Arrive at Kansai International Airport and after clearing government formalities, by bus to Kobe, one of the most pleasant cities in west Japan. We will stay at a luxury hotel with an Onsen Hot Spring Bath and located close to the monorail station and convenience store.
26 MAR (SAT) TSUYAMA,
THE SHIROYAMA TERRACE TSUYAMA VILLA (ONSEN) ♨
In the morning, we will ride the Shinkansen Bullet Train from Shin Kobe Station to Okayama Station. Experience reaching speeds up to 186 mph! We will transfer by bus to Okayama nicknamed the “Fruit Kingdom.” We will enjoy Strawberry Picking and eat as many fresh and sweet Japanese Strawberry as you like. Then head to Fukiya Furusato Village called “Hidden Miracle village” with a unique and distinctive townscape as the entire village is unified with a brownish red (Iron oxide) color material called “Bengala.” The row of red colored traditional local houses is beautifully preserved since the Edo period (17th century). Then go to old castle town of Tsuyama. Tonight's hotel is a high class Onsen resort that just opened in 2019. After enjoying a Japanese Kaiseki dinner in the evening, those who wish tour guides will take you to Tsuyama castle ruin next to our hotel where Cherry Blossom Night Illumination taking place. Enjoy a relaxing soak at the Onsen Hot spring Bath and Open-air Bath where you can see the castle while soaking.
27 MAR (SUN) MATSUE,
MATSUE EXCEL HOTEL TOKYU
Go to Historical Preservation District of Katsuyama. Enjoy strolling along the authentic old Japanese street with a traditional, white-walled storehouses called “Kura” and merchant houses adorned with colorful and distinctive designs of “Noren” Curtains which are also popular souvenir. Good chance to try and purchase Sake at local brewery as well. Later entering San’in region and visit Yasugi-bushi Entertainment Hall to enjoy live performance of Yasugi-bushi which is one of Japan’s most famous 300 years old traditional local folk songs associated with Dojo Sukui (loach-scooping) dance, famous for its comical facial expressions and humorous movements. Then head to Matsue, called “Water city” as it stands by the Sea of Japan where 2 blackish lakes Shinji-ko and Nakaumi meet. We will stay 2 nights at this hotel is located across Matsue Train Station and department store. Enjoy shopping after hotel check in.
28 MAR (MON) MATSUE / IZUMO,

Visit symbol of Matsue, "Matsue Castle" chosen as one of the 100 Best Cherry Blossom Spots and one of only five castles designated as a National Treasure. You can go inside the 410 years old original castle tower for a panoramic view of the surrounding cityscape and Lake Shinji. Later visit Izumo Taisha Grand Shrine, Japan’s oldest shrine dated back to 1,500 years ago. This region was believed the annual gathering place of Shinto’s 8 million Gods. You will feel the spiritual, sacred, and serene ambiance in the “Land of the Gods.” Then proceed to Matsue Vogel Park, with stunning exhibits of amazing flowers and lovely birds in a gorgeous natural setting. Also, you can enjoy feeding the birds and watching the Owl Show. In the evening enjoy Lake Shinji Sunset Dinner Cruise. Lake Shinji is particularly famous for its breathtaking sunsets. Take a leisurely Sunset Dinner Cruise taking in a spectacular orange sunset over the lake with a traditional castle town scenery.

In the morning, visit Sakaiminato Fish Center to enjoy shopping for dried seafood, processed seafood, etc., from the Japan Sea. You can try at your own expense boiled Snow Crab freshly landed at Skaiminato Port. Then go to Encho-en Garden with beautiful Chinese architecture to look around and watch a Chinese Acrobatic show. Enjoy an amazing and unbelievable show performed by talented artists who perform stunts. Then head to Tottori Dune “1 of Japan’s 36 most beautiful places” selected by CNN. The largest dune in Japan stretching 10 miles long and 1.5 miles width facing the Japan Sea. Enjoy breathtaking, beautiful natural land formation, created by sand and winds over the last 100,000 years. Our hotel is located right in front of Tottori Station and next to Daimaru department store. Tour guides will take you “Holo-Holo” after hotel check-in.

Go to San’in Kaigan UNESCO Global Geopark to visit Genbudo Cave Museum. See exhibition of various minerals including jewels, basalts and fossil remains collected from around the world. If you wish to you can walk up steps to see Genbudo Cave (Lava flow rock formation). The marvelous landscape formed by the eruption of 1.6 million years ago. Then stop at Konotori (Oriental Stork) no Sato Park to see a special protected bird on the sanctuary grounds. Wild Konotori in Japan was extinct in 1971 and 12 storks were obtained from Russia are successfully being reintroduced into the wild and became the symbol of the area. Later we will visit one of Japan’s three best scenic views, “Amano Hashidate”, a 2-mile-long sandbar lined with a thick grove of pine trees and has been called a “Place of Incomparable Beauty” since ancient times. We will catch a cable car to the observatory in Kasamatsu Park. Here at the platform, you can bend down and view Amano Hashidate from between your legs. It is very unique way of viewing called the "Matanozoki." They said the view should resemble a “Bridge to the Heaven”. Then go to luxurious resort hotel overlooking Amano Hashidate. Enjoy a relaxing soak at the Open Air Onsen Hot Spring Rock Bath.

Head to Sasayama, an old castle town full of historical and cultural attractions in the last 400 years ago. Visit Sasayama Castle Oshoin the Great Reception Room, which is completely restored large scaled building where important political meeting used to be held during the Edo period. 1,000 cherry blossoms should be in bloom around castle premises. Later stop at Tamba Traditional Art Craft Park, the original place of Tamba Pottery which produced pottery for 800 years. You can see countless displays from famous "Old Tamba" antiques to modern works and purchase from 50 pottery producers. Later head to Nara, the first permanent capital of Japan founded in 710. Visit World Heritage Todaiji temple, originally constructed in 752. Its Daibutsuden (Big Buddha Hall) is the world's largest wooden building holds the world’s largest bronze statue "Big Buddha” standing at 50 feet high. You can feed cracker to Deer roaming through the premises at your own expense if you wish to. We will stay 2 nights at this hotel located close to the Nara train station. After hotel arrival, tour guides will take you “Holo-Holo” around the station area.

All day Kyoto City Cherry Blossom Viewing Tour! Explore the cultural heart of Japan that carries the reputation as the “Most Beautiful City in Japan” We Will visit Arashiyama, one of Kyoto’s most important sightseeing districts since ancient times with pleasant scenery combined with Cherry blossom and its landmark Togetsu Bridge. Enjoying a relaxing ride on the Sagano Scenic Railway known for its charming and old fashioned “Torokko Train.” This open window train gives you nice breeze while viewing a beautiful flowing river with forested ravine and Cherry blossoms during the ride. Then visit one of the most familiar symbols of Kyoto, Kinkakuji Temple, known as the famed “Golden Pavilion” positioned scenically over the reflecting pond. And visit Nishijin Textile Museum. A great place to take in the beauty of the Nishijin textiles with a long history dating back to 5th century is introduced. Good chance to purchase your favorite design of bag, wallet, fan, etc. In the evening, go to AEON Shopping Center for dinner and shopping.

Head to Iga, the home of the Ninja to visit the Ninja Museum of Igaryu. Here you can learn all about the Ninja and secret of their house having escape routes, fake hallways, hidden doors, and other traps. Also enjoy watching a Ninja Show performed by a group called “Ashura” that performs all over the world. Witness their extraordinary skills and the usage of authentic Ninja tools and weapons such as Japanese sword, Shurikens (star shaped throwing blade), and Sickles. Then entering Tokaido side of Japan's main island. Visit Toyota Kuragaike Commemorative Hall, exhibits Toyota materials and vehicles. You can learn about the origins of Toyota and view the former residence of founder Kiichiro Toyoda. Then go to Hamamatsu known for Unagi eel production. We will stay at hotel located right across Hamamatsu train station. After hotel check-in, enjoy “Holo-Holo” near the hotel. You can try Unagi Domburi for your dinner if you wish.
3 APR (SUN) DAIBA, TOKYO,

Shizuoka is the “Green tea capital” responsible for over 40% of Japan’s tea production. We will visit Green Pia Makinohara to enjoy tasting Japanese tea and shopping for green tea and tea products. If the weather is fine, we will ride the Fuji Sky View Ferris wheel that overlooks Mt. Fuji on our way to Hakone an internationally well-known holiday resort within Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park. We will visit Owakudani Valley also called “Hell Valley,” a volcanic valley with active sulfur & hot springs. A short walking trail leads into the volcanic zone with several steam vents and bubbling pools. Then head to Daiba, a new major shopping district of Tokyo. We will stay 2 nights at the hotel located easy walking distance to Aqua City Shopping Mall with 100-YEN shop, restaurant section, Ramen alley, etc. After hotel check in, tour guides will take you to shopping area. In the evening, beautiful illumination of Rainbow Bridge and Tokyo tower, etc., can be seen from right in front of our hotel.

All day Tokyo City Tour! Enjoy riding Yurikamome, Tokyo’s new waterfront transit system to visit Toyosu Wholesale Market opened in 2018 to enjoy shopping for Dried Seafood, Tsukudani, Tsukemono pickles, etc (those who want to). Next, proceed by bus to Asakusa, Tokyo’s most visited tourist destination. Visit Senso-ji Temple Tokyo’s oldest temple originally built in the 7th century. Also, you will get chance to walk through and shop at Nakamise Shopping street, lined with many traditional souvenir shops and food stalls begin from Kaminari Gate with large red lantern that is familiar landmark of Tokyo. After going back to the hotel, Free Time to finish Shopping, Packing, etc. (Lunch and Dinner will be at your own expense.)
5 APR (TUE) TOKYO / HONOLULU,
At checkout time our agent will come to tape and tie-up the boxes and take the baggage to be checked-in down. In the afternoon proceed to Narita International Airport to catch Airline Flight # in the evening to Honolulu. Arrive in Honolulu the same morning, 5 APR (TUE) After clearing U.S. Customs, proceed home. (Lunch and dinner will be at your own expense.)
Clients remaining back will be assisted in obtaining plane, train, and hotel reservations. Members may return to Honolulu individually, but no later than 90 days from day of departure. Weekend returns will cost more per person. Please call our office if you are extending your stay. MAHALO!
