old traditional buildings and structures from the Edo and Meiji Period (1600s to early 1900s) that were relocated here from all over Shikoku Island.  You will slip back in time while strolling along the old farmhouses, storehouses, etc. showing the old way of life in Shikoku.  Later go to Marugame The biggest Uchiwa (rounded paper fan) producing area in Japan with over 400 years history.  You will be able to enjoy designing and making your own Japanese fan.  Traditional handcrafted fans can also be purchased at the shop.  Later enjoy a famous Sanuki Udon Lunch before going to the Besshi Copper Mine which had been in operation for 283 years since 1691 and once was the world's biggest copper producing mine.  Visit its museum praised as "one of the most distinguished mine museums in Japan".  A model of the surface facilities of the mine and a wide range of materials related to the mine, etc.  are exhibited.  We will ride on the miners train and walk inside an actual mine with dolls of miners showing how hard the work used to be.  Then go to our hotel in Imabari, a nice city hotel with Open Air Onsen Hot Spring Bath.  Enjoy a nice Japanese Kaiseki Dinner in the evening.             

JUNE 4(THU) DOGO ONSEN - HOTEL LUNA PARK (ONSEN)  ♨  
Imabari produces "one of the world's highest quality towels" using only the highest quality materials and is highly praised for its comfort, reliability and safety features.  Visit the popular Towel Museum to see the process of making towels and a display of many types of towels with unique designs.  You can also purchase many different types of "High Quality Imabari Towels".  Then go to Shimanami Kaido (highway above the Seto Inland Sea) with its unique island to island bridges and enjoy the luxurious multi-isle beauty of the Inland Sea.  Visit Murakami Suigun (Feudal Navy) Museum which "commemorates a Samurai who sailed the area some 500 years ago".   It displays valuable literature and unearthed articles used by the Suigun Navy to give you a memorable insight of the Navy's history.  Next visit Yoshiumi Rose Garden where you can see various kinds of roses collected from all over the world (if timing is right).   Enjoy a peaceful stroll in the garden.  Then head to Dogo in Matsuyama, the "Oldest Hot Spring in Japan" dating back 3,000 years!  Our hotel is located in the center of the town.  After hotel check in we will take you to the Dogo Hot Spring Main Building a proud symbol of the town which was built in 1894.  This historical edifice is the "First Hot Spring Facility Designated as an Important Cultural Asset".  Enjoy Soaking and Relaxing in the Onsen Hot Spring Bath and Open Air Roten Buro Bath of famous Dogo Onsen Hot Spring.            

JUNE 5(FRI) UWAJIMA - HOTEL CLEMENT UWAJIMA 
Go to see Tobe-yaki Pottery a Traditional Japanese Industrial Art with its beautiful white clay and blue patterns that is a "Nationally Designated Traditional Craft".  Enjoy learning how Tobe-yaki is made and purchasing it.  Then proceed to Uchiko to visit its Old Town with beautiful streets lined with large stylish wealthy merchant houses from the Meiji Period.  Feel a "Vestige of Traditional Rutal Japan" while walking around the historical district.  Later head to Uwajima and visit Nanrakuen Garden a huge strolling style garden where you can enjoy viewing colorful carp and seasonal flowers.  The Iris Festival is held during this season.  If timing is right 25,000 Iris will be in bloom in the park making it a particularly impressive sight.  Our hotel is connected to Uwajima Station and easy walking distance to the Shopping Area.             

JUNE 6(SAT) KOCHI - CROWN PALAIS NEW HANKYU KOCHI
Visit Osakana-kan Aquarium which is home to a large variety of fishes that live in the Shimanto River that is famous as "Japan's Last Pristine River".  Later visit Nishioka Sake Brewery established in 1781.  Sake in Kochi is said to be "Good, Dry and a Treasure of Kochi".  We will visit the place where local sake is made and taste their product which has a refined taste.  Then proceed to our hotel in Kochi.  After hotel check in our guide will take "those who wish to" to the symbol of the city "Kochi Castle" built in the 17th century.  {Within Easy Walking Distance}      

JUNE 7 (SUN) KOCHI - CROWN PALAIS NEW HANKYU KOCHI 
Kochi City is home to "Japan's Oldest Outdoor Marketplace".  In the morning go to the Sunday Market which is the most notable street market that has been held since 1690.  More than 500 stalls selling Kochi's varied local products such as fruits, vegetables, clothes, local crafts, antiques, etc.  Kochi is well known for the TV Drama "Ryoma-den" the story about Sakamoto Ryoma who was a Samurai born in Kochi and has always been "One of Japan's Favorite Historical Figures".  We will visit the Sakamoto Ryoma Museum to learn his history, works and the turbulent times before the Meiji Restoration in 1868.  We will also see his notable statue at Katsura hama Beach.  At lunch time taste "Katsuo (Bonito) Tataki" which is a famous local food in Kochi.  Those who wish to can try "Toasting Their Own Katsuo (Bonito)". 

JUNE 8 (MON) NARUTO TOKUSHIMA - RENAISSANCE RESORT NARUTO (ONSEN) ♨
Go toYasaka Shrine to see the "Oldest Cedar Tree in Japan" which is estimated to be over 3,000 years old aaand designated as a "National Special Natural Monument".  A tombstone with a portrait of Misora Hibari and a monument of her songs including "Kawa-no Nagare-no Youni" are close by.  Then drive along Oboke Great Valleys with magnificent scenery of the rapids rushing through the gorge with sheer rocks.  Then visit Kazura (Vine) Bridge one of 3 oddly shaped bridges in Japan along with Kintaikyo Bridge & Saruhashi Bridge.   This 148 feet long bridge made of vine is suspended 500 feet high above a stream.  Later go to a nice resort hotel located in the Seto Inland Sea National Park in front of the Naruto Strait.  Enjoy Soaking and Relaxing in the Onsen Hot Spring Bath with a beautiful ocean view.  Enjoy a delicious buffet dinner in the evening featuring local seafood, vegetables, etc.       

JUNE 9 (TUE) KOBE - HOTEL CROWN PALAIS KOBE
Head to Awajishima Island the largest island in the Seto Inland Sea with a unique atmosphere different from Japan's mainland.  In the morning enjoy a Uzushio (Whirling Tides) Viewing Cruise.  Enjoy a fantastic experience while viewing the world-level whirlpool right up close on a large yacht type pleasure boat. Later visit the Akashi Kaikyo National Government Park. Poppy, Canna, Salvia, etc. will bloom during this time of season.  It will be great for garden lovers to stroll around this impressive park with magnificent displays of flowers.  Later visit Tako Senbei no Sato, a shop making famous Octopus Chips.  You can taste lots of different flavored chips at the factory store.  Then drive over the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge known as the "World's Longest Suspension Bridge (2.4 Miles Long) to Kobe.  Our hotel is conveniently located close to a popular Shopping and Amusement Area where you can enjoy shopping as well as the beautiful sights and tastes of Kobe.  Guide will take you to "Holo-Holo" at Mosaic Mall after hotel check in.       

JUNE 10 (WED) KOBE - HOTEL CROWN PALAIS KOBE  
Visit Kawasaki Good Time World, a museum about Kawasaki's Heavy Industry Company that produces trains, motorcycles, ships, aerospace equipment, etc.  Learn the "Greatness of Japanese Technology" by experiencing with actual products such as a Shinkansen Bullet Train in which you can sit in the passenger's seat and driver's seat etc.  Then go to Mt. Rokko and visit Hall of Halls Rokko an exhibit of music boxes and automatic musical instruments including "One of the World's Largest Dance Organs".  We will enjoy a fabulous music performance through the use of these instruments.  Later enjoy Lunch and Shopping at the AEON Shopping Center before going back to the hotel.  (LUNCH and DINNER will be At Your Own Expense This Day).  We will give everyone a carton box for packing his or her gifts.  (2 Pieces Per Person Baggage Allowance.  Any excess will be paid for by the member).                                             

JUNE 11 (THU) HONOLULU  {ONLY BREAKFAST IS INCLUDED THIS DAY}

AIR TRANSPORTATION:  AIRFARE IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE AND MAY BE CHEAPER AT TIME OF PURCHASE.
Minimum stay is 3-Days and maximum stay is 3 Months.  $225.00 Cancellation Fee.  
INCLUDES:  All transportation included in the itinerary, all hotel accommodations, meals and all sightseeing listed, all transfer of passenger and baggage, souvenir picture and tour tax.  Roundtrip air transportation by Economy Jet.  
DOES NOT INCLUDE:  Individual expenses after termination of tour as stated in itinerary.  Also, wine, liquor, mineral water, laundry and other items of personal nature, cost of obtaining passport and visa or other necessary documents.
BAGGAGE:  Limited to (1) pieces and (1) hand-carry.
RESPONSIBILITY:  The tour organizer or any travel agencies involved, act only as agents for the passengers in regards to travel, sightseeing, hotel and meal arrangements, and other tour services. The organizer/agency will accept no responsibility or liability in respect of either person or property for any loss, damage, injury, accident, delay or irregularity, however, occasioned, sustained, or suffered in or during any journey, trip, or tour, or in carrying out of any arrangements booked by or through it.  
If the agency becomes aware that a passenger has a special chronic health problem, the agency shall ensure that it is provided with a letter from the passenger’s personal physician stating the nature of such health problem and certifying that the passenger is physically fit to participate in the tour.  Also, in our endeavor to ensure congenial membership, we reserve the right to refuse the application of anyone and / or to expel from the tour, members whose conduct is incompatible with the interests of the tour.  Further, we reserve the right to refuse the application of any handicapped passenger if it is determined that such passenger would impede the schedule of the tour and greatly inconvenience the majority of tour members.  However, if a handicapped passenger accepted for the tour requires any form of special assistance, he/she must be accompanied by a qualified helper who takes total responsibility for the handicapped passenger’s well being.
