Leave Daniel K. Inouye Int’l Airport. A meal and snack will be served aboard the flight. FREE Movies and Drinks.


26 NOV (SUN) KAWASAKI,

HOTEL METROPOLITAN KAWASAKI

Arrive at Haneda Int'l Airport and after clearing entry government formalities, go directly to the hotel in Kawasaki, the third largest city in the Tokyo metropolitan area. We’ll stay 3 nights at hotel in very convenient location. Easy walking distance to Kawasaki train station and shopping complexes including the Lazona Shopping mall with over 300 shops. 


27 NOV (MON) KAWASAKI,

HOTEL METROPOLITAN KAWASAKI

This morning we will visit Yokohama Wholesale Market to buy Japanese traditional foods such as Tsukemono pickles, Umeboshi, etc., at wholesale price. Then head to Chinzanso Garden, one of Tokyo’s most spectacular Japanese gardens to enjoy Autumn leaves. We will have an elegant lunch time at the historic hotel where you can view the fall scenery of Japanese garden with the special “Tokyo Sea of Clouds show.” You will see the beautiful misty views that clouds beneath you, rolling over the garden just like the waves of the ocean. Then drive to National Diet Building the road leading to the building is famous spot has a superb view of beautiful Autumn foliage of Ginkgo trees. Also visit Tokyo Tower, the famous red and white colored tower is one of Tokyo’s most iconic structures. This 1,092 feet tall tower was completed in 1958 and serves as a symbol of Tokyo’s rebirth after World War II. Its observation deck provides extensive views across Tokyo. In the evening, for those who wish to take a Yokohama Night View tour. In the winter, the city transforms into a light up magical winter wonderland by elaborate and beautiful illuminations. 


28 NOV (TUE) KAWASAKI,

HOTEL METROPOLITAN KAWASAKI

Go to Kamakura, a historical picturesque town that retains traces of turbulent medieval Japan. It has a long and illustrious history reflected in its architectural legacy in shrines and temples. We will visit Kamakura’s most important and significant shrine Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine. It became the center of politics and culture during the Kamakura Period (1185~1333). It will be in season of the fabulous Autumn colors. Red and yellow-colored trees blend remarkably with the shrine buildings making it pure soul-nurturing beauty. Later enjoy leisurely strolling on Komachi Street lined with Japanese-style sweet shops, Traditional souvenir shops, etc., unique to the ancient city with an old historic atmosphere. Then go to see Great Buddha of Kamakura. Japan’s second largest 43.8 feet tall a monumental bronze Buddha statue is the symbol of Kamakura. It was cast in the year 1252 and designated as a National Treasure. 


29 NOV (WED) AKISHIMA, TOKYO,

FOREST INN SHOWAKAN

Head to Tokyo to enjoy Autumn Leaves that should be during the right season. Enjoy driving around Tokyo metropolitan area to see the brilliant fall colors scenery. First, we will visit Zojoji temple, originally built in 1393 and was the family temple of Tokugawa Shoguns that ruled Japan in the Edo period (1603-1868). This beautiful and peaceful temple’s massive main building with symbolic Tokyo Tower in the background makes for postcard like pictures. Then we will drive by Meiji shrine Outer Precinct, one of the most beautiful Autumn foliage spots in Tokyo. If timing is right, the rows of uniquely trimmed Ginkgo trees turn into stunning golden color. Later visit Japan Open-Air Folk House Museum, an outdoor museum preserving Twenty five traditional Japanese houses which were relocated to here from all over Japan. You will see traditional farmhouses, samurai houses, merchant houses, houses from post towns, homes from fishing villages and a kabuki stage. All are set in a beautiful landscape. You will feel like you are taking a trip back in time while walking. And visit Tokyo’s largest amusement park Yomiuri Land offering fun and entertainment to Tokyoites since 1964. We will see "Jewellumination (named after Jewel and Illumination)" which is the largest illumination festival in Kanto region. Everywhere in this amusement park has been lit up by 6.5 million lights. Those beautiful winter landscape lights sparkle like a thousand jewels. Then proceed to Akishima in western Tokyo close to Yokota air base. We will stay at quiet urban resort hotel with 16-acre vast forest in background. You can enjoy peaceful walk in the morning while viewing Autumn colored trees. 


30 NOV (THU) LAKE YAMANAKA,

HOTEL MOUNT FUJI (ONSEN) ♨

Go to Mt. Takao, specified for the maximum of 3-star sightseeing spot in Japan by French travel guidebook for its magnificent beauty. Ride the Japan’s steepest Cable Car at 889 feet difference of elevation to enjoy beautiful Autumn scenery depending on climate of the year. On a clear day you can observe a superb view of Kanto plain, skyscrapers of downtown Tokyo, etc. Later visit Saru-hashi (Monkey bridge), 1 of 3 most famous ancient bridges in Japan, designated as National Place of Scenic Beauty. This bridge keeps its original form made by layering bridge girders without using any pier since 1,300 years ago. Then visit Maglev Exhibition Center. The world’s fastest bullet train at 374 MPH based on Maglev technology will start operation in 2027. We will learn about superconductive linear mechanisms in detail. Then proceed to Lake Yamanaka, the largest of the 5 lakes of Mt. Fuji. We will stay 2 nights at hotel located in highland look over the lake Yamanaka and Mt Fuji. Soak and Relax in Onsen Hot Spring bath and Open air bath with spectacular view of Mt. Fuji. 


1 DEC (FRI) LAKE YAMANAKA,

HOTEL MOUNT FUJI (ONSEN)

In the morning we'll visit Herb Garden Tabi-nikki to take a stroll around the botanical garden with herbal flowers. Also enjoy tasting herb tea and shopping for many herb products such as natural & organic cosmetics, hand cream, soap, etc. The rites of winter in this area are making elaborate traditional "Dried Persimmons" We’ll see photogenic Dried persimmons hanging from farmhouses eaves here you can purchase this Japanese delicacy in winter. Then we will experience an exciting attraction at the foot of Mt. Fuji “Fuji Airways” called the “Next generation Movie Theater.” Take a virtual 4D flight simulation ride that will give you a full sensory experience with stunning aerial views of Mt. Fuji. In the evening for those who wish we'll take you to Lake Yamanaka Art Illumination Festival. We'll see about 100 different illumination displays over vast grounds in a warm scene of lights. Soaking in Onsen Hot Spring bath & Open air bath 


2 DEC (SAT) IZU HATAKE ONSEN,

DAISENYA (ONSEN) ♨

We will visit Chichibunomiya Memorial Park. Originally was Gotemba imperial villa where former Prince and Princess stayed during and after World War II. You can stroll around the garden with Autumn leaves from which Mt. Fuji can be seen on clear days. Then go to Atami in Izu Peninsula, a pleasant seaside resort town famous for its scenic beauty with seasonal aspects surrounded by the sea and mountains. Later visit Atami Baien Garden, known as the latest Autumn color to change in Japan. We will enjoy its Maple Festival. You can see picturesque Autumn sceneries while strolling along the pathway with beautifully colored maple trees along stream. We'll also enjoy popular seasonal attraction in Izu. Have fun Mikan Tangerine picking. "Izu Mikan Tangerine" has the perfect balance of sweetness and tang. Then proceed to Onsen resort hotel where Mt. Fuji can be seen on clear day. Enjoy delicious Japanese Kaiseki dinner in the evening and a relaxing soak at Onsen Hot Spring bath and Open air Roten Buro bath, officially designated as a Hot Spring with recuperative properties by Japan’s Ministry of the Environment. 


3 DEC (SUN) NIHONDAIRA PLATEAU,

NIPPONDAIRA HOTEL

Head to Shuzenji, one of the oldest and most famous hot spring resort towns in Izu and a well-known place to see the Autumn Color. We will visit Shuzenji Maple Forest where you can walk about to see over 1,000 Japanese Maple trees with deep crimson leaves making your autumn pictures stand out. Later visit Izunokuni Panorama Park to ride Rope way to get to 1,483 feet high mountain top where you can enjoy stunningly beautiful landscapes with Mt. Fuji on clear day. Later visit Japan’s longest pedestrian only suspension bridge at 1,312 feet long “Mishima Skywalk.” Here you can see “3 of Japan’s Bests” at once. The bridge is the longest in Japan, Mt. Fuji is the highest mountain in Japan & Suruga Bay is the deepest bay in Japan. We'll stay at Deluxe Resort hotel located on the top of Nihondaira Plateau which is No. 1 in the "Plains" category of the list of Japan's top 100 sightseeing destinations because of the best view of Mt. Fuji. You will have a large picture window in your room that faces Mt. Fuji, you can enjoy Mt. Fuji even while laying down on bed (wishing good weather!)


4 DEC (MON) GOTEMBA,

GOTEMBA KOGEN HOTEL (ONSEN) ♨

Shizuoka is widely known as the “Green tea capital” which is responsible for over 40% of Japan’s tea production. Visit Japanese tea factory store. You can purchase their products including a "Deep-steamed Green Tea" which is said to be "Taste better than other types of Japanese Green Tea." Next head to Aeon Shopping Mall for shopping and lunch. Later we will visit World Heritage Site Shiraito (White Thread) Falls that is designated as National Place of Scenic Beauty and Natural Treasure of Japan. The 492 feet wide cascade is fed by glassy snowmelt water from Mt. Fuji and flows off the edge of a 66 feet high arc-shaped cliff. Hundreds of thin white waterfall that looks like white silk threads from the lava wall. Then go to Gotemba, which boast beautiful views of Mt. Fuji on a clear day. We will stay at popular resort hotel which is located in Gotemba highlands resort complex. In the evening you can enjoy a spectacular Night Illumination featuring 5.5 million lights in 1,500 feet long tunnel. Experience this fascinating display of lights in winter atmosphere. You can also enjoy Onsen Hot Spring bath. 


5 DEC (TUE) YOKOHAMA,

YOKOHAMA BAY SHERATON HOTEL & TOWERS

Today we will head to Hakone an internationally well-known tourist destination in Japan. We will enjoy tranquilizing Boat Cruise on a serene Lake Ashi surrounded by beautiful mountains. You will see the best views of the lake in combination with Mt. Fuji can be seen by boat. Then go to Odawara originally developed as a castle town in the 16th century. We will visit the newly opened Totoco Odawara, a shopping complex carrying local seafood, processed marine products, souvenirs that represent Odawara’s prosperous days as a castle town during the Edo period. Later head to Yokohama, 2nd largest city in Japan. We will stay 2 nights at hotel which is connecting to underground shopping mall and within easy walking distance to department stores, big electronics store, 100 Yen shop, etc. After hotel check-in, tour guide will take you “Holo Holo” around the hotel. 


6 DEC (WED) YOKOHAMA,

YOKOHAMA BAY SHERATON HOTEL & TOWERS

Head to Tokyo to visit Ameyoko, “1 of Japan’s Most Popular Shopping Streets.” filled with over 400 shops dealing discounts on all kinds of items which includes seafood, sweets, T-shirts, snacks, etc. Later, head back to Yokohama and stop at Yokohama World Porters for lunch and another big shopping. Later drive through Yamashita Park Avenue hopefully timing is right as the streets will be golden carpet of ginkgo leaves. We will ride the Sea Bass Ocean bus taking in the views of Yokohama bay area. You will get a chance to visit Christmas Market in Yokohama as well. After going back to the hotel, Free Time to continue shopping, packing etc. (Lunch/Dinner will be at your own expense) 


7 DEC (THU) YOKOHAMA / HONOLULU, 

At checkout time, our agents will come around to tape and tie-up the boxes and take the baggage to be checked-in down. In the afternoon, proceed to Haneda Airport to catch flight in the evening to Honolulu, arriving the same morning, DEC. 7 2023 (Thu) after clearing U.S. Customs, proceed home. (Lunch/dinner will be at your own expense.) 


Clients remaining back will be assisted in obtaining plane, train, and hotel reservations. Members may return to Honolulu individually, but no later than 90 days from day of departure. Weekend returns will cost more per person. Please call our office if you are extending your stay. MAHALO!
