TOUR ITINERARY


6 OCT (WED) HONOLULU,

Leave Daniel K. Inouye Int’l Airport. A meal and snack will be served aboard the flight. FREE Movies and Drinks.


7 OCT (THU) KOBE,

KOBE BAY SHERATON HOTEL & TOWERS (ONSEN) ♨

Arrive at Kansai International Airport and after clearing government formalities, By bus to Rokko Island, Kobe. We will stay at a luxurious hotel with an Onsen Hot spring bath. Hotel is located close to the monorail station and convenience store.


8 OCT (FRI) MT. WASHU, OKAYAMA,

SETOUCHI KOJIMA HOTEL

In the morning, we will visit Awaji Hana Sajiki in Awaji Island after cross Akashi Kaikyo Bridge for a panoramic view of the flower garden overlooking Akashi Strait. The season will be perfect for the Salvia to be in full bloom. Enjoy a magnificent view of Salvia reminiscent of a large red carpet with the blue ocean as a backdrop. We will enjoy watching a Joruri Puppet Show accompany of Shamisen musician (Japanese traditional string instrument). This traditional Japanese art dates back about 500 years. Later cross the 7.6-mile Great Seto Bridge, a series of suspension bridges joining Honshu (Japan’s Main island) and Shikoku island, viewing the magnificent scenery of Seto Inland sea. Then visit Shimotsui Kaisen Donya, a restored former merchant house in Shimotsui port where the trading vessel “Kitamaebune” used to call its home port until Meiji period. Inside the house there are exhibits of the prosperous lifestyles of the merchants and several goods that were frequently used during this time. Tonight’s hotel has a gorgeous view overlooking Seto Inland Sea and the massive Great Seto Bridge.


9 OCT (SAT) HIROSHIMMA,

RIHGA ROYAL HOTEL HIROSHIMA

Visit Kurashiki a well-known old merchant town. Bikan Historical district is a historical retro-modern cityscape of old warehouse buildings and many white walled houses along a scenic canal. Its traditional atmosphere is often called the “Venice in Japan”. Then head to Hiroshima. We will visit Sera Highland Farm where seasonal flowers are in bloom all year around. We will enjoy over 7,500 Dahlia flowers that can be seen during this time of year. Head to our hotel that is connected to a Department store after we are enjoying Pear Picking. Your tour guides will take you “Holo-Holo” after hotel check in.


10 OCT (SUN) HIROSHIMA,

RIHGA ROYAL HOTEL HIROSHIMA

Today we will visit the famous Kintai Bridge that was originally built in 1673 in the city of Iwakuni in Yamaguchi prefecture. This bridge is 1 out of the 3 most gorgeous bridges in Japan. You will marvel at the world’s largest wooden bridge while walking a crossing this iconic bridge. Next, we will go to Miyajima a sacred island to see Itsukushima Shrine. This shrine has a history of over 1400 years also known worldwide as the “floating shrine” this Torii gate is unique as it was built over water and at high tide it would appear as it was floating on the sea. And enjoy strolling along the Omotesando Shopping Street. Then head back to Hiroshima to visit the thoughtful Peace Park and see the Atomic bomb Dome. This is the only Atomic bombed building that remained standing and has become the city’s symbol of hope and peace. We will also visit Peace Memorial Hall for Atomic Bomb Victims displaying the atomic bomb memories, stories from survivors and to mourn the victims.


11 OCT (MON) KYOTO,

MIYAKO HOTEL KYOTO HACHIJO

This morning we will ride the bus to Hiroshima station to catch the Shinkansen bullet train traveling at speeds up to 198 mph offering you an exceptional mode of travel. Upon arrival at Himeji station, we will transfer to the bus to AEON Shopping Mall to enjoy shopping and lunch. Then we are off to Suntory Yamazaki Distillery (subject to change) producing the flagship line of Yamazaki single malt whisky which have won many international awards and praised as the World’s Best Whisky. You can try tasting whiskies that are unique to the distillery, including rare limited-edition whiskies (Tasting Prices from around 300 yen.) Then we will head to Kyoto, the ancient capital of Japan. Our hotel faces Kyoto Station and next to AEON shopping mall that includes UNIQLO, 100 YEN shop, etc. After hotel check in, tour guides will take you “Holo-Holo” around the hotel.


12 OCT (TUE) KYOTO,

MIYAKO HOTEL KYOTO HACHIJO

All day Kyoto city tour! Visit the Ryoanji Zen Temple that is well known for its Karesansui style (dry landscape) rock garden that represents the water surface and motion of waves through the sand patterns. Kyoto Botanical Garden is the oldest public garden and has long been loved by both locals and visitors to the city. We will enjoy the distinctive Cosmos flowers of Autumn. Their collection of Bonsai is amazing as well. Later visit World Heritage site, Kiyomizu Temple, founded in 780 with its wooden stage that extends out from its main hall 40 feet above the hillside below which is well known for Japanese saying, “Jump from the balcony of Kiyomizu” which means “daring to do a hazardous action.” (please do not actually jump!)


13 OCT (WED) KATSUYAMA, FUKUI,

KATSUYAMA NEW HOTEL

Drive across Japan’s biggest lake by bridge crossing over Lake Biwa in Shiga before visiting Aito Marguerite Station to see over 700,000 Cosmos blooming while feeling chilly refreshing Autumn breeze. You can try Gelato ice cream using fresh local milk from about 20 different flavors (own expense). Enjoy Omi Beef, the oldest brand in Japan for lunch before heading to Fukui. We will visit Takefu Knife Village to learn about history and production of Echizen Cutlery that has 700 years history. In their store you can enjoy shopping for their high-quality knives. Tonight’s hotel has a public indoor bath (Sorry! It is not a Onsen Hot spring bath).


14 OCT (THU) TOYAMA,

TOYAMA EXCEL HOTEL TOKYU

Visit Yume Ole Katsuyama Textile Factory Memorial Hall used to operate as textile production facility from 1905 to 1998. Learn about their silk production with demonstration of original machinery that will make you feel as if you have gone back in time when raw silk was Japanese main export item. Enjoy shopping for Kutani Pottery that has history that dates to the 17th century. Their selection ranges from daily used product to ones produced by living national treasure. Then head to Kanazawa, a well-preserved historic castle town a lot of tradition appeal. Visit Omicho Market, Kanazawa’s largest fresh food market since the Edo Period. Nicknamed “Kanazawa’s kitchen” with over 200 shops. Later visit Kanazawa’s main attraction “Kenrokuen Garden,” 1 of 3 Japan’s most beautiful landscape gardens and designated as National Cultural Property of Special Scenic Spot. Enjoy strolling around the beautiful Japanese garden that incorporates a fancy design with a variety of trees, ponds, and waterfalls that attains unsurpassed scenery. Then proceed to our hotel in Toyama City located near Toyama Train Station that connects to a department store with a ¥100 Yen Shop. Enjoy “Holo-Holo” and shopping after hotel check-in.


15 OCT (FRI) AZUMINO,

HOTEL AMBIENT AZUMINO (ONSEN) ♨

Enjoy a Whole Day Sightseeing Trip to the “Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route.” This is a fascinating journey through glorious alpine scenery with a fantastic view of 9,045 feet high mountains filled with Autumn color leaves by the convenience of a Cable car, Bus, Ropeway, and Trolley bus. First, catch Cable car to Bijodaira station, then transfer to Bus to get Murodo station, the highest at 8,038 feet altitude station in Japan. After lunch, catch Trolley bus to get Daikanbo to enjoy seeing the magnificent scenery of Japan Alps. Then by Ropeway and Cable car to Kuroyon Dam. Traversing Japan’s tallest dam on foot is a definite highlight because of its scale and elevation. After getting Ogisawa station transfer back to our bus to proceed to our Onsen resort hotel. Enjoy soaking in Onsen Hot spring bath and Open air Jacuzzi.


16 OCT (SAT) LAKE KAWAGUCHI,

HOTEL REGINA KAWAGUCHIKO (ONSEN) ♨

In the morning, enjoy driving through a rural scenery at the foot of the Japan Alps mountains ranges to visit Daio Wasabi Farm (the largest in Japan) that has been loved because of its picturesque beauty and you can enjoy peaceful strolling and shopping for Wasabi products. Then go to Matsumoto, a tranquil old castle town nestled by sublime Japan Alps. Visit its main attraction, Matsumoto Castle, designated as National Treasure. The oldest castle donjon (keep) remaining in Japan has been praised as the one of the most complete and most beautiful among Japan’s original castles. Enjoy Apple picking. Taste Juicy and sweet Nagano Apple in season as well. Nagano Apple is noted for its sweetness and great color. Then proceed to our hotel facing to Mt. Fuji. Enjoy soaking in Hot Spring Bath.


17 OCT (SUN) IKEBUKURO, TOKYO,

HOTEL METROPOLITAN

This morning we will drive on the Fuji Subaru Line to the 5th Station (7,562 feet in height) of Mt. Fuji which overlooks the Japan Alps, Fuji 5 lakes, etc. While driving you will be able to see the beautiful Autumn color. We will then head down to Lake Kawaguchi. On clear day, we will see the symbol of Japan “Mt. Fuji” from a close distance (Weather permitting). In Oishi Park, the north shore of the lake where Mt. Fuji can be seen, a plant called “Kochia” will be changing its color to a blazing red color in this season. Then go to Oshino Shinobi-no Sato to enjoy exciting Ninja show! Later head to Ikebukuro, Tokyo, one of Tokyo’s multiple city centers. Hotel is located within easy walking distance to Shopping district. After hotel check in, tour guides will take you “Holo-Holo” to department store, etc.


18 OCT (MON) IKEBUKURO, TOKYO / HONOLULU,

At checkout time our agent will come to tape and tie-up the boxes and take the baggage to be checked-in down. In the afternoon proceed to Narita International Airport to catch Airline Flight # in the evening to Honolulu. Arrive in Honolulu the same morning, 18 OCT (MON) After clearing U.S. Customs, proceed home. (Lunch & dinner will be at your own expense.)


Clients remaining back will be assisted in obtaining plane, train, and hotel reservations. Members may return to Honolulu individually, but no later than 90 days from day of departure. Weekend returns will cost more per person. Please call our office if you are extending your stay. MAHALO!
