16 APR (SAT) CENTRAIR AIRPORT, AICHI,
Arrive at Chubu Centrair International Airport and after clearing government formalities, walk to the hotel connecting to Terminal building. After hotel check in, tour guides will take you Holo-Holo at Airport building with many souvenir shops, restaurants serving delicious local foods of Nagoya area.
17 APR (SUN) KOMAGANE HEIGHTS,
KOMAGANE RESORT LINX (ONSEN) ♨
Head to Kiso Valley, a historical site filled with natural beauty that runs alongside the Central Japan Alps. Visit Magomejuku Old town where you can experience ancient Japan in the well-preserved post station of Edo period (17th-19th century). Enjoy leisurely stroll through the charming stone paved street featuring unique wooden and plaster Edo style houses offering a glimpse of the skillful craftsmanship at that time. You will feel like you traveled back in time to Samurai period! Later go to see Hanamomo (Hana Peach Blossom). This is unusual type of peach tree with 3 different shades of pink flowers blooming from one tree. If the timing is right the whole village will be filled with pink color. This beautiful scenery is called “Shangri-La in Japan.” Then proceed to Komagane Heights located at the foot of the magnificent Southern and Central Japan Alps. Tonight’s hotel is secluded and lovely mountain resort surrounded by forest. Tonight you can enjoy a relaxing soak at the Onsen Hot Spring bath.
18 APR (MON) AKAKURA HEIGHTS,

This morning we will visit Kozenji Temple if timing is right, we could see over 70 hanging Sakura Cherry trees in bloom. It is praised as "Nagano’s best Cherry blossom spot." Later head to the quaint town of Obuse, renowned for its charming streets with well-preserved historic buildings of which many are utilized as shops, restaurants, Sake breweries, etc. We will visit Katsushika Hokusai Museum. Katsushika Hokusai (1760~1849) is an author of Japan’s exquisite and aesthetic Ukiyoe woodblock prints. Enjoy Japanese beauty through exhibits of his celebrated beautiful masterpieces. Obuse is also famous for its delicious Chestnuts. Perfect opportunity you can buy a variety of locally grown chestnuts products such as Chestnuts Yokan, Kuri paste, etc. We will also visit Floral Garden Obuse shows great variety of flowers planted within the garden landscape, ponds, giant flowerbeds, etc. This beautiful scenery is a symbol of the flower town Obuse. Then head to Akakura Heights. We will stay at a classic Japanese Mountain Resort hotel nestled high at 3,300 feet on the slopes of majestic Mt. Myoko. Enjoy ultimate Japanese mountain resort experience with Onsen Hot Spring bath and Open-air bath with beautiful mountain scenery. They have 1 private Onsen bath available free of charge.
19 APR (TUE) NIIGATA,
ANA CROWNE PLAZA NIIGATA
Head to Niigata City to visit Niigata Furusato Village that offers an overview of Niigata’s history and culture with many exhibits. It is also good place to enjoy shopping for local specialties such as Traditional handicraft, Sake, Dried Seafood, etc. Then visit the Shirone Kite Museum with its exhibits of 500 rare kites from across Japan and the world. See the huge "24 tatami mats size" kite which is used in the local Giant kite battle festival. We will also see dynamic 3-D movie of this Giant kite battle. Later enjoy Strawberry Picking tasting fresh and sweet Japanese strawberries in season. Then head to our hotel located within walking distance to shopping mall with 100 Yen shop, Supermarket, UNIQLO, etc. After hotel check in, tour guides will take you “Holo-Holo” near the hotel.
20 APR (WED) SADO ISLAND,
FAMILIO SADO AIKAWA (ONSEN) ♨
Board the JETFOIL to Sado Island, filled with picturesque scenery with an interesting history, unique culture, traditional arts, and entertainments. Upon arrival on the island, enjoy "Tarai-bune" the traditional washtub boat ride. Experience one of Sado Island’s rich traditions as tubs were used for catching abalones in very winding and narrow coves. Later visit Obata Sake Brewery. Enjoy the famous Sado Sake, and watch a short English movie about its Sake. Later go to Sado Gold Mine that had been in operation for 388 years starting from 1601. Go inside the mine with its display of robots recreating scenes from the old gold mining days. For those who have been here before, you can try Doyuko Course with actual hauling inspection tunnel which had been used until 1989. You will see the symbolic Doyu-no Wareto or split mountain at the end of this route. Tonight we will stay at a pleasant beachside resort hotel that offers a grand view of the East Sea from your room. Enjoy a relaxing soak at the Onsen Hot Spring bath.
21 APR (THU) NIIGATA,
ANA CROWNE PLAZA NIIGATA
Visit "One of the Best scenic spots on Sado Island" Senkaku Scenic Bay with its steep rocky cliffs that stretches over 1 mile. It praised as resembling the Northern European fjord. A series of 100 feet high cliffs will overwhelm you. We will also visit Aquarium to see coastal fish up close. Later stop at Toki (Crested Ibis) no Mori Park to see symbolic bird of Sado Island “Toki” with your own eyes. This internationally protected bird is once becoming extinct in Japan but now once again inhabits Sado Island. Then catch a Jetfoil to go back to Niigata city. After arrival at hotel, free time to enjoy shopping or just rest.
22 APR (FRI) YAMAGATA,

Head to Yamagata, Japan’s premier Sake-producing region beloved for its clean and light flavor Sake. Visit its cornerstone Dewazakura Sake Brewery, one of the most prestigious breweries in Japan that founded in 1892. They produce smooth, fragrant, and delicious Sake often called "Wine drinker’s Sake". Fruity flavor notes reminiscent of certain white wines. They have won Gold Medal for 19 consecutive years in the U.S. National Sake Appraisal. Later stop at AEON Shopping mall to enjoy shopping before going to our hotel that is connecting to Yamagata train station and its shopping building which you can buy local souvenirs, etc. After hotel check in tour guides will take you “Holo-Holo.”
23 APR (SAT) LAKE INAWASHIRO,

Visit the best cherry blossom viewing spot in Yamagata, "Kajo park" with about 1,500 cherry trees. If timing is right, we will see the stunning view of the cherry blossoms reflected on the surface of the moat with majestic appearance of the main gate of the castle. Later proceed to Yonezawa a beautiful and bucolic old castle town of powerful Uesugi clan that had continued 13th generation since 1601. This town is known for traditional cloth weaving and nationally renowned Yonezawa beef. We will enjoy a Safflower dying experience which is designated as a National Traditional Craft. You can make your own "One and Only" souvenir of Yonezawa. Then go to Sakura Toge, a mountain pass filled with 3,000 Yama-zakura (Hill Sakura Cherry). If timing is right, we will see Sakura blossoms with snowcapped mountains as a dramatic backdrop. Then head to Aizu-Wakamatsu or the "Samurai City" retains a strong sense of history as a former castle town. We will taste its signature local specialty snack “Miso Dengaku” is charcoal grilled mochi, rice, tofu, etc., with miso. It is said originally started from field-cooking of Samurais. Also enjoy shopping for healthy local foods, naturally fermented miso, pickled vegetables, etc. We will stay at resort hotel offers magnificent views of Lake Inawashiro from your room. Enjoy a relaxing soak at the Hot Spring bath and Open-Air bath.

Visit the newly opened in Sep 2020, Great East Japan Earthquake and Nuclear Disaster Memorial Museum that aim to pass down the memories and records of the massive March 11. 2011 earthquake, tsunami and subsequent nuclear disaster never experienced in Japan. See exhibitions of local people’s efforts to rebuild their lives after the unprecedented disaster, items of disaster-related materials, videos showing the scenes of destruction, etc. We will be able to gain a deeper understanding of the disaster event and the aftermath. Then go to Hitachi Seaside Park. This Park is famous worldwide for its Sky Blue Nemophila Flower Garden. You will see 5.3-million small blue bell-shaped flowers blanketing the entire hill of enormous park this will depend on climate of the year. This amazing and picturesque scenery is praised as "Japan's most spectacular flower event in spring." Then proceed to resort hotel that is located by Oarai beach with beautiful sights of the ocean and pine trees. Enjoy relaxing soak in Onsen Hot Spring bath.
25 APR (MON) YOKOHAMA,

Go to Ashikaga Flower Park to view its world famous “Great Wisteria.” This over 160-year-old ancient wisteria tree is said to be the "Most beautiful wisteria in the world" and selected as the "Top 10 Dream Destinations in the World" by CNN. Enjoy the fairytale-like scenery in breathtaking “Wisteria Wonderland.” (Blooming level depends on climate of the year). Then go to Tokyo and visit Ameyoko, one of Japan’s most popular shopping streets, filled with many shops offering discounts on all kinds of products including dried seafood, candies, T-shirts, snacks, etc. Enjoy strolling through this amazing bustling & lively shopping district with the charming atmosphere of historic downtown Tokyo. Then go to Yokohama the 2nd largest city in Japan. We will stay 2 nights at hotel connecting to underground shopping mall and within walking distance to department store, big electronics store, 100Yen shop, etc. Enjoy shopping after hotel check-in!
26 APR (TUE) YOKOHAMA,
YOKOHAMA BAY SHERATON HOTEL & TOWERS
In the morning visit Yokohama Wholesale Market to enjoy shopping of Japanese traditional foods, such as Tsukemono pickles, Umeboshi, etc., at a wholesale price. Later head to Tokyo to visit Hama Rikyu Garden, a large, attractive landscape garden build in 1654, Edo period with an atmosphere of utter tranquility. This peaceful strolling garden is surrounded by high-rise skyscrapers of the adjacent business district in Tokyo. A stark contrast between the old "Edo" and the new "Tokyo" is superb. We will see Wisteria blooming by the pond this time of season (Blooming level is depending on climate of the year). Then go back to the hotel in Yokohama. Upon arrival, enjoy shopping or just rest. (Lunch and dinner will be at your own expense.)
27 APR (WED) YOKOHAMA / HONOLULU,
At checkout time our agent will come to tape and tie-up the boxes and take the baggage to be checked-in down. In the afternoon proceed to Narita International Airport to catch Airline Flight # in the evening to Honolulu. Arrive in Honolulu the same morning, 27 APR (Wednesday). After clearing U.S. Customs, proceed home. (Lunch and dinner will be at your own expense.)
Clients remaining back will be assisted in obtaining plane, train, and hotel reservations. Members may return to Honolulu individually, but no later than 90 days from day of departure. Weekend returns will cost more per person. Please call our office if you are extending your stay. MAHALO!
