SEP. 6(FRI) FUKUOKA HILTON FUKUOKA SEA HAWK
Arrive at Narita Int'l Airport and after clearing government formalities, transfer to a domestic flight to Fukuoka, the biggest city in Kyushu, Japan’s third largest island. We will stay at a stunning oceanfront resort hotel located in front of Hakata Bay and adjacent to a baseball stadium and its huge shopping mall good for shopping and strolling.

SEP. 7 (SAT) FUKUOKA HILTON FUKUOKA SEA HAWK
In the morning, have fun with a Hakata Doll Painting Experience. Fukuoka’s most famous traditional art and craft is the “Hakata Ningyo (doll)”, handed down for over 400 years by local craftsmen. Paint your own Hakata Doll for a souvenir. Then go to the Kurume Kasuri Museum. Kurume Kasuri is a considered “One of the Most Famous Woven Fabrics” for work clothes and designated as a “National Traditional Craftwork”. See an exhibition of delicate splashed pattern fabric that has been created for over 230 years and enjoy shopping for their products. Then visit Yame Traditional Craftwork Center, displaying the traditional handicrafts in the area. See craftsman making traditional craftworks such as Washi Japanese Paper, Bamboo Craft, etc. You can purchase a fine selection of crafts that are quite original and make excellent presents. After going back to the hotel your tour guide will take you to MARK IS Shopping Mall which opened in November 2018 with 163 shops including a Supermarket, ¥100 Yen Shop, UNIQLO, etc.

SEP. 8 (SUN) YAMAGUCHI, HOTEL KAMEFUKU (ONSEN)♨
Go to Ashiyagama-no Sato to experience a Traditional Japanese Tea Ceremony. We will be served Matcha Green Tea and Wagashi (Traditional Japanese Confectionary). Enjoy its taste while viewing a “Beautiful Japanese Garden”. Then cross the Kanmon Straits, a well-known beauty site which separates the Honshu (Main Island of Japan) and Kyushu Island. Visit the famous Karato Fish Market for some fun shopping for Dried Sea Foods, Seaweed, etc., with a lively atmosphere. It will be precious chance to “Eat Fresh Sushi” at the famous fish market (You can purchase it by 1 piece at a time at your own expense). Later enjoy “Grape Picking” and taste the sweet Japanese Grapes at their best during this season. Then to Yuda in Yamaguchi Prefecture. A hot spring town called “Kyoto in the West” because of its long history dating back to the 14th century. Soak in the Onsen Hot Spring Bath known as “Bijinno yu” (Hot Spring for beauty).

SEP. 9 (MON) YAMAGUCHI HOTEL KAMEFUKU (ONSEN)♨
Head to Hagi, a former castle town since 1604. It has recently become a sensational place for the staging of NHK's Historical Drama “Hanamoyu”. Hagi has produced many capable men who have played leading roles in the construction of modern Japan. Visit Shoka Sonjyuku Academy, registered as a “World Heritage Site” and one of the sights of Japan’s Meiji Industrial Revolution. Shoin Yoshida directed many revolutionaries who played important roles in the Meiji Restoration. Hagi is best known for Hagi-yaki Pottery. It has been ranked among Japan's finest and highly prized as the most beautiful tea wares for nearly 400 years. It is said the more it is used, the glaze becomes more transitory. We will get a chance to buy famous Hagi-yaki Pottery. Then go to Motonosumi Inari Shrine, picked as “One of the 31 Most Beautiful Places in Japan" by CNN. The shrine's remarkable location makes for a striking contrast between the red 123 shrine gates and the blue ocean below. This shrine is also known as “Japan's most challenging offertory box to throw money into”. The Box is located on top of the shrine gate (16 ft high). You can try your luck!

SEP. 10 (TUE) HIROSHIMA, RIHGA ROYAL HOTEL HIROSHIMA
Visit Ruriko-ji Temple with its “National Treasure Five-storied Pagoda”. This stately pagoda is considered "One of Japan’s Three Most Outstanding Pagodas". This amazing place is good to reflect and appreciate the mastery of the Japanese aesthetics. Then go to Tsuwano, called "Little Kyoto" where you can see the original scenery of Japan. Visit the former Samurai District, nicely preserved with earthen walls, historic buildings and a water canal filled with carps. Also visit the quite unique Tsuwano Catholic Church featuring tatami mats instead of chairs. Try your hand at making traditional “Washi Paper” (Japanese hand-made paper). Tsuwano was once very prosperous from making with its “Sekishu Washi” during Edo Period. It was designated as Unesco's Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2014. Then proceed to Hiroshima which has many fascinating traditional arts and crafts. Our hotel is located in the center of down town Hiroshima and next to Sogo Department Store. After hotel check-in, enjoy shopping, meeting your relatives or just rest.

SEP. 11 (WED) HIROSHIMA, RIHGA ROYAL HOTEL HIROSHIMA

Go to Kumano, the "Capital of Brushes". Its famous Kumano Brush is a traditional handicraft with a 180-year history and producing 80% of all domestic production. Visit the Fude-no Sato Brush Museum to see the exhibition and demonstration of world-renowned Kumano Brush which is a favorite of Hollywood Stars! This high-quality handmade makeup brush makes a significant difference. You would not get that softness otherwise. Later go back to Hiroshima to enjoy a Okonomiyaki-making Experience. Okonomiyaki is a savory pancake packed full of vegetables and the specialty food of Hiroshima. You will learn about making Okonomiyaki and taste it for your lunch. For those who wish to we will take you to Hondori Shopping Arcade, the main shopping street in bustling downtown Hiroshima. Stroll along the street lined with shops and restaurants including local product shops, ¥100 Yen Shop, etc.

SEP. 12 (THU) NIIHAMA, RIHGA ROYAL HOTEL NIIHAMA
Enjoy a peaceful cruise through the Seto Inland Sea, “One of the Most Fascinating Oceans of Japan” with over 700 islands and islets floating in its tranquil water. Upon arrival at Matsuyama in Shikoku Island, visit Iyo Kasuri Folk Craft Hall. Iyo Kasuri is a famous traditional craft in Ehime Prefecture and considered to be "One of the Three Prominent Splashed Pattern Textiles in Japan". It has long been treasured for its simple texture, robust cotton, beautiful indigo color and carefully produced design. Then proceed to Imabari, known for production of world’s highest quality towels using only the highest quality raw materials. It is highly praised as the “Comfort, Reliability and Safety Towel”. We will visit the Imabari Towel Flagship Store. See the knitting machines used to make the towels and demonstration of how it works up close. You can find the best products suited for your needs from over 100 deferent types of “high quality Imabari Towel”. Our hotel is located close to a big Aeon Shopping Mall where you can enjoy shopping after hotel check in.

SEP. 13 (FRI) NIIHAMA, RIHGA ROYAL HOTEL NIIHAMA
Proceed to Marugame, the biggest Uchiwa (rounded paper fan) producing area in Japan. It is designated as a National Traditional Craft with over 400-year history. You can try your hand at “Making Your Own Japanese Fan” with your own design. Choose your favorite paper and make your own "One of a Kind Uchiwa Fan". You can also buy a traditional handcrafted fan that are highly praised as light, fit the hand well and comfortable to use. Kagawa Prefecture is officially called the Udon Prefecture”. Lunch will be the famous Sanuki Udon, praised as “One of the Three Best Udon Noodles” in Japan. Later visit Mannou Park the “Biggest Government-Owned Park in Shikoku”. Enjoy strolling the vast refreshing park with a wide range of seasonal flowers. Cosmos bloom during this season.

SEP. 14 (SAT) FUKUYAMA, FUKUYAMA NEW CASTLE HOTEL
Visit Sakurai Lacquerware Hall. Imabari is home to some of Japan’s top lacquerware. You can see various beautiful lacquerware pieces on display and for sale. These items have received numerous awards for traditional arts and crafts. Later enjoy driving on Shimanami Kaido (Island-Wave-Sea Route). A spectacular 37-mile road and bridge network connecting Hiroshima and Ehime Prefectures. It offers sublime views of the Seto Inland Sea National Park. Visit Tomonoura, the picturesque port town with more than 1000 years of history. In recent years, it has been picked as a filming location for several movies, such as "The Wolverine" starring Hugh Jackman, etc. Because the town features endearing old-fashioned fishing townscape creating a calm and laid-back atmosphere. See a symbolic structure of Tomonoura, Joyato Lighthouse built in 1859. Also visit a museum exhibiting Irohamaru, a trading ship that sank in 1867, prominent because the important historical figure Sakamoto Ryoma was on board. Hotel is located close to Fukuyama Train Station and easy walking distance to Fukuyama Castle, etc.

SEP. 15 (SUN) KOBE, HOTEL CROWN PALAIS KOBE
In the morning walk to Fukuyama Station to catch a Shinkansen Bullet Train. Upon arrival at Himeji Station, transfer to bus to Miki, a major production area of blades since ancient times. You will get a chance to buy Miki’s durable and incredibly sharp knives, scissors, nail clippers, etc., at Miki Cutlery Center. Then go to Kobe to visit Minatogawa Market the largest market in Kobe often called “Kobe’s Kitchen”. About 500 shops carrying all sorts of items such as food, clothing and housing items etc., and restaurants, local snack vendor and so on. The arcade is always crowded with local people and filled with the feeling of a “Nostalgic Japanese Market”. Our hotel is conveniently located close to Kobe’s popular shopping and amusement area where you can enjoy shopping as well as the beautiful sights and tastes of Kobe. Tour guide will take you to Holo Holo to Shopping mall after hotel check in.

SEP. 16 (MON) KOBE, HOTEL CROWN PALAIS KOBE
Head to Osaka to visit the Art & Hand Made Bazaar. It is the biggest Hand Craft event in West Japan. Over 1,000 artists and authors gather to sell their original handmade crafts, art, food, etc. This event is held 3 times a year. It should be held on this day in September 2019. Enjoy Shopping and Lunch at the AEON SHOPPING MALL before going back to our hotel. (LUNCH and DINNER will be at your OWN EXPENSE).

SEP. 17 (TUE) HONOLULU {ONLY BREAKFAST IS INCLUDED THIS DAY}
At check-out time we will come around to tape and tie-up the boxes and take the baggage’s to be checked-in down. Then go to Kansai Int'l Airport to catch a flight in the night to Honolulu. Arrive in Honolulu the same morning, SEPTEMBER 17 (TUE). After clearing U.S. Customs, proceed home. LUNCH & DINNER WILL BE AT YOUR OWN EXPENSE. Clients remaining back will be assisted in obtaining plane, train and hotel reservations. Members may return to Honolulu individually, but no later than 3 months from day of departure.
