APRIL 7 (TUE) HONOLULU,
Leave Daniel K. Inouye International Airport. A meal and snack will be served aboard the flight. There will be Free Movies and Drinks.
APRIL 8 (WED) YOKOHAMA,
YOKOHAMA BAY SHERATON HOTEL & TOWERS
Arrive at Haneda Airport and after clearing government formalities, By bus to hotel in Yokohama, 2nd largest city in Japan. We'll stay 2 nights at hotel that is connected to underground shopping mall with department store, 100-yen shop, Big Electronics Store, Supermarket, etc. After hotel check-in, tour guides will take you Holo-Holo around the hotel.
APRIL 9 (THU) YOKOHAMA,
YOKOHAMA BAY SHERATON HOTEL & TOWERS
Visit Yokohama Wholesale Market to enjoy shopping of Japanese traditional food items, such as Umeboshi, Tsukemono pickles, etc., at a wholesale price. Then head to Tokyo, the World’s Biggest City. We will enjoy driving through Tokyo Metropolis while seeing Tokyo's famous tourist attractions from our bus window. Drive over spectacular Rainbow Bridge crossing Tokyo Bay to see a splendid view of the waterfront subcenter in Tokyo known as “Little Manhattan.” Later see the famous red and white colored 1,092 feet tall tower Tokyo Tower, the center of political activity in Japan National Diet Building, New National Olympic Stadium, etc. We will visit Shinjuku Gyoen park home to as many as 1,300 Sakura trees of 65 varieties. This urban park is Tokyo's most popular place to see Yaezakura (double-flowered cherry blossom). It’ll be the season to admire enchanting varieties of Yaezakura (Blooming level depends on climate). And visit Ameyoko, one of Japan's most popular shopping streets, filled with many shops dealing discounts on all kinds of products including dried seafood, candies, T-shirts, snacks, etc. Enjoy more shopping after going back to the hotel in Yokohama!
APRIL 10 (FRI) HACHIOJI,
KEIO PLAZA HOTEL HACHIOJI
In the morning, visit Anpan Factory, Anpan is a traditional Japanese pastry that is a flaky bun filled with Anko red bean paste. We will visit Ogino bakery producing a very popular “Tanzawa Anpan” that always draws a steady crowd of visitors to stock up. You will also get a chance to taste Japanese Malasada (Age-pan) at your own expense. Later go to Mt. Takao awarded the maximum of three stars as highly recommended sightseeing spot in Japan by European travel guidebook. We will ride the Japan’s steepest Cable Car with 889 feet difference of elevation while viewing Sakura Cherry blossom that will be blooming along the way (Blooming level depends on climate condition of the year). After arrival at Mountain top station, you can observe a fantastic view of Kanto plain, skyscrapers of downtown Tokyo, etc. (depending on weather). We also visit Monkey Park where you can see 70 monkeys up close. Then head to hotel in Hachioji in West Tokyo. Train station and its shopping area are only short walk from the hotel. Enjoy shopping after hotel check in.
APRIL 11 (SAT) MINAKAMI,
GENSEN YUNO YADO MATSUNOI (ONSEN)
Enjoy driving through the National Park filled with nature picturesque scenes in Chichibu, an Amazing Hidden Gem in Saitama that embraced by mountains with dramatic landscape of steep cliffs and beautiful rock beds. We will visit Chichibu Festival Museum, exhibits actual festival floats that used for famous Chichibu Night Festival which is considered “1 of Japan’s top 3 festivals that feature floats.” You can experience the climax of the festival through a Hi-Vision movie. Later go to see Sakura (Cherry blossom) in Nagatoro 1 of Japan’s 100 most famous Cherry blossom viewing spots. If timing is right, a tunnel of flowers made by the Sakura Cherry trees on both sides, creating an utterly spectacular sight. (Blooming level depends on climate). Tonight’s hotel is a Traditional Japanese Ryokan style hotel which along Tone River surrounded by nature. We will be staying in a western style room with beds. This hotel has a “Large 8 acre Japanese Landscape Garden” where you can enjoy a peaceful walk in the morning. Enjoy a relaxing soak at the Onsen Hot Spring bath and Open air bath that uses “100% Pure Hot Spring Water.”
APRIL 12 (SUN) NIIGATA,
HOTEL OKURA NIIGATA
In the morning ride Mt. Tanigawa Ropeway to the height of 4,327 feet to Tenjindaira, known for its deep and long periods of snow. You can enjoy a dynamic snowy scenery in nature. Then proceed to Niigata City to visit Shirone Kite Museum with its exhibits of 500 rare kites from across Japan and the world. It’s amazing to see a huge kite the size of 24 tatami mats! Which is used in the Giant kite battle festival. We will also see dynamic 3-D movie of this exciting Giant kite battle which has over 300-year history. Our hotel is located along the Shinano River Japan’s longest river. After hotel check in, tour guides will take you Holo Holo to a commercial district near the hotel. Crossing the Bandai Bridge that is symbol of the city with a beautiful series of sturdy stone arches gives a majestic feeling and allows you to feel the atmosphere of Niigata.
APRIL 13 (MON) SADO ISLAND,
FAMILIO SADO AIKAWA (ONSEN)
Board the Jetfoil to Sado Island, the largest island in Japan sea side, filled with picturesque scenery with an interesting history, unique culture, traditional arts & entertainments. This island has attracted world attention because of the World Cultural Heritage status in 2024. Upon arrival on the island, we will visit Mano Park praised as the best Sakura viewing place on Sado. If timing is right the park will be filled with beautiful Cherry blossoms. Later visit the Sado Gold Mine, had been in operation for 388 years starting from 1601 and became one of the World’s largest gold producers in the 17th century. We will go inside the mine with its display of robots recreating scenes from the old gold mining days. For those who have been here before, you can try Doyuko Course with actual hauling inspection tunnel which had been used until 1989. You will see the symbolic Doyuno Wareto or Split Mountain at the end of this route. Excavation work had “split” the mountain! Then visit "One of the Best scenic spots on Sado Island" Senkaku Scenic Bay with its steep rocky cliffs that stretches over 1 mile. It praised as resembling the Northern European fjord. A series of 100 feet high cliffs will overwhelm you. Tonight's hotel is a pleasant beachside resort that offers a grand view of the East Sea from your room. Enjoy a relaxing soak at the Onsen Hot Spring bath.
APRIL 14 (TUE) NIIGATA,
HOTEL OKURA NIIGATA
We will visit the sacred “Meoto (husband & wife) Rocks.” These 2 huge rocks standing next to each other like a couple. The rocks are said to bring good luck for your family. You can buy famous local salt here. Then visit Obata Sake Brewery. Enjoy the fine taste of the famous Sado Sake and watch a short movie in English about its Sake. Later enjoy riding the "Tarai-bune" traditional washtub boat. You'll be able to experience one of Sado Island’s rich traditions as tubs were used for catching abalone in very winding and narrow coves. Then we’ll visit Toki- no Mori Park to see symbolic Crested Ibis of Sado Island “Toki.” See the internationally protected bard that was once extinct in Japan but now once again inhabits Sado Island. Then catch a Jetfoil to go back to Niigata city.
APRIL 15 (WED) MADARAO HIGHLANDS,
TANGRAM MADARAO TOKYU RESORT (ONSEN)
Niigata is known as the “Rice capital of Japan” because they produce the “Best rice in Japan” and “High-quality rice products.” We’ll visit Senbei Kingdom to enjoy “Grilling your own Senbei (rice cracker).” You can also buy fresh Senbei at the factory store for your souvenir. Then enjoy Strawberry Picking in season. Tasting fresh and sweet Japanese strawberries as many as you like! Next visit Niigata Furusato Village to see the history and culture of Niigata and enjoy shopping for local specialties such as Traditional handicraft, Sake, Dried Seafood, etc. Then head to Madarao Highlands. We will stay at popular highland resort hotel which is surrounded by great nature. You can refresh yourself while overlooking photogenic panoramic view of vast ski grounds. Enjoy a relaxing soak in the Onsen Hot Spring bath and Open air bath.
APRIL 16 (THU) KOMAGANE HIGHLANDS,
KOMAGANE RESORT LINX (ONSEN)
Head to Obuse, a charming historical town with its idyllic and serene atmosphere created by the well-preserved historic buildings. We will visit Katsushika Hokusai Museum. Katsushika Hokusai (1760-1849) is author of Japan’s exquisite and aesthetic Ukiyoe Woodblock Prints. You can enjoy Japanese beauty through exhibits of his celebrated beautiful masterpieces. Obuse is also called "Chestnut Town" because of its delicious Chestnuts. There is a good chance to buy a variety of locally grown chestnuts products such as Chestnuts Yokan, Sweet chestnut paste, etc. If timing is right, we will visit either Garyu Park, 1 of Japan’s 100 most famous Cherry blossom viewing spots, known for the beauty of its cherry blossoms blooming around the pond with snow covered mountains as back drop. Or Floral Garden Obuse, the landscape garden with great variety of flowers. Later visit Daio Wasabi Farm (Japanese Horse-radish farm). Enjoy strolling around Wasabi fields and crystal clear streams that featured in the movie directed by world-known Akira Kurosawa. You can also enjoy shopping for Wasabi products at the “Biggest Wasabi Farm in Japan.” Then head to Komagane Highlands located at the foot of the magnificent Southern and Central Japan Alps. We will stay at the hotel that is secluded, and lovely mountain resort hotel surrounded by forest. Soak and relax in Onsen Hot Spring bath and Open air Rotenburo bath where you can feel nature while soaking.
APRIL 17 (FRI) TOYOHASHI,
LOISIR HOTEL TOYOHASHI
In the morning, we’ll see beautiful Shidare-zakura (weeping cherry blossom) with splendid views of the Southern Japan Alps at Kozenji temple. Later visit Magomejuku Old town where you can experience the Edo period (17th ~ 19th century) of ancient Japan in the well-preserved post station. You can stroll through the charming stone paved street featuring a variety of Edo style houses built using traditional techniques with materials of unique wooden and plaster. You will feel like you traveled back in time to Samurai period! Then head to Toyohashi that is the cultural and industrial center of the East Mikawa area. We will stay 2 nights at the hotel located right next to MEGA Don Quijote discount shopping center offers discount goods, food items, Japanese souvenirs, household items, etc. Enjoy shopping after hotel check in.
APRIL 18 (SAT) TOYOHASHI,
LOISIR HOTEL TOYOHASHI
Head to an old castle town of Okazaki well-known as the birthplace of “SHOGUN” Tokugawa Ieyasu who is one of the three "Great Unifiers" of 16th-century Japan. We will visit Okazaki Castle, the birthplace of this one of the most influential Samurai in Japanese history. The beautiful purple Wisteria is expected to bloom on the castle ground (Blooming level depends on climate condition of the year). We will stop at Aeon Shopping Mall for lunch and shopping. And later we will go to Laguna Ten bosch, a big shopping complex that carries a variety of local specialties including dried seafood, Tsukemono pickles, local snacks, Unagi (eel) Bento, etc. Main feature in this area is Shrimp chips. You can sample lots of flavors and purchase fresh ones as souvenir for family and friends. (Lunch / Dinner will be at your own expense)
APRIL 19 (SUN) NAGOYA / HONOLULU
At check-out time our agent will come around to tape & tie-up the boxes and take the baggage to be checked-in down. In the afternoon proceed to Chubu Airport to catch Japan Airline Flight in the evening to Honolulu. Arrive in Honolulu the same morning, April 19 (Sun). After clearing U.S. Customs, proceed home. (Lunch / Dinner will be at your own expense)
