NOV. 9(THU) HONOLULU
Leave Honolulu Int’l Airport via Japan Airlines flight. Lunch and a Snack will be served aboard the flight. FREE Movies and Drinks.

NOV. 10 (FRI) HIMEJI HOTEL NIKKO HIMEJI
Arrive at Kansai Int’l Airport and after clearing government formalities, by bus to the hotel located in front of Himeji Station. After hotel check-in around 9:00 PM, you can have a good nights’ rest.

NOV. 11(SAT) HIMEJI HOTEL NIKKO HIMEJI
Visit Musashi-no Sato Village, the birthplace of Miyamoto Musashi, a legendary Samurai believed to be “Japan’s Greatest Swordsman”. It is stated that “Musashi fought over 60 battles and never defeated throughout his life”. See the house Musashi was born in and visit Musashi Museum, exhibiting items related to Musashi including picture and calligraphy actually-drawn by him. Next go to Tatsuno, an old castle town famous throughout Japan for the “Best Grade of Somen Noodles” (a very thin noodle with a light flavor). Later stop at Somen-no Sato to “learn its history and process of production”. You can try “tasting local specialty products and enjoy shopping”. Then go back to Himeji. If you wish to, we will take you to “First World Heritage Site in Japan” Himeji Castle, known as “White Heron Castle” because of its elegant white appearance.

NOV.12 (SUN) FUKUYAMA FUKUYAMA NEW CASTLE HOTEL
Head to Bizen Osafune which is “Synonymous with Master Samurai Sword Making”. Visit the Japanese Sword Museum, where a variety of masterpiece “Samurai Swords” are on display. Bizen Osafune has been “Japan’s Sword Craft Center” for over 1,000 years and known for its high quality throughout Japan in the Samurai Period. Later visit the Bizen-yaki Pottery Factory inheriting a tradition of over 1,000 years. See displays of both old and new examples of Bizen-style Pottery and purchase them at the shop. Then proceed to our hotel located right next to Train Station and easy walking distance to Department store, Fukuyama Castle, etc. After arrival at the hotel, tour guide will take you to “Holo-Holo” around the hotel.

NOV. 13 (MON) FUKUYAMA FUKUYAMA NEW CASTLE HOTEL
Enjoy driving through the Shimanami Kaido (highway above the Seto Inland Sea), with its spectacular island-to-island bridges to enjoy the luxurious multi-isle beauty of the Inland Sea. Head to Kurushima Strait to enjoy a Uzushio (Whirling Tide) Viewing Cruise. This narrow strait surrounded with small islands makes tidal currents strong and complicated. Enjoy a fantastic experience while viewing the world-level whirlpool right up close on a large yacht type pleasure boat. Later visit Oyamazumi Shrine, once one of the most important shrines for the Samurai. Its famous museum holds collections of Samurai weaponry and martial arts which account for 80% of all the Samurai body armor and armory designated as “National Treasures or Important Cultural Properties” including the armor of Minamoto no Yoshitsune, Yoritomo’s sword, statuaries belonging to dozens of Japan’s famous Samurais, etc.

NOV. 14 (TUE) OSHIMA ISLAND HOTEL & RESORT SUN SHINE SAZAN SETO (ONSEN) ♨
In the morning walk to Fukuyama Station to catch Shinkansen Bullet Train to Shin Iwakuni in Yamaguchi Prefecture. Iwakuni is a former castle town where a U.S. Military Base is located. Upon arrival visit Kintai (Brocaded) Bridge, originally constructed in 1673. A beautiful wooden arched bridge called “One of Japan's Three Most Beautiful Bridges”. Near the bridge there is a “Statue of Sasaki Kojiro”, a prominent Samurai regarded as Miyamoto Musashi’s most formidable opponent. His tsubame-gaeshi move was invented after observing swallows flying under the bridge here. Then proceed to Suo-Oshima Island and our nice resort hotel located in front of the ocean. Enjoy the Onsen (Hot Spring) and Open Air Roten-Buro Bath!

NOV. 15 (WED) YUDA ONSEN HOTEL KAMEFUKU (ONSEN) ♨
Visit the Museum of Japanese Emigration to Hawaii which displays the hardships faced by the emigrants in Hawaii, their cultural contributions and to the economy of their hometowns and a history of cultural exchanges, etc. Then go to Yanai renowned as the “Cityscape of the White walls” created from many remnants of merchant stores and old buildings from the Edo Period (1600-1867). Enjoy strolling around the charming and picturesque “White Wall Old Town District” and visit the Kunimori Old Merchant House built in the late 18th Century. It is a good example of a Mid–Edo Period Wealthy Merchant House and has been designated as a “National Important Cultural Asset”. Visit the Kanro Shoyu Factory with over 200-year history. It features a thick intense Shoyu with deep creamy character produced through double fermentation that originated in Yanai. Later proceed to Yuda, a Hot Spring Town called “Kyoto in the West” because of its long history dating back to the 12th Century. Soak in the famous Hot Spring Bath known for “Bijin yu” (Hot Spring for Beauty). In the evening enjoy a Japanese Kaiseki Dinner with local ingredients.

NOV. 16 (THU) KOKURA HOTEL CROWN PALAIS KOKURA
Visit the Garden of Mouri Family who was one of the military rulers in this area. This gorgeous garden is skillfully enhancing by both natural and man-made beauty and thus appointed as a “National Significant Scenery”. Later proceed to Kyushu Island via the Kanmon Straits, a historical site known as the location of ancient battles such as that leading to the fall of the Heike Clan in 1185, etc. Head to the Moji Port Retro Area and the Exotic District, intermixed with “Old Age Western Style Buildings” and “New Attractive Spots”. Visit the Kaikyo Drama Ship Museum which offers a dramatic introduction of the fantastic history of the area including the battle between the Genji Clan and Heike Clan, the battle between Musashi and Kojiro etc. Our hotel is located close to the Department Store. Enjoy shopping after hotel check in.

NOV. 17 (FRI) KOKURA _ HOTEL CROWN PALASIS KOKURA
Take a short boat cruise to land on Ganryujima Island, the site of the “Most Celebrated Duel in the Samurai Period”, the fight between the two arch-rival swordsmen, Miyamoto Musahi and Sasaki Kojiro in 1612. There are statues of Musashi & Kojiro depicting their famous battle on the island. Later go to Karato Fish Market to shop for Dried Seafood, TsukemonoPickles, etc. Good chance to “Eat Fresh Sushi” at the market, which can be purchased by the piece (At Your Own Expense}. Those who wish to can visit Akama Shrine, dedicated to Emperor Antoku who died as a child in the Battle of Dan-no-Ura (need to go up by steps). Stop at Shimonoseki Shuzo Brewery to try tasting and purchase local sake and enjoy shopping. After going back to the hotel tour guide will take you to Tanga Market which has 100 years of history. Enjoy shopping at the 220 densely lined stores and where the markets are always abuzz with energy. Here you will get a true taste of the culture and sample the real-life style of local people.

NOV. 18 (SAT) ASO HOTEL GREENPIA MINAMI ASO (ONSEN) ♨
Go to Yabakei Gorge, situated in the northwestern part of Oita, is a grand gorge created through a lava plateau of the largest scale in Japan by the flow of Yamakuni-gawa River and is known as the best place to see the beautiful autumn leaves in Kyushu. This huge gorge full of unusual shaped stones and rock formations is a spectacular sight selected as “One of the Best Three Rare Scenic Beauty Spots in Japan”. Then proceed to Aso-Kuju National Park to visit 1,279 ft. long Kokonoe Great Suspension Bridge which is the “Highest Pedestrian Bridge in Japan (567ft. high)”. If you have courage and wish to you can try walking on it. You will feel like you are walking in the air over the forest. Our hotel is an award winning mountain resort located at the scenic outer rim of the Mt.Aso Caldera. Soak and Relax in the Onsen Hot Spring Bath with Roten Buro (Open Air Bath). Enjoy magnificent scenery of Mt. Aso while Soaking in the Onsen.

NOV. 19 (SUN) KUMAMOTO HOTEL NIKKO KUMAMOTO
Visit the impressive Takachiho Gorge another “One of Kyushu’s Top Spectacular Sights in Autumn”. The natural environment here is praised as “One of the Most Beautiful in Japan”. If timing is right, you can “see outstanding natural scenery with Autumn colors and remarkably pristine river flows through the sheer basalt rock walls”. Then proceed to Kumamoto, an “old castle town with a rich cultural heritage dating back many centuries” where Miyamoto Mushashi spent his last days. {A strong earthquake occurred in Kumamoto in April 2016. Most areas of the city are already back to normal but some tourist attractions such as Kumamoto Castle remain closed}. Our hotel is located at the center of the city and close to the Department Store and Shopping Mall. After hotel check in, tour guide will take you to enjoy “Holo-Holo” near the hotel.

NOV. 20 (MON) KUMAMOTO HOTEL NIKKO KUMAMOTO
In the morning visit Musashizaka Park where the grave of Miyamoto Musashi is located. Legend states that Musashi was buried in his armor to continually look after his lord. Then visit Sakura-no baba Josaien, an Edo-themed Complex near Kumamoto Castle and enjoy shopping for local products. Later go to the AEON Shopping Center for “LUNCH” and more Shopping. Those who wish to, you can visit Reigando Cave where Musashi wrote ‘Gorin no sho” (The Five Rings). It contains all his knowledge of fighting. He died one week after he finished writing it. (Need to walk on slope and steps 15 minutes one way). {LUNCH and DINNER will be “At Your Own Expense” This Day}. We will give everyone a carton box for packing his or her gifts. (2 Pieces Per Person Baggage Allowance. Any excess will be paid for by the member).

NOV. 21 (TUE) HONOLULU {ONLY BREAKFAST IS INCLUDED THIS DAY}
At check-out time, we will come around to tape and tie-up the boxes and take the baggage’s to be checked-in down. Later proceed to Fukuoka Airport to catch a domestic flight to Kansai (Osaka) Narita or Haneda Airport. Then catch a Japan Airlines Int’l flight in the evening to Honolulu, arriving the same morning NOV. 21 (TUESDAY). After clearing U.S. Customs proceed home. Also, in our endeavor to ensure congenial membership, we reserve the right to refuse the application of anyone and / or to expel from the tour, members whose conduct is incompatible with the interests of the tour. Further, we reserve the right to refuse the application of any handicapped passenger if it is determined that such passenger would impede the schedule of the tour and greatly inconvenience the majority of tour members. However, if a handicapped passenger accepted for the tour requires any form of special assistance, he/she must be accompanied by a qualified helper who takes total responsibility for the handicapped passenger’s well being.

Baggage’s are at owner’s own risk. The right is reserved to make any necessary changes in tour if deemed advisable.
