NOV. 5 (SUN) HONOLULU,

Leave Daniel K. Inouye Int’l Airport. A meal and snack will be served aboard the flight. FREE Movies and Drinks.


NOV. 6 (MON) KYOTO,

MIYAKO HOTEL KYOTO HACHIJO

Arrive at Haneda Int'l Airport and after clearing government formalities, transfer to your connecting flight to Itami Airport in Osaka. After clearing entry formalities, by bus to Kyoto, which carries a reputation as the “Most Beautiful City in Japan.” We will be staying 2 nights at our hotel which is located right in front of Kyoto Station and close to Aeon shopping mall including Supermarket, UNIQLO, 100yen shop, etc.


NOV. 7 (TUE) KYOTO,

MIYAKO HOTEL KYOTO HACHIJO

All day Kyoto city tour! Kyoto was awarded as the "World’s best city to travel" by the US magazine Travel+Leisure. Enjoy the most historical city in Japan with over 1,200-year history. We will visit Arashiyama, a major sightseeing area in Western Kyoto’s. Pleasant scenery combined with its landmark Togetsu Bridge, river flow & forested mountain in the background are breathtaking. Later, visit World cultural heritage site, Nijo Castle with beautiful Japanese garden which built in 1603 for the residence of Tokugawa shoguns. It's an excellent example of traditional castle defensive structures that noted for the contrast of its solemn appearance & gorgeous interiors boasting delicate transom woodcarving & fabulous paintings. visit Saga-giku Chrysanthemum Exhibition. See beautiful displays of Traditional Antique “Saga Chrysanthemum,” a special variety of chrysanthemum with brush-like petals has been cultivated exclusively in Daikaku-ji Temple. After going back to the hotel, tour guides will take you “Holo Holo” around the hotel.


NOV. 8 (WED) TAKAYAMA,

This morning you will enjoy “Picking & Tasting Sweet Japanese Persimmons” a seasonal Autumn fruit in Japan in season! After enjoying shopping & lunch at Aeon Shopping mall go to Takayama while viewing the magnificent Autumn scenery turned red and yellow (depending on climate of the year). Takayama boasts “One of Japan’s most atmospheric townscapes” and has maintained its original Japanese landscape form. It makes this town “Japan’s Must visit sightseeing spot” for tourists from overseas. We will stay 2 nights at hotel which you can enjoy a relaxing soak in the Onsen Hot Spring bath and Open-Air Bath. Enjoy delicious Japanese Kaiseki dinner in the evening.


NOV. 9 (THU) TAKAYAMA,

HOTEL ASSOCIA TAKAYAMA RESORT (ONSEN)

All day Takayama city tour! First, visit Historical Government House, built 330 years ago, and served as the Edo government’s administrative building for 177 years. It is the one & only building of its kind remaining today. Also visit the interesting Takayama Morning Open Market in front of the Government house. It is Takayama’s best known sight. Lots of stands selling local crafts, farm products, etc. Later enjoy browsing around the Old town district, beautifully preserves the quaint atmosphere of an old castle town during the Edo period with antique merchant’s houses and age-old specialty shops carrying famous Local Sake, Hida lacquerware which has a long history dating back to 1606. Then to Matsurino mori festival museum showcasing the key aspects of Takayama Festival with gorgeous and splendid floats. You'll see and feel the atmosphere of "1 of 3 most beautiful festivals in Japan."


NOV. 10 (FRI) KANAZAWA,

ANA CROWNE PLAZA HOTEL KANAZAWA

Visit a World Heritage Site, beautiful Gassho-Zukuri Village in Shirakawago. This historic mountain village is famed for its unique architecture “Gassho or steep sloping gable roof style farmhouses,” which was developed to survive severe weather with heavy snowfall. Enjoy strolling around the village that was chosen as “1 of the World’s 10 Greatest Towns for Architecture Fans" by CNN. Later chalenge yourself in Making your own traditional Gokayama Washi paper. You'll also learn the history and tradition of beautiful Gokayama Washi paper which is accredited as a Traditional Japanese Handicraft. Then go to the historic castle town "Kanazawa" which has been registered as a UNESCO’s Creative City of Crafts and Folk Art. Kanazawa produces 99 % of Japan’s gold leaf. We will visit Hakuza Gold foil shop. Its “Golden Tea Ceremony Room” made using about 40,000 pieces of pure gold leaf is a sight to see. We'll stay 2 nights at hotel that is located close to Kanazawa train station with big shopping area carrying Kanazawa’s local specialties. You can enjoy shopping after hotel check-in.


NOV. 11 (SAT) KANAZAWA,

Go to Japan’s No.1 Wood carving center Inami, well-known for their skilled wood carvers & sculptors. You'll admire elaborate wood carvings at Wood Carving Hall displaying over 200 traditional wood carvings that have 220 years history. Also enjoy browsing around ancient stone paved street of Yokamachi lined with sculpture workshops decorated with woodcarving signs & doorplates. Then go back to Kanazawa called “1 of the Best-Preserved Cities in Japan.” We will explore this beautiful city full of charm where a lot of old neighborhoods have been kept intact. Visit Nagamachi Old Samurai Town to take a pleasant walk around the “Old Samurai town” and visit elegant Nomura’s Samurai House with its beautiful Japanese garden. This graceful garden is highly praised by the Japanese Garden Journal (USA) as “1 of the very best Japanese gardens.” Later we will visit Kenrokuen Garden, considered to be 1 of Japan’s 3 best landscape gardens has the typical features of a large, treed garden with plentiful water landscaping. Every step and turn in the garden bring a new view to stop and admire.


NOV. 12 (SUN) WAJIMA, NOTO,

HOTEL KOSHUEN (ONSEN)

Head to Noto peninsula, holding unparalleled beauty with many magnificent sights via Chirihama Seaside Driveway. This 5-mile hard fine sand packed along the beach creates a natural driveway that any kind of vehicle can drive on it. This is the only place in Japan where we can enjoy driving along the surf & shoreline. (depending on weather & condition). Then go to Noto Kongo scenic coast with sheer cliffs & unusual rock formations that are considered the most dramatic section of Noto peninsula. Visit Kiriko Art Museum exhibiting 31 impressive Kiriko lantern floats to express the atmosphere of this exciting festival unique to Noto peninsula. See beautiful Wajima-nuri Lacquerware designated as a “National Intangible Cultural Property.” See the precious works and highly refined skills that have been passed down over 1,000 years. Also visit Senmaida (1 thousand rice paddies), infinite terraced small rice paddies spread like stairways to the ocean on a slope which is designated as a National cultural asset. Enjoy those exquisitely beautiful sceneries in Noto. Then head to hotel in Wajima. Enjoy relaxing soak in the Hot Spring bath & Open-air bath facing to Japan sea. After dinner, enjoy Gojinjo Taiko show a ritual drum performance native to Wajima. The ferocious drumming, ghoulish masks & aggressive dances are said to have originated as a method of scaring away invaders in the 1500s.


NOV. 13 (MON) HAKUBA,

SIERRA RESORT HAKUBA (ONSEN)

We'll visit the famous Wajima Morning Market 1 of Japan’s 3 biggest Morning Markets. With about 200 stalls lining the main street offers various products like folk crafts, farm products, primarily fresh seafood landed daily at Wajima Port, including delicious “Steamed Abalone.” Then we also enjoy shopping at Nanao Sea food Market specializing in seafood landed in Nanao Port. Later visit Uozu Buried Forest Museum, located at the actual site where a 500-year-old virgin cedar forests were buried and preserved. It is breathtaking to see giant roots and stumps that lay inundated from over 2,000 years ago that is designated as a “Special National Monument.” Later head to Hakuba, situated in the heart of stunningly beautiful “Northern Japan Alps” and thus considered Japan's premier alpine resort destination. We will stay at an excellent mountain resort hotel surrounded by mountain. This hotel has been ranked high as “Most popular hotels in Japan” by TripAdvisor. Enjoy a relaxing soak in the Hot Spring bath where you can see Japan Alps beyond the forest. Private Onsens are available free of charge.


NOV. 14 (TUE) YATSUGATAKE HIGHLANDS,

YATSUGATAKE GRACE HOTEL

Go to a picturesque mountain resort area, Azumino, while viewing the magnificent scenery of the strikingly beautiful northern Japan alps along the way. We will visit Azumido Oyaki bun shop. “Oyaki bun” is one of the most famous local foods of Nagano. You will get a chance to try this nutritiously balanced snack consist of a buckwheat bun stuffed with local vegetables or Anko bean paste. Nagano is one of Japan’s top apple producing prefectures. Enjoy Picking & Tasting Nagano Apple. You can taste fresh and sweet Nagano Apples in season. Nagano is also famous for its Shinshu Miso which is widely loved throughout Japan. Visit a Miso Factory to see the process of making local Shinshu Miso and purchase them. We will stay at Resort hotel in Yatsugatake Highland resort area famous for beautiful star-filled sky. Your room is facing to Mt. Yatsugatake called "Mt.Fuji's biggest rival." You can enjoy a relaxing soak in the Public bath using spring water from Yatsugatake. 


NOV. 15 (WED) YOKOHAMA,

YOKOHAMA BAY SHERATON HOTEL & TOWERS

In the morning visit the Music Box Museum to see its surprising “Dynamic Music Show” played by antique music boxes automatically playing real instruments such as Piano, Cymbals, Violin, etc. Later head to Lake Kawaguchi, a very popular resort area located at the foot of Mt. Fuji. If the weather is fine a magnificent view of the Symbol of Japan “Mt. Fuji can be seen on the way. We will visit Itchiku Kubota Art Museum which is praised as “1 of the World’s Most Remarkable Museums Devoted to Textiles.” See the magnificent collection of one of a kind breathtaking Kimonos made with revived traditional technique of silk dyeing. If the timing is right, this area will be filled with beautiful Autumn leaves. Then head to Japan’s 2nd largest city Yokohama. We will stay 2 nights at the hotel which is in a very convenient location within easy walking distance to Department Store, Big Electronics Store, ¥100 Yen Shop and Underground Shopping Mall. After hotel check in, tour guides will take you “Holo-Holo” around the hotel.


NOV. 16 (THU) YOKOHAMA,

YOKOHAMA BAY SHERATON HOTEL & TOWERS

Visit Tokyo Sky Tree. "New symbol of Tokyo" is the world’s highest stand-alone tower boasting a height of 2,080 ft. From its observation deck, you can enjoy the best 360-degree panoramic spectacular views out over Japan’s giant metropolis. You will also get a chance to visit its interesting shopping complex "Tokyo Solamachi." There are many highly specialized shops that offer a variety of Japanese traditional crafts & pop-culture goods. Enjoy shopping & lunch at Ario Shopping Mall with Supermarket, ¥100 Yen Shop, etc. Then go to Ameyoko, “One of Japan’s Most Popular Shopping Streets.” filled with over 400 shops dealing discounts on all kinds of items which includes seafood, sweets, T-shirts, snacks, etc. After going back to the hotel, Free Time to continue Shopping, Packing, etc. (Lunch/dinner will be at your own expense)


NOV. 17 (FRI)  YOKOHAMA / HONOLULU

At checkout time our agent will come to tape & tie-up the boxes & take the baggage to be checked-in down. In the afternoon proceed to Haneda Int'l Airport to catch Airline Flight # in the evening to Honolulu. Arrive in Honolulu the same morning, NOV. 17 (FRI) After clearing U.S. Customs, proceed home. (Lunch/dinner will be at your own expense).


Clients remaining back will be assisted in obtaining plane, train, and hotel reservations. Members may return to Honolulu individually, but no later than 90 days from day of departure. Weekend returns will cost more per person. Please call our office if you are extending your stay. MAHALO!
