29 JUN (SAT) CHITOSE,

ANA CROWNE PLAZA HOTEL CHITOSE

Arrive at Haneda Int’l Airport and after clearing government formalities, transfer to your connecting flight to Chitose Airport in Hokkaido. Upon arrival, go directly to the hotel by bus (15 minutes from the airport). We will stay 2 nights at hotel located right next to Aeon Supermarket. 


30 JUN (SUN) CHITOSE,

ANA CROWNE PLAZA HOTEL CHITOSE

We will visit the newly opened National Ainu Museum and Park, this is the very first National Museum in Hokkaido where you can learn all about the culture of the indigenous “Ainu people”, the aborigines in Hokkaido. You will experience the various aspects of the Ainu culture and lifestyle at this open-air museum. We will see their traditional song and dance that is listed on UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Hokkaido is one of the leading gourmet cities in Asia. Hokkaido’s prized Wagyu beef is especially well-known. We will enjoy Shiraoi Wagyu Beef Sukiyaki for lunch. This world's famous delicacy was served at the "G8 Hokkaido Toyako Summit" dinner and the luncheon that was hosted by the prime minister of Japan. Later we will visit recently opened in 2019 Lake Utonai Observatory that gives you a unobstructive 360-degree view of Lake Utonai, this shallow fresh water lake which is a conservation wetland designated as a National Animal and Bird conservation Area and registered as the Wetlands of International Importance under the Ramsar Convention. This is the best location where you can enjoy the raw nature of Hokkaido. 


1 JUL (MON)LAKE TOYA,

TOYAKO MANSEIKAKU HOTEL LAKESIDE TERRACE (ONSEN) ♨

Visit the famed Kikkoman Shoyu Factory. They are the #1 soy sauce producer all around the world that has been traditionally brewing soy sauce and soy sauce-based seasonings. Witness the process of making their Shoyu produces and being able to purchase them. We will make a stop at the Mushroom Kingdom which is a specialty grocery store dedicated to all kinds of dried mushrooms, jams and pickled vegetables that are made from local ingredients. If you like, you can taste their “top selling Miso soup in Japan” that is made with fresh local grown mushrooms. Then go to Lake Shikotsu, one of the top three clearest and deepest lakes in Japan. We will enjoy a leisure cruise on a glass bottom Sightseeing boat to take-in the beautiful tranquil blue lake with the backdrop of the green foliage and majestic mountain. This glass bottom boat will let you see the irregular rocks and lake fishes along the bottom of the lake. We will also visit the Volcano Science Museum with visual displays of the eruption complete with a special sound system with English narration. We will stay at a resort hotel located in front of beautiful Lake Toya for two nights. After a large buffet dinner filled consisting with Hokkaido specialty foods, you can enjoy a spectacular Lakeside firework show right from your room. Soak and Relax in the Onsen Hot Spring bath and Open-Air bath with beautiful lakeside view.


2 JUL (TUE) LAKE TOYA,

TOYAKO MANSEIKAKU HOTEL LAKESIDE TERRACE (ONSEN) ♨

Lake Toya is celebrated as “1 of 3 most impressive landscapes in Hokkaido” and it was chosen as “1 of 36 of Japan’s most stunning places” by CNN. We will ride Mt. Usu Rope Way to the observation station to observe one of Japan’s most active volcanoes up close with whirls of white smoke. We will visit another active volcano “Showa Shinzan” this is one of Japan’s youngest mountains and designated as a Special National Monument. We will visit Marine Park Nixe, Hokkaido’s biggest aquarium with a Danish theme park. Enjoy spectacular music and light show with 10,000 sardines swimming in sequence creating a colorful reflection of the sardines that resembles the Milky Way. Tonight, we will enjoy Japanese Kaiseki dinner in the evening.


3 JUL (WED) OTARU,

GRAND PARK OTARU

Visit Kyogoku Waterpark located at the foot of spectacular Mt. Yotei. A beautiful river runs through the park with a stream that distributes cool water from Mt. Yotei and known as “One of the top one hundred purest spring waters in Japan.” Later have fun picking and tasting Japanese Cherry in season. These cherries are very different from the American Cherries. It’s juicier with an excellent balance of sweet and sour. Then go to Otaru, regarded as one of the most picturesque cities in Japan thanks to a romantic city scape steeped in a rich history that dates back to 19th century. We will visit the Herring Mansion. The Herring fishing industry had a major role in the history of Otaru. This large mansion was built for wealthy fishermen. The power and wealth of fishermen during the height of the herring era is reflected in the historic residence. We will stay 2 nights at a five-star hotel connected to a big shopping complex, with a Supermarket, Home improvement store, 100-Yen shop, etc. After hotel check-in, free time to shop around.


4 JUL (THU) OTARU,

GRAND PARK OTARU

The island of Hokkaido is one of Japan’s leading wine grape producing regions. We will visit Hokkaido Winery the biggest winery in Hokkaido, to enjoy tasting and purchase “Hokkaido-produced wine”. Otaru still creates an atmosphere of the good old days in a 19th century with many historical western style buildings, nostalgic warehouses, etc. Enjoy strolling around the Sakaimachi, an attractive street lined with old merchant shops from the eighteen hundreds. You can visit Otaru Glassware Store, with their famous brand of glassware. With so many varieties of detailed and vibrant glassware creating a spectacular display. Here, you can buy their popular Dripless Shoyu bottle and other glass products. We will also visit the popular Music box Museum carrying a large collection of beautiful and intricate music boxes that can be purchased. We will enjoy a leisurely Boat Cruise through the well-known Otaru Canal, viewing the historical well-preserved old warehouses that line the canal creating a sense of days gone by.


5 JUL (FRI) TOKACHI,

SAHORO RESORT HOTEL

Today we will visit the historical Okurayama Ski Jump stadium the site of the 1972 Sapporo Winter Olympics ski jump event. You will be amazed how high and steep this Ski Jump Slope is. You will be able to ride upon the same ski lift that took Olympic skiers to the observation platform where you will be able to look down this very high and steep ski slope while viewing the spectacular Sapporo city in the background. Next, we will see a large and unique monument known as the “Hill of the Buddha”, Hokkaido’s new attraction which has been popular among foreign tourists. It features the Great Buddha statue poking his head out from the dome-shaped hill. Only the head of buddha is visible from a distance! While we are here, you can take part in a Japanese spiritual practice. Tonight’s accommodation is a nice resort hotel surrounded by nature here you can enjoy a relaxing soak in the big public bath and open-air bath and enjoy peaceful walk around the hotel in the morning. (Tonight’s Onsen isn’t a hot spring)


6 JUL (SAT) SHIROGANE ONSEN,

HOTEL PARK HILLS (ONSEN) ♨

Today we will get a up close look of Japan’s largest land mammal the Brown bear at Bear Mountain. You can safely see the bears in their natural habitat from inside a fortified caged bus. We will drive to the central observation point to view the bears through large glass windows here you will be able to look eyeball to eyeball with the bears. We will head to world-renowned city of “Furano”, with its breathtaking Lavender flowers in bloom. In July Hokkaido’s seasonal highlighted flowers are the “Lavender” and their fields! Here we will visit Farm Tomita the best lavender viewing spot in all of Hokkaido’s. According to CNN this farm is 1 of Japan’s 36 most beautiful places to visit. Enjoy a spectacular view of the glorious “Purple Carpet” of Lavender fields with Mt. Taisetsu and Tokachi mountain range as a backdrop here you can see the beautiful colors of nature at its peak. After lunch save some room for the “All you can eat” famous Furano Melon which is sweet, juicy, and melts in your mouth. Afterward, we will go to beautiful Shirogane Blue Pond a spectacular sight that is so serene with its unbelievable blue color. The blue pond has been an acclaimed tourist attraction site in Hokkaido. Tonight’s hotel is in Shirogane Hot Spring Town. Upon arrival at the hotel, guides will take you on a leisurely walk to see the beautiful nearby waterfall and cobalt blue river. The flowing blue river with the rushing falls will create a truly breath-taking sight. Tonight’s Onsen Hot Spring bath and Open-air bath is from a natural hot spring.


7 JUL (SUN) ASHIBETSU,

ASHIBETSU STAR LIGHT HOTEL (ONSEN) ♨

Today we will visit Shikisai Flower Garden, a panoramic flower garden spot where you can take in the grand nature of Hokkaido. Enjoy amazing colors and fragrances of several dozen different flowers that carpet the hillside. We will head to the city of Biei. Here will be the best timing to visit to see the lovely and picturesque rural landscapes created by the hills with various fields. One of its highlights will be the Patchwork Hill with marvelous fields and hills blanketed with various colors of shrubbery. You will be amazed by the beautiful landscape that resembles patchwork. We will then head to Asahikawa, that is blessed with the purest water from Mt. Taisetsu. We will visit Takasago Sake Brewery. A long-established Sake brewery that brews their famous Sake with fresh snow water which is essential for brewing tasty Sake. You can sample their Fresh Sake and purchase it bottles of the ones you like! We will head to Ashibetsu famous for high-quality Hot Springs and listed as National Hot Spring Health Resorts which is the only one in Hokkaido. Enjoy a relaxing soak at tonight’s Onsen Hot Spring bath and Open-Air bath.


8 JUL (MON) SAPPORO,

SOLARIA NISHITETSU HOTEL SAPPORO

Today we will enjoy a beautiful scenic highway drive to Sunagawa Highway Oasis where we can shop for Hokkaido’s specialties food items and souvenirs by Hokkaido brand shops. Later head to Iwamizawa to visit Hokkaido’s largest Rose Garden with 630 types of roses in bloom. This will be the perfect time to take a leisurely strolling around the big Rose Garden on a clear day. Later head to Sapporo, Hokkaido’s largest city. We will visit the famous Sapporo TV Tower the symbol of Sapporo. Standing at 296 feet high at the observation deck you will be able to take in the panoramic view of the city & surrounding Mountains appreciating the beautiful seasonal view of Odori Park. We will spend 2 nights at our hotel that’s conveniently located and within easy walking distance to Sapporo station with department stores and underground shopping mall. Our guides will take you “Holo-Holo” after hotel check in.


9 JUL (TUE) SAPPORO,

SOLARIA NISHITETSU HOTEL SAPPORO

We will visit Sapporo Central Wholesale Market a very popular spot for both locals as well as tourists. Here you purchase buy dried seafood, all types of processed marine products, and local specialties, etc., at wholesale prices. Next, we will visit Shiroi Koibito Park, a confectionery theme park of Hokkaido’s most famous souvenir “Shiroi Koibito cookies.” See how these delicious cookies are made and enjoy shopping. Enjoy lunch and shopping at Ario Shopping Mall, and you can also visit the Sapporo Beer Museum learning about the history of beer in Japan and the process of beer making their signature beers. After seeing the exhibits, you can enjoy sampling their beer at your (own expense). We will also go to Yurigahara Lily Park a great place for a relaxing stroll and enjoy the fresh air and outdoors. Lilies will be the best season with about 100 different types blooming throughout the park. Afterwards we will head back to our hotel. After arrival to our hotel, you will have free time to finish Shopping, Packing, etc.  (Lunch / Dinner will be at your own expense.) 


10 JUL (WED) SAPPORO / HONOLULU,

At checkout time our agent will come to tape and tie-up our boxes and take down baggage to be checked in down. We will leave the hotel by bus to Chitose Int’l Airport to catch Airline Flight # to Honolulu. Arrive in Honolulu the same morning, 10 July (Wednesday). After clearing U.S. Customs, proceed home. (Lunch / Dinner will be at your own expense.) 


Clients remaining back will be assisted in obtaining plane, train, and hotel reservations. Members may return to Honolulu individually, but no later than 90 days from day of departure. Weekend returns will cost more per person. Please call our office if you are extending your stay. MAHALO!
