APRIL 13 (SAT) HONOLULU

Leave Daniel K. Inouye International Airport. A meal and snack will be served aboard the flight. Free Movies and Drinks.


APRIL 14 (SUN) KOBE,

HOTEL CROWN PALAIS KOBE

Arrive at Kansai International Airport and after clearing government formalities, by bus to Kobe, one of the most pleasant cities in west Japan. We will stay 2 nights at hotel that is conveniently located close to Kobe’s popular shopping and amusement area where you can enjoy shopping as well as the beautiful sights and tastes of Kobe.


APRIL 15 (MON) KOBE,

HOTEL CROWN PALAIS KOBE

Head to Awaji Island, a wonderful resort island filled with beautiful nature and historic culture. This island is called “Island of flowers” because of a comfortable climate and beautiful flowers blooming all through the year. We will visit Awaji Hana Sajiki Flower Park for a panoramic view of a vast flower garden overlooking Akashi Strait. The season will be perfect for magnificent view of Linaria, Viola, Canola flower, etc., with blue ocean as a backdrop. These pretty flowers create a dreamlike world. Awaji island have offered its high-quality food to the Imperial Family and Imperial Court since ancient times. We will enjoy Awaji Beef for lunch. Awaji beef cattle are the breeding cattle for Japan's most famous brands “Kobe beef.” Later enjoy a Joruri Puppet Show a very particular example of traditional Japanese performing art registered as the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. It’s amazing to see the puppets looking so alive. The art of using puppets in storytelling is representative of Awaji Island which dates back about 500 years. After going back to the hotel in Kobe, you can continue shopping or just rest.


APRIL 16 (TUE) NAGAHAMA,

HOTEL & RESORTS NAGAHAMA (ONSEN)

Visit Asahi Beer Brewery learning the process of making Asahi Super Dry and taste the freshly brewed Beer! Later go to World Kite Museum to see the biggest kite in Japan with a size of equivalent to 100 tatami mats. You will see dynamic movie of Giant kite is flying on 100 inches screen and other exhibitions includes local and traditional kites from all over Japan, as well as unique, colorful kites from various countries around the world. Later enjoy shopping and strolling with an old Samurai era atmosphere at the Castle Road of Yumekyobashi, located at castle site of National treasure “Hikone Castle”. All buildings in this shopping district are reconstructed with the image of Castle town in 1603. Then proceed to Nagahama, a charming old castle town by the Lake Biwa which is the biggest lake in Japan covering 259 square miles. We will stay at resort hotel standing by the lake. By taking a step out of the hotel, you will see a stunning view of the vast lake almost look like ocean. Tonight, enjoy a relaxing soak in the Onsen Hot Spring Open Air Rock bath.


APRIL 17 (WED) KOMAGANE HEIGHTS,

KOMAGANE RESORT LINX (ONSEN)

Head to Sekigahara known for the “Battle of Sekigahara” which was the greatest Samurai battle in Japanese history, bringing the long civil war period to an effective close. We will visit newly opened in 2020, Sekigahara Battlefield Memorial Museum. Various exhibits will help you get a deeper understanding of this major conflict battle which took place here in 1,600. Not only learning how this battle affected Samurai society but also travel back in time and experience what the atmosphere of the battlefield was like on the day it was fought through exhibition with English panel, experience touching weapons and enjoying movie show on Ground Vision Theater, etc. Later go to see Hanamomo (Hana Peach Blossom). This is unusual type of peach tree with 3 different shades of pink flowers blooming from one tree. If the timing is right the whole village will be filled with pink color. This beautiful scenery is called “Shangri-La in Japan.” Then proceed to Komagane Heights located at the foot of the magnificent Southern and Central Japan Alps. Tonight’s hotel is secluded and lovely mountain resort surrounded by forest. You can enjoy a relaxing soak at the Onsen Hot Spring bath and Open air bath where you can feel nature while soaking.


APRIL 18 (THU) NAGAOKA,

HOTEL NEW OTANI NAGAOKA

Visit Japan Ukiyoe Museum exhibiting Ukiyoe (woodblock prints), a cultural heritage developed as an art form in the 17th century during the Edo period. We will see representative masterpieces of all known Ukiyoe artists and slide show in English which explains the current exhibition. Then head to Nagaoka the 2nd largest city in Niigata prefecture. We’ll visit Nagaoka Fireworks Museum. Nagaoka is famous for one of the three most spectacular and magnificent fireworks in Japan. It’s especially renowned for the set of fireworks called “Niagara Falls”, 2133ft long dynamic fireworks display vigorously flows down into river, which is reminiscent “Niagara Falls.” Hotel is located close to Nagaoka station and shopping mall with 100Yen shop,etc. enjoy shopping after hotel check in.


APRIL 19 (FRI) NIIGATA,

Head to Tsubame Sanjo well-known as a metalworking powerhouse that has carried on for over 400 years. Thanks to the precision and skills of local craftsmen, it’s highly regarded as one of World’s leading metal work production areas. They manufacture a huge variety of products such as cutting tools, tableware and other products based on metal-processing technologies. We will enjoy shopping at Tsubame Sanjo Cattery Center in huge store with many selections of the products like Knives, Kitchen wares, Gardening scissors, Saws, etc. Later enjoy Strawberry Picking in season. You can taste fresh and sweet Japanese strawberries as many as you like! Afterwards, stop at Aeon Shopping Mall for lunch and Shopping. Niigata is known as the “Rice capital of Japan” because they produce the “Best rice in Japan” and “High-quality rice products.” We will visit Senbei Kingdom to enjoy “Grilling your own Senbei (rice cracker).” You can also buy fresh Senbei at the factory store. Then head to our hotel located within walking distance to shopping mall with 100 Yen store, Supermarket, UNIQLO, etc. After hotel check in, tour guides will take you “Holo-Holo” near the hotel.


APRIL 20 (SAT) SADO ISLAND,

HOTEL FAMILIO SADO AIKAWA (ONSEN)

In the morning, board the Jetfoil to Sado Island, Japan's sixth largest island filled with a lot of picturesque scenery, an interesting history, unique culture, traditional arts, and entertainments. Upon arrival on the island, enjoy riding the "Tarai-bune" traditional washtub boat. You will be able to experience one of Sado Island’s rich traditions as tubs were used for catching abalones in very winding and narrow coves. Later visit Obata Sake Brewery. Enjoy the fine taste of the famous Sado Sake and watch a short English movie about their Sake. Then go to Sado Gold Mine that is now on the nomination list for UNESCO's World Heritage inscription. Once was the largest gold mine in Japan which had been in operation for 388 years starting from 1601. We will go inside the mine with its display of robots recreating scenes from the old gold mining days. For those who have been here before, you can try Doyuko Course with actual hauling inspection tunnel which had been used until 1989. You will see the symbolic Doyuno Wareto or split mountain at the end of this route. We will stay at a pleasant beachside resort hotel which offers a grand view of the East Sea from your room. Enjoy a night on Sado island with relaxing soak at the Onsen Hot Spring bath.


APRIL 21 (SUN) NIIGATA,

ANA CROWNE PLAZA HOTEL NIIGATA

Visit "One of the Best scenic spots on Sado Island" Senkaku Scenic Bay with its steep rocky cliffs that stretches over 1 mile. It praised as resembling the Northern European fjord. A series of 100 feet high cliffs will overwhelm you. We will also visit Aquarium to see coastal fishes, shellfishes, etc, live around the island. Then stop at Tokino Mori Park to see symbolic crested ibis of Sado Island “Toki”. See the internationally protected bird "Toki" that was once extinct in Japan but now once again inhabits Sado Island. Then catch a Jetfoil to go back to Niigata city. After arrival at hotel, Free time to enjoy shopping or just rest.


APRIL 22 (MON) INAWASHIRO,

HOTEL LISTEL INAWASHIRO (ONSEN)

In the morning, visit Niigata Furusato Village that offers an overview of Niigata’s history and culture with many exhibits. It is also good place to enjoy shopping for local specialties such as Traditional handicraft, Sake, Dried seafood, healthy local foods, naturally fermented miso, pickled vegetables, etc. Niigata is the biggest tulip cultivation area in Japan. You will be able to visit its fantastic flower garden filled with colorful 33 different varieties of Fifty thousand tulips. Later we will head to Aizu-Wakamatsu a castle town which is known for its award-winning sake and its samurai tradition. Akabeko is a cow-shaped folk toy which long been loved by locals as good luck charms to ward off evil spirits and plagues. We will enjoy Akabeko painting experience. You can hand paint your own Akabeko that is talisman for good health make very cute and light-weight souvenirs to take home. We will stay at resort hotel offers magnificent views of Lake Inawashiro from your room. Enjoy a relaxing soak in the Onsen Hot Spring bath and Open-Air bath.


APRIL 23 (TUE) MITO,

HOTEL TERRACE THE GARDEN MITO

Enjoy riding on chartered Ozatoro Tembo Scenic Train. During the ride, you can view Aizu's nature and stunning scenery with beautiful gorge, rivers, bridge, etc., through the expansive windows of the observation deck carriage. Later go to Ashikaga Flower Park to view its world famous “Great Wisteria.” This over 160-year-old ancient wisteria tree is said to be the "Most beautiful wisteria in the world" and selected as one of the "Top 10 Dream Destinations in the World" by CNN. Enjoy the fairytale-like scenery in breathtaking “Wisteria Wonderland.” (Blooming level depends on climate of the year). Then go to Mito, thrived as a castle town of Mito clan and most famous for Mito Natto which is said founded in here 940 years ago. Hotel is located next to Mito station and shopping building. You can enjoy shopping after hotel check-in.


APRIL 24 (WED) DAIBA, TOKYO,

GRAND NIKKO TOKYO DAIBA

Go to Hitachi Seaside Park that is famous worldwide for its Sky-blue Nemophila Flower Garden. You'll see 5.3-million small blue bell-shaped flowers blanketing the entire hill of enormous park this will depend on climate of the year. This amazing and picturesque scenery is praised as "Japan's most spectacular flower event in spring". Afterwards, enjoy shopping & lunch at Aeon shopping Mall on the way to Daiba, a new major shopping district of Tokyo. We’ll stay hotel located easy walking distance to Aqua city Shopping mall with 100Yen shop, restaurant section, Ramen alley, etc. After hotel check in, tour guides will take you to shopping area. In the evening, beautiful illumination of Rainbow Bridge and Tokyo tower, etc., can be seen from right in front of hotel. (Lunch and dinner will be at your own expense.) 


APRIL 25 (THU) TOKYO / HONOLULU,

At checkout time our agent will come to tape and tie-up the boxes and take the baggage to be checked-in down. In the afternoon proceed to Narita International Airport to catch flight in the evening to Honolulu. Arrive in Honolulu the same morning, 25 APR (Thursday). After clearing U.S. Customs, proceed home. (Lunch and dinner will be at your own expense.) 


Clients remaining back will be assisted in obtaining plane, train, and hotel reservations. Members may return to Honolulu individually, but no later than 90 days from day of departure. Weekend returns will cost more per person. Please call our office if you are extending your stay. MAHALO!
