15 APR (SAT) CENTRAIR AIRPORT, AICHI,
Arrive at Chubu Centrair International Airport and after clearing government formalities, walk to the hotel connecting to Terminal building. After hotel check in, tour guides will take you Holo-Holo at Airport building with many souvenir shops, restaurants serving delicious local foods of Nagoya area.
16 APR (SUN) KOMAGANE HEIGHTS,
KOMAGANE RESORT LINX (ONSEN) ♨
Head to Kiso Valley, a historical site filled with natural beauty that runs alongside the Central Japan Alps. Visit Magomejuku Old town where you can experience ancient Japan in the well-preserved post station of Edo period (17th-19th century). Enjoy leisurely stroll through the charming stone paved street featuring unique wooden and plaster Edo style houses offering a glimpse of the skillful craftsmanship at that time. You'll feel like you traveled back in time to Samurai period! Later go to see Hanamomo (Hana Peach Blossom). This is unusual type of peach tree with 3 different shades of pink flowers blooming from one tree. If the timing is right the whole village will be filled with pink color. This beautiful scenery is called “Shangri-La in Japan.” Then proceed to Komagane Heights located at the foot of the magnificent Southern and Central Japan Alps. Tonight’s hotel is secluded and lovely mountain resort surrounded by forest. You can enjoy a relaxing soak at the Hot Spring bath & Open air bath where you can feel nature while soaking.
17 APR (MON) MYOKO HEIGHTS,

This morning we will visit Kozenji Temple if timing is right, we could see over 70 hanging Sakura Cherry trees in bloom. It is praised as "Nagano’s best Cherry blossom spot." Later head to the quaint small town of Obuse, renowned for its charming streets with well-preserved historic buildings of which many are utilized as shops, restaurants, Sake breweries, etc. We'll visit Katsushika Hokusai Museum. Katsushika Hokusai (1760~1849) is an author of Japan’s exquisite and aesthetic Ukiyoe Woodblock Prints. You can enjoy Japanese beauty through exhibits of his celebrated beautiful masterpieces. Obuse is also known as "Chestnut Town" because of its delicious Chestnuts. Perfect opportunity you can buy a variety of locally grown chestnuts products such as Chestnuts Yokan, Kuri paste, etc. We will also visit Floral Garden Obuse shows great variety of flowers planted within the landscape garden, ponds, giant flowerbeds, etc. This beautiful scenery is a symbol of the flower town Obuse. Then head to Myoko Heights. Our hotel sits on a magnificent highland that overlooking the majestic and impressive mountain scenery. Enjoy soaking in the Onsen Hot Spring Open-air bath with beautiful mountain scenery.
18 APR (TUE) NIIGATA,

Head to Niigata City to visit Niigata Furusato Village that offers an overview of Niigata’s history and culture with many exhibits. It is also good place to enjoy shopping for local specialties such as Traditional handicraft, Sake, Dried seafood, etc. And visit Shirone Kite Museum with its exhibits of 500 rare kites from across Japan and the world. See the huge "24 tatami mats size" kite which is used in the local Giant kite battle festival. We’ll also see dynamic 3-D movie of this exciting Giant kite battle. Then head to our hotel located within walking distance to shopping mall with 100Yen shop, Supermarket, UNIQLO, etc. After hotel check in, tour guides will take you Holo-Holo near the hotel.
19 APR (WED) SADO ISLAND,
FAMILIO SADO AIKAWA (ONSEN) ♨
Board the Jetfoil to Sado Island, Japan's sixth largest island filled with a lot of picturesque scenery, an interesting history, unique culture, traditional arts, and entertainments. Upon arrival on the island, enjoy riding the "Tarai-bune" traditional washtub boat. You'll be able to experience one of Sado Island’s rich traditions as tubs were used for catching abalones in very winding and narrow coves. Later visit Obata Sake Brewery. Enjoy the fine taste of the famous Sado Sake and watch a short English movie about their Sake. Then go to Sado Gold Mine that is now on the nomination list for UNESCO's World Heritage inscription. Once was the largest gold mine in Japan which had been in operation for 388 years starting from 1601. Go inside the mine with its display of robots recreating scenes from the old gold mining days. For those who have been here before, you can try Doyuko Course with actual hauling inspection tunnel which had been used until 1989. You'll see the symbolic Doyuno Wareto or split mountain at the end of this route. We'll stay at a pleasant beachside resort hotel which offers a grand view of the East Sea from your room. Enjoy a night on Sado island with relaxing soak at the Onsen Hot Spring bath.
20 APR (THU) NIIGATA,

Visit "One of the Best scenic spots on Sado Island" Senkaku Scenic Bay with its steep rocky cliffs that stretches over 1 mile. It praised as resembling the Northern European fjord. A series of 100 feet high cliffs will overwhelm you. We will also visit Aquarium to see coastal fishes, shellfishes, etc, live around the island. Then stop at Tokino Mori Park to see symbolic crested ibis of Sado Island “Toki” See the internationally protected bird "Toki" that was once extinct in Japan but now once again inhabits Sado Island. Then catch a Jetfoil to go back to Niigata city. After arrival at hotel, Free time to enjoy shopping or just rest.

In the morning, enjoy Strawberry Picking tasting fresh and sweet Japanese strawberries in season. Head to Yamagata, Japan’s premier Sake-producing region beloved for its clean & light flavor Sake. Visit its cornerstone Dewazakura Sake Brewery, one of the most prestigious breweries in Japan that founded in 1892. They produce smooth, fragrant, and delicious Sake often called "Wine drinker’s Sake". Fruity flavor notes reminiscent of certain white wines. They have won Gold Medal for 20 consecutive years in the U.S National Sake Appraisal. Then head to the wonderful highland resort area of Zao. Our hotel is located on the highland where you can look over magnificent Zao mountain range. Enjoy soaking in big Open-air Onsen Hot Spring bath.

Head to Yonezawa a beautiful and bucolic old castle town of powerful Uesugi clan that had continued 13th generation since 1601. Visit Uesugi Shrine dedicated to the great warlord Uesugi Kenshin, who never lost in the war during the Sengoku period (1467-1590). 200 Sakura Cherry trees along the castle moats should be in bloom which create spectacular scenery with their pink blossoms and the red castle bridge reflecting off the surface of the water.We'll enjoy famous Yonezawa beef for Lunch. This local Japanese beef is highly acclaimed for its deliciousness and delicate marbled texture. Later enjoy a Safflower dying experience which is designated as a National Traditional Craft. You can make your own "One and Only" souvenir of Yonezawa. Then proceed to Aizu Wakamatsu or the "Samurai City" retains a strong sense of history as a former castle town. We will taste its signature local specialty snack “Miso Dengaku” is charcoal grilled mochi, rice, tofu, etc., with miso. It is said originally started from field-cooking of Samurais. You can also enjoy shopping for healthy local foods, naturally fermented miso, pickled vegetables, etc. We will stay at resort hotel offers magnificent views of Lake Inawashiro from your room. Enjoy a relaxing soak at the Onsen Hot Spring bath and Open-Air bath.

Enjoy riding on chartered Ozatoro Tembo Scenic Train. You can view stunning scenery with beautiful gorge, rivers, bridge, etc., during the ride. The train has two interesting carriages. You can choose either the tram carriage or the tatami-floored carriage. Then head to Mashiko, renowned throughout Japan as a pottery production center has produced pottery for over a thousand years. Mashiko-yaki pottery is today highly regarded as a fine example of Japanese folk craft. You will get a chance to see a great variety of pottery and enjoy shopping Then go to Mito, an old castle town of Mito clan that is most famous for Mito Komon of historical TV drama. Our hotel is located next to Mito train station. You can enjoy shopping after hotel check-in.
24 APR (MON)YOKOHAMA,
YOKOHAMA BAY SHERATON HOTEL & TOWERS
Go to Hitachi Seaside Park that is famous worldwide for its Sky-blue Nemophila Flower Garden. You'll see 5.3-million small blue bell-shaped flowers blanketing the entire hill of enormous park this will depend on climate of the year. This amazing and picturesque scenery is praised as "Japan's most spectacular flower event in spring" Then go to Ashikaga Flower Park to view its world famous “Great Wisteria.” This over 160-year-old ancient wisteria tree is said to be the "Most beautiful wisteria in the world" and selected as one of the "Top 10 Dream Destinations in the World" by CNN. Enjoy the fairytale-like scenery in breathtaking “Wisteria Wonderland.” (Blooming level depends on climate of the year). Then head to Yokohama the 2nd largest city in Japan. We will stay 2 nights at hotel connecting to underground shopping mall and within walking distance to department store, big electronics store, 100Yen shop, etc. Enjoy shopping after hotel check-in!
25 APR (TUE) YOKOHAMA,
YOKOHAMA BAY SHERATON HOTEL & TOWERS
In the morning visit Yokohama Wholesale Market to enjoy shopping of Japanese traditional foods, such as Tsukemono pickles, Umeboshi, etc., at a wholesale price. Then go to Tokyo to visit Hama Rikyu Garden, a large, attractive landscape garden build in 1654, Edo period with an atmosphere of utter tranquility. This peaceful strolling garden is surrounded by modern high-rise skyscrapers of the adjacent business district in Tokyo. A stark contrast between the old "Edo" and the new "Tokyo" is superb. We will see Wisteria blooming by the pond this time of season (Blooming level is depending on climate of the year). After lunch, we will visit Ameyoko, one of Japan’s most popular shopping streets, filled with many shops offering discounts on all kinds of products including dried seafood, candies, T-shirts, snacks, etc. Enjoy strolling through this amazing bustling and lively shopping district with the charming atmosphere of historic downtown Tokyo. Then go back to the hotel in Yokohama. Upon arrival, enjoy shopping or just rest. We will give everyone a carton box to use for packing their gifts. (2 pieces per person, baggage allowance. Any excess will be paid for by the member). (Lunch and dinner will be at your own expense.)
26 APR (WED) YOKOHAMA / HONOLULU,
At checkout time our agent will come to tape and tie-up the boxes and take the baggage to be checked-in down. In the afternoon proceed to Narita International Airport to catch Airline Flight # in the evening to Honolulu. Arrive in Honolulu the same morning, 26 APR (Wednesday). After clearing U.S. Customs, proceed home. (Lunch and dinner will be at your own expense.)
Clients remaining back will be assisted in obtaining plane, train, and hotel reservations. Members may return to Honolulu individually, but no later than 90 days from day of departure. Weekend returns will cost more per person. Please call our office if you are extending your stay. MAHALO!
